Description

Hacienda Daniela in Sayulita is a true Hacienda-style house in a tropical paradise.

Hacienda Daniela is located on the north side of Sayulita, just two blocks from the beach and “left” surf break. Hacienda Daniela has been constructed in pure Mexican hacienda style, offering a combination of Spanish construction techniques and Pre-Hispanic methods and artwork.

Hacienda Daniela boasts a layout based upon the classic form of a central patio (historically used to collect rainwater) but now it gives the house the utmost privacy plus natural sunlight and ventilation without facing the street.

Each part of Hacienda Daniela was carefully designed; a special living room designed for use with the pool. This house has two sets of rooms connected through a corridor, thus giving unique privacy to the users of the house. Each room has its own bathroom.

An enormous terrace on the roof with a barbeque can be used for sunbathing during the day or stargazing in the evenings.

Hacienda Daniela in Sayulita offers true modern convenience in an old-world atmosphere.

The construction is made out of antique materials including 100+ year-old wooden beams, stone façades from old colonial buildings, gigantic stone columns brought from different parts of the Mexico and a very articulate handcrafted construction to perfectly accentuate this very special construction style.

I still love this place
This is the second time staying at Hacienda Daniela. I love it so much. It does need a few repairs and updates, but it is such a beautifully decorated house. I love the lay out, the four bedrooms on second floor and a great pool in the center with an extra bathroom and kitchen. Does have a washer/dryer which always helps. The third floor terrace is really cool with a partial ocean view! bikes, boards included. I really prefer the North Side location. Bring some earplugs, the restaurant behind plays music late and loud, but it didn't bother me.

Needs attention and safety improvements
I hate to leave this review, but this house needs some serious attention. I will start with the pros – the deco is truly beautiful. Sabrina, the care-taker, was helpful and easy to be reached. It was nice to have beach towels supplied. The ac worked very well. There was plenty of purified / filter water stocked in the pantry. The location was fantastic! Beach access is a very short walk! The cons – You canNOT secure this house. The gate at the front is tricky, but once you get the hang of it, it will lock, HOWEVER, the garage doors are broken, are not secured, not even on a track, and can literally be pushed over with a little push. The doors are rotting from severe termite damage, as well as the front door. You could not secure that door at all. We were unable to park the golf carts in the garage, because the doors were unusable, leaving the carts parked on the street. Many of the bedroom doors do not latch or close completely, allowing bugs to make their way in. They all had damage. You are unable to completely close the living / dining room doors to the pool area. There was nothing to state what to do in an emergency. We also had panhandlers come up to the door within 15 minutes of arriving. Upon our arrival the laundry room had sheets and towels piled in trash bags, along with the washer and dryer being full. I needed to do some personal laundry but it was aggravating that I needed to finish theirs first. The front bedrooms – those bathrooms never had hot water. We let it run for over 10 minutes and there was no warm water at all. The bathrooms in the back bedrooms did have hot water. The bathroom in the “master bedroom” did not have AC and the windows were open with no screens. All of the built in cabinets and drawers all have active termite damage. The kitchen is not well stocked. There is no oven. The fridge is small. We had to ask for a microwave that did arrive however it was rusted out and did not work well. The couch in the living room area was extremely uncomfortable and no one wanted to sit in them. The upstairs patio does not appear to have been cleaned in a long time. There are stacks of roofing material, broken tiles, BUT there is an amazing view! There are NO fire / smoke detectors. A few things that were advertised but were not true - The pool is not heated (being here in March where the pool doesn’t see much sun, it was cold). The bicycles are not usable due to them being completely rusted. The parking is not secure, it is street parking. Only one of the safes worked. Two of the four beach chairs were broken and unusable. This house has incredible potential if they could address the termite issues and make sure all doors and windows can lock.

This place was perfect!
I think this is one of my favorite houses we have stayed in Sayulita. I am really liking the North side and the location was perfect. The hacienda style was perfect, rooms were huge, which was perfect for a group of friends. Sabrina was very helpful and quick to respond.

An Absolutely Stunning Home
We had a fabulous stay! The attention to decor, artwork and historic construction in this home is absolutely stunning. A truly beautiful home. Check in was simple and the management team was so kind. Location was great- lots of restaurants and shops close by but removed from the center just enough to make for peaceful evenings. I’ll definitely stay again!
