Named after the Huichol Goddess of Life, Galeria Tanana specializes in unique Huichol art and high fashion designer jewelry. The store was created by anthropologist/ jewelry designer Susana Valadez in order to raise funds for her non-profit project, the Huichol Center for Cultural Survival and Traditional Arts.
The museum quality art and beaded jewelry promotes the rescue, conservation and documentation of this endangered tribe, which includes a school for Huichol children where they learn to value their cultural heritage and language.
All purchases sustain Huichol Center projects, which raise the quality of life in the Huichol communities.
