Description

Selva at Cinética in Sayulita, is an exclusive guesthouse tucked into a pristine section of jungle between two secluded beaches, Playa Patzcuaro and Patzuarito. Cinética is on the path less beaten. Many visit Sayulita for the vibrant village experiences. Some come for surfing. Others come for serenity. Cinética is that rare place that offers all of it. Cinética can be your place to land and unwind… or your stepping-off point for adventure.

Beautifully integrated amid towering native palms within an ecological preserve overlooking the ocean, Cinética is an instant refuge where you’ll instantly feel at home. Stay in one of the 4 independent guest suites for a few nights or the entire winter. Each spacious suite has a private entrance, a fully equipped kitchen and enjoys the use of the Saline Pool heated by solar panels, the oversized pool terrace and BBQ. At Cinética you can spend carefree days by the pool or wander down to one of the area’s secluded beaches.

Sustainability: We live our commitment to sustainability by relentlessly orienting towards less. Less conventional energy. Less plastic. Less stuff. At Cinética, we have integrated:

  • Solar + Storage Solution allows Cinetica to be grid and CFE (Mexican power utility) independent.
  • 4 phase water purification system that treats every drop on the property: showers, faucets and even the pool!
  • Saline Pool Heated by Solar Panels

Selva is 1 of 4 spacious suites on the Cinética property, the entire property accommodates a maximum of 10 guests so tranquility is assured. While each of our rooms are spacious, and feature western-style full kitchens plus laundry facilities, we only book for single or double occupancy. Why? Because, with a maximum of 10-12 adult guests at any time, regardless of how dynamic you make your visit, you’ll always have an oasis to which you can retreat, recover and prepare to re-launch.

A getaway. A retreat. A springboard. Cinética is a base for doing anything… or absolutely nothing. It is the perfect setting in which to enjoy your Sayulita vacation, whether you choose to venture into Sayulita or prefer to receive in home deliveries of delicious restaurant take-out and groceries, you'll be happy to know that Sayulita is within easy reach.

I started planning my next trip the minute I arrived.
Throughout our visit we kept hearing one refrain: 'I came for a visit and decided to stay.' The pregnant Japanese woman and her partner from Michoacan running the town's best gift shop, the Argentinian hitchhiker on her way home to Punta Mita after a shift working security at a resort, and our hosts Matthew and Jessica, affectionately known to locals as Mateo and Yessica: they all shared a similar pleasure in the beauty and warmth of Sayulita.

I get it! By the time we sat for our last dinner of pulpo al pastor at our favorite beach-side palapa, the hipster dj playing the town's mellowest psychedelic vibes was inviting us to a party the next weekend.

Within the magic of Sayulita, Cineteca stands apart. The rooms are a jungle wonderland. One morning, we sat on our immaculate patio at treetop level watching giant raven-looking birds sunning themselves in the morning light when along came a resplendent quetzal. We almost didn't believe it until, one by one, it was joined by an entire flock.

Down below, at poolside, we took up morning yoga beside a fountain tucked away in a butterfly garden. Afterward, we'd cool off in the pool before heading out for the beach. And if massage's your thing, be sure to ask Matthew and Jessica for their recommendation. We went as often as we could to their favorite masseuses (five sisters with awesome tattoos including coffee on one thumb and a doughnut on the other).

Even if we'd never left our room to explore the nearby beaches (which are utter bliss) we would have been happy in the spacious well-stocked kitchen, the beautifully tiled bathroom and the tasteful bedroom.

Truly, you can do no better. I plan to be back as soon as I can.

A Secluded Paradise
My girlfriend and I were eager to arrive at Hacienda De La Costa. Having spent the first part of our vacation in Puerto Villarta, we were excited to spend the remainder of our time relaxing in a more secluded location. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the owners and operators. They were helpful and kind to us from beginning to end.

Some of the highlights were relaxing by the wonderful pool, making friends with the other guests.

We enjoyed walking the 2 mile beaten path to town each day through the jungle. Most times we would take a taxi one way as it was most convenient at times. Other nights we would take the short walk down to the secluded beach where we would enjoy the sunsets without the hustle and bustle of crowds on the beaches in Sayulita.

We made great four legged friends on our trip as the hosts had 4-5 adorable dogs that were eager to come say hello when down by the pool. Not going to lie, we had thought about taking one home at one point ;)

Overall the trip was pleasant and a great escape from our priorities back home. We are excited to return again and build upon the relationships and experiences we had made. In my final thoughts I will say that the hosts help to make this stay truly unforgettable. Always helpful and onsite, they work hard to make sure your experience is one that you will take with you for a very long time.

Cheers,

Hidden Gem
What a nice and lovely place, the perfect location as you can go easy to Sayulita town (a car is needed or a taxi) but you're staying in a very quiet, peaceful place. Here you'll feel the jungle, the ocean... and a family! It's a perfect place to relax and forget about the job-stress. During my stay, I went to Sayulita the first 2 days: that's enough because the town is beautiful and you can eat great, but there was a lot of people so after that I just wanted my peace back (it was Semana Santa). Here at HDLC you can forgot about holydays full of people, we drive to the beach (3 min) well equipped and there was 2 more "umbrellas" with families there, after a couple of hours nobody. The road to HDLC is so beautiful we stopped to take some pictures. So I can't recommend this place enough, and I hope it continues like this.

Best place ever
We enjoyed our fourth stay at Hacienda de la Costa (HDLC) in early March. We keep returning because this is a little piece of paradise. We adore the premises, have been privileged to get to know the owners over several years, and have a treasure trove of good memories from our visits to HDLC. The peace and quiet, bird watching, glimpses of whales and dolphins off-shore, and serenity of HDLC make for a soothing vacation. The pool is actually heated, unlike most you'll find, with solar panels discreetly tucked away nearby, ensuring that it is always comfortable yet refreshing. The owners will help with advice, arrangements and directions, but will also leave you to your own devices if you know what's up. We will be back.

Amazing Stay
We had an amazing stay at Hacienda de la Costa. It was even better than we expected. The hosts were great and provided helpful information, with a perfect balance of communication and privacy. We booked the Arboles room, which was very comfortable and had a full kitchen and living room. The grounds are gorgeous. We were VERY happy with our booking and our decision to stay just far enough away from town to avoid the mayhem and noise. OH, and don't even get me started about the access to basically private beaches....

Secluded Paradise
Off the beaten track, yet easily accessible. Probably best to have a car for the most freedom, but if you just want to relax and stay at the Hacienda, it is perfection. The views, hosts, pool, and accommodations are the BEST!
Having friendly dogs was a plus for us as we missed ours. Hosts are always available, extremely helpful, and exceptionally amazing hosts. We can't say enough about the charm of this place

Favorite place..ever!
Dreamy oasis away from the noise and crowds. The hosts are incredible hosts who make you feel safe and comfortable and will help with any arrangements you need to make. Walk through the jungle road to town or to the private beach. If you need a taxi to get out, Steve will call one for you, or you can rent a car. (We recommend a Rav 4 or Hyundai Creta.) There are many things to see and do in the area. Oh...and did I tell you this was our 4th visit to Hacienda de la Costa and it won't be our last if we have anything to say about it!!

Most amazing vacation spot!
We stayed here this past February and had the most wonderful and relaxing time. Hacienda is the perfect combination of a quiet hideaway with secluded, private beaches and a lively surfer town just a short walk away. We enjoyed some quiet pool time. We would then venture off to one of the many private beaches within a 10-15 min walk from the property. The beaches are pristine and there were barely ever anybody there, perfect for relaxing! During nights we would walk into town (35-45 min walk) which included awesome trails through the jungle, much of which is well maintained and safe. We'd then enjoy a night out in the hustle and bustle of Sayulita, great food and culture! We would 100% come back to the Hacienda, it was such a special place with many furry companions and the most gracious of hosts. The property and rooms are clean and very well maintained, the views are insane!! Thank you, we hope to see you soon!

Bio Please mention SayulitaLife
We have traveled, lived and worked, in many places around the world. France. Australia. Spain. Nepal. England. Holland. And all over the US: Idaho, Colorado, New York, California, Washington and New England. Having long dreamed of raising our family in a small beach community in a different country, Sayulita spoke to us in ways that few places have. Our desire to live here was immediate. Less clear was how to make that happen! When we met Steve and Terri, retired expats whose vision and commitment built Hacienda de La Costa into the jewel that it is, the connection was clear. Respecting what they had created, yet wanting the small hotel to reflect our personality and imagination, we have re-christened it Cinetica (Spanish for “Kinetic”); energy through motion. We hope you love visiting us as much as we will love hosting you, inviting you into our small slice of paradise, and sharing with you why we chose Sayulita for our family.
