The night was buzzing with excitement on Wednesday, March 11th, as approximately 270 partygoers attended the 10th annual Pro Sayulita Fundraiser. Don Pedro’s palapa was transformed into a sea of color, with bright, bold colors in shades of blue, pink, purple, orange, and green, in the form of cloth table coverings, handmade paper flower centerpieces, and decorations galore. Most people were dressed to the nines, though it wouldn’t be Sayulita if the few in shorts and flip flops weren’t in attendance.

Tasty appetizers were served by Don Pedro’s staff as people chatted, laughed, and made new friends. The sit down dinner was delicious and was generously donated by Don Pedro’s, as was all the other food.

One of the highlights of the night was the live auction, auctioneered by Rollie Dick. People bid on great items, such as a framed encaustic painting by local artist, Zoey Pierce of Z Galeria, a two-night stay at La Tranquila, and even a week’s stay in a lovely house in France. Rollie’s charismatic personality and auctioneering skills kept the hands rising.

Additional money was raised through the mercado, which had a large number and variety of items for sale. People also pledged money for the beach safety program to go towards the purchase of an ATV, jet skis, and a trailer.

“Everybody at Pro Sayulita is so happy that all of our friends and supporters, especially the Pueblo Magico members, came to the event. It was nice to relax and to have fun. Everyone went home happy and we’re going to be able to support a lot of village projects,” shared Jack Jones, President of Pro Sayulita. Cheryl Vaughan, Vice President of Pro Sayulita, added, “A great big thank you to everyone who attended our 10th annual Pro Sayulita event this past Wednesday night. We all think it was our biggest and best ever! Certainly a special treat was to have an encore performance of Rollie Dick as the auctioneer...he can sell snow to people living in the north! The food and venue were fabulous, thanks to Nick and Damien from Don Pedro's. Then everyone danced the night away with music from our great DJ.”

If you haven’t already donated, please consider a partial “tax supplement” and make a generous donation today to this organization that the entire village of Sayulita is so fortunate to maintain.
