"Casa Buena Onda" - translated from Spanish means "House of Good Waves". It also mean "Good Vibrations" or "Good Times" and that is what you will get when you spend your vacation with us. Our location in Sayulita offers the best of everything: proximity to town and beachs, restaurants, hiking, abundant nature, beautiful homes and friendly locals in the neighborhood.
We cater especially to surfers and guests looking for a clean, comfortable and relaxing place to stay while experiencing some great waves and fun in the sun.
We have 3 beautiful rooms available:
Located on the 2nd level are the Camarone room and Corazon rooms. Each room is tastefully decorated and comes with a Queen size bed. There is also a sofa bench which is suitable for a bed as well. Many guests choose to rent both rooms and have the entire second floor.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and you will absolutely love the double doors which open onto the front terrace. From this vantage point you can watch people passing by, surfers coming to and from the beach, and maybe the occasional vaquero riding by on his horse.
The layout was designed to incorporate as much indoor/outdoor living as possible. The 2 separate bathrooms are located outside your room but offer plenty of privacy - our guests really like it! There are also 2 beautiful talavera sinks while another separate shower area is tiled in wonderful Mexican colors.
Seahorse Palapa. This super cool room has it's own shower and bathroom under a palm thatch palapa roof with real bamboo and exotic guayabia wood construction. Located in the garden above the bodega, the Seahorse Palapa is an extraordinary and unique way to enjoy your stay in Sayulita. Fresh breezes keep the room cool and comfortable while you relax and contemplate the vaulted roof or look out your window at the surrounding neighborhood and the gardens below. This brand new accommodation is the ultimate chill pad. Clean, private and fun!
Other Features:
As you enter the property you pass through our garden and make your way up our custom stairway leading upstairs. On the 2nd level, the shared cocinita (kichenette) features a bar with bar stools, kitchen sink, refrigerator and fresh bottled water. The cocinita also includes a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, and toaster. In the garden area we offer the use of our gas BBQ.
Climbing the spiral staircase you can get to the 3rd floor, the sky deck, which provides a 360° panorama of the neighborhood and which provides a great view towards town. This area gets alot of sun if you want to catch some rays. And at night the star gazing is tremendous.
We are happy and proud to say we are the first in Sayulita to offer accommodation that is entirely solar powered. All the rooms for rent as well as the garden area are powered by clean, renewable energy - our own Photovoltaic System. If you would like a tour or more info we would be happy to show you how it works.
At Casa Buena Onda we provide wireless internet so you can check email while relaxing in the garden or in the privacy of your room. Your hosts Terry and Sheryl are English speaking and live on site.
There is also another beautiful tiled shower in the garden for rinsing and refreshing after a day at the beach.
On your easy 3 minute walk into town you'll experience more of the flavor of this picturesque Mexican peublo. In fact you can save a lot of money by not renting a car - you can walk everywhere from Casa Buena Onda. Just 4 short blocks away is the main surfing, swimming and boogie boarding beach. It's almost in our backyard.
There are many great walking and hiking trails around the Sayulita area. At Casa Buena Onda we are close to several of the best secluded beaches. Both are fun easy walks through lush cool jungle. Plan a picnic or do some snorkeling at Playa Los Muertos. As well, Playa Carracitos is only a 45 minute hike and offers a pristine uncrowded beach with majestic rocks on either side.
Bonus - at Casa Buena Onda you don't have to climb a super steep hill everyday to get here. And better than staying right downtown, you are super close to all the action but don't have bar music blaring right beside your bed at 2 am.

There are two rooms available on the second floor - the Camarone Room and the Corazon Room.
We also have another room - the Seahorse Palapa Bungalow.
Each room is perfect for up to maximum 2 adults and perhaps a small child.

Bookings are for 3 night minimum, however, sometimes we can accommodate you for 1 or 2 nights on a last minute basis (within 1 week of your desired date). Call or email us or if you are in Sayulita, drop by.
A 50% deposit is required to hold your reservation. The balance is payable in cash (US dollar or Peso) upon arrival.
Cancellation policy: Full refund of your deposit will be given up to 30 days prior to your arrival date. After that we will refund your money if we are able to re-rent your room. No partial cancellations.

Probably The Cooloest Place To Stay In Sayulita!
I've stayed at Casa Bueno twice in about 8 weeks and its exactly as advertised. Super cool layout, clean, comfy, and with the natural rooster alarm clock and small Mexican town setting, its like you're a million miles away from the resorts of PV, and you won't miss a wave. Terry and his fam are incredibly nice (Canadians, so of course they're nice) and with the proximity to town and the beach, you won't know whether to surf, sleep, eat, drink, or lay around in the sun, singing along with the "Soni Gas" trucks passing by (I highly recommend all of these...)
