Whether you rent in Sayulita, own your own home, or manage vacation rentals, we all know how expensive our electricity bills can get, especially in our hot and humid months when we might be running the air conditioning longer than normal. After a couple of eye-popping electricity bills, like me, you may have tried different things to try to reduce your use of appliances and air conditioning units in order to lower costs. However, sometimes, it is just unavoidable to have cool air constantly running to keep people comfortable. Luckily, Cuby Aria in Sayulita presents a very logical solution: smart air-conditioning management systems.

I LOVE living here in Sayulita! There are always trucks driving by offering fresh vegetables, fruits, shrimp, fish, tamales, etc. Yesterday I heard a truck selling fresh fish, and I just had to see what I could make with it for dinner. A beautiful, fresh fish caught that morning was waiting to be made into a wonderful fish soup. I had the fish descaled by the seller, and for just $80 pesos, I had the base for my fish soup dinner! I had never made a fish soup before, but thought it would be fun to try. I decided to roast the fish in a foil packet to get as much flavor out of it as possible. You will love this recipe!

There is no one who desperately seeks comfort & relaxation like a pregnant woman! I recently had the pleasure to indulge myself in a lovely prenatal massage at Buddha Spa in Sayulita. Even though I’ve lived in Sayulita for years, I had never been to the spa before. It was a great experience to be able to see it through the eyes of a first-timer or person who may be on vacation in Sayulita looking for an awesome way to relax. With a wide variety of spa services and packages offered, as well as a boutique full of boho-chic women’s clothing and accessories, it is clear why Buddha Gallery & Spa has a reputation for being the best in Sayulita.

Each month Sayulita Life gives back to our community. For the month of April of 2021, Sayulita Life has chosen to donate to the Sayulita Jaibos Baseball team. The Jaibos Baseball team has officially been participating in the Nayarit Baseball League for the last six years, but has a long tradition of playing in Sayulita. Ran entirely through contributions and volunteers, the team is always in need of extra community help and support. Eduardo Castillon Guerra, President of the team and President of the Administration of the Manuel Rodríguez Sanchez Stadium (Sayulita’s Baseball Stadium), explains that the donation from Sayulita Life will help to purchase expensive and much needed equipment for the team.

A few weeks ago my husband and I set out for Puerto Vallarta in the early morning hours. As we drove through the neighboring town of San Ignacio I noticed hand lettered signs along the highway for a local bakery, “El Columpio”. The name piqued my curiosity, El Columpio – The Swing. Soon my mind had drifted to other thoughts as I watched the first motions of a small town waking up. Workers boarded a bus, children held their mother’s hands as they walked towards the small grocery store, and dogs milled about as if they too had a scheduled routine to maintain.

Each month Sayulita Life gives back to our community. For March, 2021, Sayulita has chosen the Trashion Fashion fundraiser as our donation recipient. Trashion Fashion began just a couple years ago as a means to raise funds for Sayulita’s recycling program, and to get the community involved in recycling and to spread awareness about its importance. The concept quickly became a hit, as volunteer participants worked together to create fashionable looks out of trash or recycled items to be shown off in a fun runway fashion show for the community. Lina Weissman, creative director, tells us more about the event and how Sayulita Life’s donation will help the recycling program in Sayulita.
