The 9th Season of Live Theater Sayulita, produced at Villas Sayulita, filled the house for two performances and raised approximately $1,000 U.S.D. for local charities. “The Sayulita Radio Hour” featured two old-time radio show skits, “Fibber McGee and Molly” and “The Bickersons,” and two premiere plays, “The Very Committed Marriage” and “Too Hot to Handle.”

Audiences were entertained by actors who changed roles, personalities, and voices as they played different parts; and by the foley table, which provided the sound effects. Pat Garfas and Carol Ashwell were kept on their toes making the noises of a closet pouring out it’s contents, rain and thunder storms, slamming doors and more.

Live Theater Sayulita is in the planning stages for its 10th Season. Some of the actors and long-time production people will be stepping back, so new actors are needed. There will be auditions, to be scheduled after a planning meeting the second week in April. If you are interested in “Acting for the good of the community,” (the LTS slogan), keep your eyes peeled for announcements on how you can participate.

This year, benefits will go to the Primaria (primary school), the Bahia de Banderas Women’s Shelter, and the Sayulita Auxiliary Life Guard program.
