Do you ever wonder where your donations to Pro Sayulita end up? Well, here is one of the many projects underway at the moment that your dollars and pesos are supporting. Cyd Viator, our Lifeguard Tower designer and builder, has been working tirelessly since he arrived here on December 1st 2018. Cyd has selflessly volunteered his time to us and has been working solo on this project. He is currently building the last three lifeguard towers for the project at El Centro Creativo Sayulita, working seven hours a day, six days a week!
This is truly a project that epitomizes the idea of “working together”! Cyd’s airfare and accommodation have been supplied by In the Looking Glass, a non-profit based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The workspace where he is constructing the towers has been donated by El Centro Creativo, and all the supplies and building materials were purchased with the money you, and others like you in our community have donated to Pro Sayulita. However, we still need your help! We are still short about $3,500 USD. Donations may be made to our GoFundMe page. Any amount helps!
Cyd is a native of California who has spent the last 40 plus years as a Construction Superintendent in Arizona in the Phoenix area. He discovered Sayulita a few years ago, and obviously has a special place in his heart for our little Pueblo. His brief visit to Sayulita (just sixty days this year) is for the sole purpose of building the lifeguard towers. He will be heading back to the United States at the end of this month so that he can spend precious and quality time with his new born twin grandchildren.
Pro Sayulita, on behalf of the people in our Pueblo Magico, wishes to extend our greatest gratitude for Cyd’s tireless effort to this project. What a great gift and legacy he is leaving for us all here in Sayulita!
Pro Sayulita is a non-profit volunteer organization focusing on projects and initiatives including the police, bomberos (fire dept.), ambulance, SayulitAnimals, Campamento Tortuguero (turtle camp), beach safety/ lifeguard program, sewer and water system, recycle center, government center, tourist police and much more.
