Our group of friends, 10 total, stayed at Casa de las Flores last week. Most of us had been to Sayulita before, and the consensus was that we picked a winner of a house! First up - the stairs. I think one of us counted 72 steps from the entrance to the common area, but if my husband (with a healing broken ankle) and I (with a healing torn ACL) could manage without trouble, you probably can too! I told myself it was helping to burn off all of the Tacos el Ivan, churros and beer :) We actually found it to be much easier that the climb up a steep hill to another house we stayed at.
The rooms were all very nice; most of the bedrooms have their own bathroom, and the two attached to the kitchen share a bathroom. When it comes to the bathrooms, something to be prepared for: most places in Sayulita request that you not flush paper down the toilet. (not just at this house) We were told it has to do with the waste systems in town not being up to par with the amount of visitors Sayulita now brings.
The free wi-fi in the house was great, particularly for those of us who can't help but occasionally bury our noses in our iPhones, even while on vacation. I think the only place the wi-fi didn't reach was the lower casita under the pool area.
The pool and pool area, including the bar and outdoor cooking area, were great. Perfect place to hang out and relax. Unless the sun was shining directly on the pool, it was a little chilly. But nice for dipping your feet in at any time!
The kitchen was well stocked with the essentials needed for a week away, including a coffee maker, blender, toaster, untensils, sharp-ish knives, pots, pans, some tupperware, plates, bowls, glasses, a fridge, stove, and fresh bottled water dispenser.
The only reason I didn't give a full 5 stars is that because of the climate in the area and the nature of the house, there was some mold growing in places. Some of the plates in the kitchen must have been put away wet at some point and had mold growing on them. Also, Rio the cat (who is super sweet and friendly) was having a bout of Montezuma's revenge, which wasn't so fun to clean up. But other than those two things, the house was great and I would definitely stay there again! Peggy was very nice and easy to work with for booking the house and answering our questions.
