who would have thought?
This hidden gem is on the second floor and has an open air feeling. Our waiter Fernando made our evening even more enjoyable! The food was exquisite! Especially the shrimp croquets! I could have kept ordering them! Special drinks were a delight! We HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

Nice NYE dinner with family
We had a very nice evening at Matiz. The staff was very attentive, our table was set and ready for us when we arrived with the two high chairs we requested, the drinks were delicious and the food was pretty good, especially the steak, pork tenderloin and shrimp croquettes. It was a nice place to have an early dinner with great atmosphere.

Great food, awesome service in a perfect location
On a recent trip to Sayulita (our 4th visit to this amazing village) we were introduced to Matiz and were thrilled to see such a great restaurant in this seemingly quiet location, steps from the beach. We were there on a Thursday night and worked our way thru their Tapas menu. Every dish was excellent, prepared to perfection and excellent service.
Could not have wished for a better evening, cannot wait for our next visit.

PS- also Thursday was Lady's night with an awesome DJ

Tapas are amazing!
We came to Matiz 3 nights in a row when we visited Sayulita. Their drink menu was delicious and we tried every tapa on the menu. Our favorite were the fried shrimp balls. Their fish and chips was a nice break from the basic chips and guacamole appetizer in Mexico. We hope this restaurant does well in Sayulita. We would highly recommend it!

Great ambiance and delicious food!
With a Spanish influenced menu, great cocktails, attentive service, and a wonderful open air atmosphere, Matiz is one of Sayulita's best restaurants. The location is open air yet off the street and away from traffic and passersby. Loved it and cant wait to go back!

Fantastic menu & romantic setting!
I love going to Matiz in Sayulita! This restaurant is tucked away in a small plaza right before the beach, yet it's still secluded enough to enjoy an evening out without the loud noises of downtown. Their menu is delicious and their tapas are some of my favs! I had no idea I'd be able to fully indulge in spanish food when I moved to Mexico. Their crispy octopus is my go-to.

Service is always attentive without being pushy and the majority of the staff speaks fluent Spanish and English.

This is the perfect place to bring your girls out for a cocktail and some tapas! Will definitely be coming back.
