Casa de las Flores in Sayulita is majestically perched on a hillside overlooking the ocean, the mountain range, the ball field  and the river's entrance into the Sayulita bay. It is a one minute walk to town and a 5min. stroll to the beach.  The main house is 2 bedrooms/one bath with a fully equiped kitchen and lounging palapa covered deck area along with a dining table for 8 - 10.  It is nestled in afternoon shade and delicious ocean breezes and views.

Down a garden path and then curving up is the "ariba" master suite.(with private bathroom)  French doors open up from this bedroom to a large palapa - covered sitting area complete with an outside kitchenette.  Beautiful, town, ocean, and mountain views. Below the main house is a small spiral staircase leading to the 4th bedroom/bath casita, which has its own private and unique outside sitting area.

The first 4 bedrooms all have queen size beds.  The 5th bedroom , located below the pool area , has a loft double bed and a single day bed.   All rooms have fans for coolness and connect to the beautiful swimming pool and lounging deck. A palapa covered pool side bar with a separate BBQ area, equipped with a small "beverage" fridge,  makes for a great fiesta atmosphere to enjoy the ambience of Sayulita. Curving stair cases and manicured landscaping with beautiful flower blooms year round make entering and leaving the house almost as much fun as staying there. You can be assured to see the iguanas perched on a palm tree towards the ocean. This house is definitely Sayulita's best choice for groups of 10 people, or any group requiring 5 bedrooms with a super convenient location.  The house can be rented using less rooms/casitas for a lesser rate, but still having the entire property to yourself.  GREAT NEW FEATURE !  HIGH SPEED INTERNET RIGHT IN THE COMFORT OF YOUR TROPICAL PARADISE CASA! The Most Relaxing Place I've Stayed in Years
Everything about our stay at Casa de las Flores was peaceful, beautiful, and relaxed. The house is aptly named as the terraced garden feels like flowers are growing out of the walls. Meandering pathways make even the walk from the kitchen to the pool feel like a garden stroll. We can't say enough about the pool area, which gets enough sun to make you want to spend the whole day in the water, with plenty of shaded areas and lounges to retreat to. The kitchen has what you need to prepare many meals at "home," and we enjoyed eating local produce, fish and pastries at the open air dining area while looking out at the hillside homes across the way. The only downfall to Casa de las Flores is that it is so enjoyable we had a hard time motivating to go out on the town! But town is just a few steps away and we found it to be slow paced, friendly, and accessible to even the novice traveler. After a day out shopping in the markets or a day on the beach, we all looked forward to returning to the large, cool rooms and the spectacularly comfortable beds. To top it all off, the home owner and her manager are fun, friendly, and quick to respond to questions. Such a treat.

Great find!
I can't recommend Casa de las Flores enough! Just spent a week here with the whole family, and we all loved the house. The house is gorgeous, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Even with 10 adults and a baby, we all had the privacy we needed. The pool/bar/barbecue area is really beautiful, and there is plenty of shade to enjoy during the hottest parts of the day. The other highlight of the house was the decks attached to the main house and the uppermost casita- great views of town, and they get a nice breeze in the afternoon.
The property manager, Nancy, was very responsive and helpful, not to mention friendly. We contacted her a couple of times for help with various things, and she was quick to stop by and help us out.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the location of the house is also great. Although it's a quick walk into downtown, the house is actually located on a smaller street. While it's true that the roosters, trucks and people in town can be a bit noisy during the night, that is nothing unique to this house. I'm sure you can hear them all over town.
Don't miss the chicken stand that is right across the street from the house. Delicious!

Nice place for large group
Very hard to sleep past 5am as numerous roosters crowing every am. Would have been nice to have a change of towels during our 3 day stay or just someone to check in on us. I did inquire about a cat that I previously read about in a review and I was told the cat was "gone". We did close our room doors as we had to keep a cat out of our kitchen and food. Never found a key for the "Secure lock up" so we just did the best we could do. Also- pool was cloudy and questionable. Saw the pool guy our first day.
Great to have our group all together. I don't think we will be returning here.

Response from Owner/Manager on 03-16-2015
Hi Debbie, I am dismayed to read the review you gave Casa de las Flores. I know my property manager, Nancy, works very hard to keep all of our guests happy. Her contact information is right on the info. sheet I sent you. I am quite certain that someone did come by 1st morning of your 3 day stay there to check in. It is not our practice to continue a check in unless you have contacted her to let her know of any concerns. For a 3 night stay, there is no mention in my rental agreement for a change of sheets, towels, or maid service. If you wanted that, you needed to let us know. An ample amount of towels for a 3 day stay was at the house. Cats roam, and whatever cat was there is not the Flores cat. Rio died last year, so yes he is "gone". Pool guy comes 2-3 X per week, and you did see him on the 1st day, and then you moved on to P.V. by his next visit. All former guests have been very happy with the pool quality. Roosters crow all over town and I have no control over that. There are locks on the cabinets in the bedrooms, and I also state to lock up when leaving the house. I think that did work okay for you? as there were no incidents? Casa de las Flores is not in the category of luxury villas, evident in the very reasonable pricing. Perhaps you needed something more designated in that category. The one positive statement you did make about the property, kitchen and barbecue area being great, was a hidden comment, so nobody will read that there was at least something you liked about your stay. I am saddened by your efforts to review my property. Sincerely, Peggy

Just Perfect!
My husband and I were fortunate enough to get to stay in the Ariba Suite, on the top level of this fantastic house. Highlights include: a super comfy bed, spacious bathroom, plenty of room to put our stuff, tasteful local decorations, an outdoor kitchen that had everything that we needed (and we made meals at the suite a bunch), a large & private sitting area outside of our room that had the most perfect breeze and view at ALL times. On top of all of that, there was the pool and bbq area that we thoroughly enjoyed!

Location! This property is located within walking distance to everything. We took the bus to Sayulita from Puerto Vallarta and the house is about a 4 minute walk from the bus drop off. Easy. Also, there are multiple meat/fruit/veggie markets & stands about 3 minutes out the door. Excellent breakfast/lunch/dinner/bar options right there as well. We had one of the BEST lunches we have ever had just at the bottom of the stairs of the property on the other side of the road - grilled chicken & chorizo with cactus and veggies. Just delicious!

The owner is a pleasure to deal with - timely and clear with her responses. The house staff were all very kind and easy to communicate with both in English and Spanish.

In conclusion, we highly recommend Casa de las Flores for just a couple or a large group. You WON'T be disappointed!

We just got back from our stay at Casa de Las Flores. We had the best vacation we have ever had. The owner was easy to deal with and the property manager and her family were wonderful. The house is beautiful with many places to lounge and relax. We had 4 adults and 5 kids,15-9, in our group. The kids had a blast in the pool. The house is an easy walk to town and the beach. The only thing to consider, if you have a hard time with stairs this house might be a little tricky. We didn't mind a bit. We love Casa de Las Flores and will be back!!!

Amazing view from our balcony every day!
We recently have a wonderful stay at Casa de Las Flores. It was centrally located to all the local restaurants, beach and Costa Verde International School. I loved my room with a view of all Sayulita. Although the stair were a hall to go up n down, it was a great cardio for all of us. The house is well secured and felt safe at al times. If you hear a knocking at weird hours of the night don't be alarmed it's only a "woodpecker bird" knocking on the wood rails. The house could use A/C throughout but we made do with the fans running 24/7. The house did provide great shade at 3:30pm daily. We look forward to returning to Casa de Las Flores next year.

Very comfortable ! Stunning views
My friends and I came to Sayuliita for a relaxing 4day stay in Sayulita and I was hoping to show them how great Sayulita is. Thank goodness I picked Casa De las Flores, because it is absolutely one of the best places I have ever stayed at in this quaint little village. It has spectacular views , comfortable rooms , everything is spotless and if we needed anything the property manager was right there in no time. I can very honestly recommend this place for anyone , and I am a good judge because not only have I stayed in a dozen or so places in town I also own a house in Sayulita.

Uniquely Gorgeous, Perfect location
Just spent a terrific week with a group of 8 friends, celebrating my wife's birthday at Casa de las flores. As others have commented, the house is basically a 4 story home stacked on a hill. It takes a total of 98 steep steps to get to the top living quarter. However the payoff for doing a little stair-climbing is 100% worth it. The view from the common area right off the kitchen and living room is stunning. You are high enough off the dusty road below to not have to endure all the dust kicked up by cars. It also gives you a great feeling of privacy and quietness. The pool was perfect to jump in to cool down during the heat of the day. All of the rooms featured very comfortable beds, most have their own bathrooms with showers. As others have indicated, 3 out of the 5 rooms are separated from the main house (the two others are in the main house off the kitchen/living room) which gives individuals or couples some nice alone time and privacy from others. The location is just a short minute walk from town and 5 minute stroll to the beach. Absolutely great to be able to use the free wifi to skype with family back home, and google places to visit or eat while there. Yes, there are roosters everywhere in Sayulita and they will definitely crow at any random time in the night and certainly when the sun comes up. Earplugs may be helpful. Peggy the owner is very responsive and friendly to our many questions and was a great owner to deal with. I can't wait to plan our next trip to Sayulita and we'd love to stay here again at Casa de Las Flores.

Awesome and fun vacation rental in convenient location
A group of 10 stayed here for several days and we had a total blast. It is especially great in big groups because the units are separate and each have their own bathroom! The pool is phenomenal and great for cooling down in the hot Sayulita sun, and we also loved the bar and grill area. The house had great, unique character and was very clean and well equipped. It is also a very quick walk to town and the beach. My one complaint would be the roosters in the nearby hills that woke us up early every morning, but that had absolutely nothing to do with the house, more so the location. Peggy was so helpful and very responsive to my many emails, and I would highly recommend this place!

Beautiful house in a fantastic location
Our group of friends, 10 total, stayed at Casa de las Flores last week. Most of us had been to Sayulita before, and the consensus was that we picked a winner of a house! First up - the stairs. I think one of us counted 72 steps from the entrance to the common area, but if my husband (with a healing broken ankle) and I (with a healing torn ACL) could manage without trouble, you probably can too! I told myself it was helping to burn off all of the Tacos el Ivan, churros and beer :) We actually found it to be much easier that the climb up a steep hill to another house we stayed at.
The rooms were all very nice; most of the bedrooms have their own bathroom, and the two attached to the kitchen share a bathroom. When it comes to the bathrooms, something to be prepared for: most places in Sayulita request that you not flush paper down the toilet. (not just at this house) We were told it has to do with the waste systems in town not being up to par with the amount of visitors Sayulita now brings.
The free wi-fi in the house was great, particularly for those of us who can't help but occasionally bury our noses in our iPhones, even while on vacation. I think the only place the wi-fi didn't reach was the lower casita under the pool area.
The pool and pool area, including the bar and outdoor cooking area, were great. Perfect place to hang out and relax. Unless the sun was shining directly on the pool, it was a little chilly. But nice for dipping your feet in at any time!
The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials needed for a week away, including a coffee maker, blender, toaster, untensils, sharp-ish knives, pots, pans, some tupperware, plates, bowls, glasses, a fridge, stove, and fresh bottled water dispenser.
The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is that because of the climate in the area and the nature of the house, there was some mold growing in places. Some of the plates in the kitchen must have been put away wet at some point and had mold growing on them. Also, Rio the cat (who is super sweet and friendly) was having a bout of Montezuma's revenge, which wasn't so fun to clean up. But other than those two things, the house was great and I would definitely stay there again! Peggy was very nice and easy to work with for booking the house and answering our questions.
