MarPlata opened its doors to the public in October, 2005. Since then, guests have been delighted by the incredible arrangement of cuisine, space, color, art, and atmosphere to delight all five senses with high end mexican fusion cuisine in a chic bohemian ambience. Since November 2018 the new head chef Ramsés Manneck (Wagner & Industry Standard, Berlin) took over the kitchen and general operations of the restaurant.
Chef Manneck has worked for over a decade in Europe, cooking alongside some of the best chefs in the world and opening some of Germany ́s most critically acclaimed restaurants.
Nostalgia is what brought back Chef Ramsés back to where it all started (his first steps in the culinary world were at Mar Plata while visiting his sister in law Amandine) and San Pancho is the stage where all his new creations will be put to the test.
British Bartender Tony Galea (Best New Bartender in Germany 2016, Mixology Awards) came along for the adventure together with the Chef Alberto León (Panaderia Rossetta, Mx) in pastry and floor manager Teseo F. West who will be in charge of making the whole dining experience even more memorable.

With the capacity of hosting up to 100 guests at its facilities, MarPlata offers its experience for the organization of special events including weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, or family reunions. Ask about the specialty cooking services for your very own casa or vacation rental villa.

Amandine Darmstaedter and Ed Barlow devoted a mutual commitment to create a restaurant using superior quality ingredients prepared in a kitchen measuring up to the highest level of international standards. The use/design of space has been carefully created from the conceptual ideas of Amandine applied with the knowledge and skill of designer Carlos Cole.
