The 12th annual Grupo Pro Sayulita's fundraising fiesta is quickly approaching and will be held on Wednesday, March 29th at 6:00 p.m. at Don Pedro's Brisa Mar Palapa. "This is such a magical venue. We are very fortunate to once again be so generously supported by Don Pedro’s," exclaimed Janice Parker, head of the Beach Safety Program and one of the Fiesta volunteers instrumental in orgranizing this event.

How will the funds raised from this Fiesta benefit the community of Sayulita?

Our general funds raised will support safety, health, and beauty in Sayulita, including Traffic Control, Garbage Collection, Police and Bomberos, Lifeguard Training, SayultiAnimals, Campamento Tortuguero, and MORE!

The entertainment for the Fiesta is quite impressive this year. Will you tell us more about it?

We are very excited to announce the signing of Los Bambinos, a very well-known 5-piece band from Puerto Vallarta. The four brothers in the group started their careers as singers on buses and in local restaurants. They play an eclectic mix of Latino and Rock. They sure know how to get people on the dance floor! This year’s Fiesta will be the dance party of the year!

What is the dress attire for the Fiesta?

Tropical casual. There is no theme for the event, so put on your party clothes and get ready to dance!

What is one of your favorite memory from past Pro Sayulita Fiestas?

The second Pro Sayulita Fiesta I attended and worked on was in 2013. That year, I realized the generosity of the people in Sayulita was enormous! We raised enough money that night to buy three rescue boards for the lifeguards. I had hoped to raise enough to buy one. When I counted the money at the end of the night, I was overwhelmed and cried tears of joy and thanks.

How much does a Fiesta ticket cost and what is included in the price of the ticket?

1000 pesos gets you in the door with one free drink. Tapas will be served and of course there will be plenty of dancing! There will be items for sale in a silent auction.

Where can one purchase their ticket to the Pro Sayulita Fiesta?

Tickets are available at La Hamaca, Don Pedro’s and the Pro Sayulita table at the Friday Mercado del Pueblo.  Pro Sayulita Board members are also selling tickets.

Anything else you’d like to add?

My husband, Tom, and I have been so blessed to be able to call Sayulita our winter home for the past seven years. Although we are going through some tough transitions in the pueblo at the moment, I believe in the strength and generosity of everyone in the village. Together, we all make a difference!
