Villa Calabaza

VILLA CALABAZA in Sayulita offers 3 separate self contained 1 br. apt. accommodations. AFRICA SUITE (lower garden), LA FAVORITA (middle, golf car parking), or MI NIDO (third level lofts). 

1. "MI NIDO"  PALAPA LOFT NEST; Queen br. 2 persons, 2 levels, spectacular views, open air, shared dipping pool jaccuzzi.  Green season: $90-125/night.  High season: $160-185/night;   3 night minimum to 14 maximum or request. $70 cleaning fee.

Romantic. Private entrance stairs, locking gate.  Fiberoptics Wifi. Nestled treetop, 2 lofts under palapa. Unbeatable sea views. Shared heated dipping jacuzzi pool. Glass enclosed queen bedroom w/mosquito net, fans, ocean breeze; NO AC.  LR, bar, kitchenette, bath/shower, terraces.  Wide tranquil beach 3 minute walk; beach "stuff"; walk beach or street 10-15 min.t o restaurants/town. Housekeeping M-F.  Safe.for personal belongings, resident cats, occasional night visitors.  Up high: away from town's tumult, secluded but neighborhood  activity noise potential. Whale watching Nov.-March, purified water, equipped kitchenette.

2. " LA FAVORITA" .  2 persons; The largest of the 3; ocean views, palapa living/dining w/den view loft reached by ladder; Green season, $100-135; 3 night minimum-14 night max; High Season and holiday: 160 -190, $70 cleaning fee. One bedroom king memory foam, bath and dressing room,  entrance half bath, W/D shared with housekeeping M-F, fully equipped kitchen, Wifi, purified water, entrance garden terrace, Safe for personal belongings, beach gear, golf cart charge outlets.  All one level (middle unit)

3. Africa Suite:  2 persons,  Wifi, housekeeping M-F; fully equipped outdoor kitchen/dining, private dipping pool, memory foam king bed, smart TV, ocean view through jungle, private bath/shower/dressing. Green season $90-130; High season; $150-180.  $70 cleaning fee.

Villa Calabaza is located at the desirable North End away from town's tumult. Green, pristine, clean... However, Sayulita's rapid inevitable expansion of hotels, condos, residences has meant losing its off the beaten path tranquility.  Calabaza is jungly and secluded, but not remote. Whale watching Nov.-March;  the lush jungly atmosphere of the neighborhood centered around an enormous white fig, offers abundant flora and fauna; green parrots, iguanas, chachalacas, uruacas, squirrels.  Binoculars are provided. Depending on the season (monsoon or dry), there can be mosquitos and insects. I fumigate sparingly to keep the jungle ecosystem balanced. Coatimundis and raccoons can be nocturnal visitors.  Keep your avocados and bananas safe!  Three cats have adopted me; Salsa, Kinky and Rub.  The safes are good ones;  keep personal belongings there, but cash and keys with you, not in a place where they can disappear or be copied.  Lock doors when your are out. A golf cart rental is an excellent option for getting around Sayulita. There are 4 outlets for charging golf carts.   I do not recommend a car rental unless you are traveling around to other villages or surfing outside of Sayulita.  I do recommend the bus, and the easiest way to get to Sayulita from PV airport is to cross the highway bridge with your luggage  (or get help with your luggage) and get a northbound taxi (8-900 pesos) or take the bus ($4-5 US), then a taxi to Calabaza. If I know your timing I may be able to meet you in the golf cart.

If you bring a car, there is street parking after unloading near Casa Galaxia at No. 2 Papagallos.

For closing windows, doors and screens consider the lower quieter units, Africa Suite or La Favorita: both offer AC in the bedrooms, May-Dec.
