Description

Casa Lilia at Casa Selvatica is located in the private and 24/7 gated community of Punta del Burro, 20 minutes south of Sayulita, 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, 5 minutes south of Punta Mita and 10 minutes north of the fishing village (and new Marina) La Cruz de Huanacaxtle - all located in Riviera Nayarit. It is the second to the last house in the Burros community, on almost an acre of land in a palm forest adjacent to a river bed and sits in front of one of the area's best surf beaches: 200 yards to the right of the house is the well-known surf point called "Burros". Directly in front of the house is a very forgiving wave perfect for learners - with another mostly left break in between.

Punta del Burro is one of the earliest Punta Mita developments, which accounts for both its charm and its isolation – it is not adjacent to any town or village, and, as the rest of Punta Mita, it is far from any of the problems currently associated with border towns and other urban centers in Mexico. It is private, it is safe, and you will experience the luxury of being able to watch the surf and enjoy the sunsets over the pacific.

Casa Lilia at Casa Selvatica is one of 4 casitas on the property. Just behind the beautiful main Villa, Casa Selvatica, in the palm tree forest, are the bungalows that have a slight view of the ocean through the palm trees and out the creek bed. Casa Lilia, which sits at the top of the path down to the beach, is a studio with a queen bed, A/C and a great kitchenette, indoor and outdoor showers, and an outdoor patio with table and chairs. The cottage is very beautiful, comfortable, cozy and works great for a couple or single person.

*Please note, although we do rent the bungalows separately, priority is given to those that wish to rent the entire property. Please check calendar for reservations on entire property - i.e. Casa Lilia not available.

AUTO:  our administrator has fully insured cars he can make available to you also at reasonable rates.  He will pick you up at the airport, stop by the market if you wish, bring you home, give you a tour of the property and leave you with the car.

SURFBOARDS/SUPS & OTHER TOYS:  There are boogie boards, snorkels/fins and an Italian competition ping pong table on the property.    We have a quiver with over 25 surfboards (longboards, shortboards, funboards and long and short soft tops for learning!  And we have four Paddle Boards - all of which you can rent while you are at the house,  And we have a great teacher who has been known to have a student standing all the way in on the right or left wave directly in front of the house.  We have 3 longboards and 2 shortboards reserved for experienced surfers. We also provide yoga mats.

WIFI & PHONE SERVICE:  we have a high-speed wireless internet connection via a newly installed fiber optic cable system. We also have a Vonage phone from which you can call anywhere in the U.S or Canada, as well as a Telmex Mexican phone line for local calls. Most cell phones will work out at the property, even on the beach.

If you enjoy walking through gardens and palm forests, you can find at the back of the property many varieties of bananas, papayas, pineapples, oranges, lemons, limes, limas, tangerines, grapefruit, lychees, passion fruit, guavas, guanabanas (cheramoyas), mangos and avocados. Given the incredible growth patterns in the tropics, many of the trees are starting to bear and you may find your own 100 lb. bunch of bananas hanging in front of the house.  Depending on the time of year, you might also find a vegetable garden full of many varieties of lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, peas and many herbs: basil, oregano, parsley, chives, cilantro, etc.

The beauty of this property is that not only is it sitting directly on the sand in front of one of the area's best surf breaks, but it borders a lush tropical creek bed with paths that go back through bamboo patches and palm trees ending up in an orchard surrounded by pink and orange bougainvillea plants - a true paradise for surfers, beach lovers, bird watchers, photographers, nature lovers and anyone who relishes the privacy and solitude afforded by a spectacular property and house located at the end of the road!

Punta del Burro is a small community of about 20 houses, not attached to a town or village and thus provides excellent security.  It has a gatehouse with guards 24/7.  The beach is very private with few people on the sand and around five surf breaks from one end to the other.  And to repeat, it is about 20 minutes to Sayulita and 5 to Punta Mita.

Depending on the time of year and your wishes/number of guests, you may rent the main house or one or more of the bungalows (casitas). We have various combinations to make it work for you. Please consider our other rental options on the Casa Selvatica Estate:

Better than advertised!
First off the pictures do not do this property justice! We were blown away by the magical design and architecture. The property is situated oceanfront yet it is tucked away in the jungle where it feels extremely private and safe. We stayed here with my husband, my 2 kids (ages 3 and 1) and another friend and there was more than enough space - we could have easily had another family and several more friends. Lori was extremely responsive to all of our inquiries, Pablo offered door-to-door service from the airport and a rental car directly which was a huge help, and Susannah not only cleaned the house every day but also watched our 1 year old while we explored the surrounding towns. We loved cooking meals every night in the fully equipped open kitchen and could not have asked for a better location to spend our vacation. My husband and buddy caught great waves directly out front too at Punta del Burro. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely Amazing Experience
Words can't effectively describe how grateful we are that Lori rents this incredible home! Casa Selvatica and everyone who is associated with it - Pilas, Susanna, Pablo, Ivan, Roberto, Chef Octavio and his team - are truly the most outstanding vacation rental we have ever experienced - and we have rented beautiful homes in the Icelandic countryside and the heart of Kyoto. The house is designed to be almost hidden in the landscape - rather than imposed upon it - and when we opened the shutters every morning downstairs - it was like we were one with the jungle and beach. Everything about Casa Selvatica - the plates, the linens, the flow of the house, the beach, the palapas - is just what you need. It is truly heaven.

And having Pablo and his team to pick you up and take you back to the airport and for daily check-ins and recommendations - was just what we needed. The grocery store in Bucerias was so well stocked that we were able to shelter in place and surf/paddle board/walk on the quiet and secluded beach - for our week. We so want to return sometime when the virus is under control so that we can explore more of Nayarit and Punta Mita - but we are so grateful to have been able to experience the amazing sanctuary Lori and her team have nurtured at Casa Selvatica.

Better than heaven
Casa Selvatica is so wonderful. As a surfer, if I had to choose between heaven and this place, I'd be on my way here without any hesitation. The location is amazing, and the surrounding area is a treat. It's a pleasant drive up to Sayulita (go by way of Litibu, it's a nicer drive than through La Cruz) and the beachfront restaurants in nearby Punta de Mita are delish. We wished we could have stayed here the entire month. Thanks Lori!

I deal getaway for a group or family
It is hard to say in a few words how much we loved this place. After our first day, we were trying to figure out when we could make plans to come back. Of the eight of us staying there, I was the only surfer. For me, it was paradise. Walk out to the beach to surf and then back to the house for breaks. I usually did 3 sessions a day. Everyone else walked the beach, hung out at house, or swam in the ocean. There are so many surfboards available, there is one that will work for you. There are also plenty of water toys for non-surfers.

Pablo, the house manager, took such good care of us including arranging to have Octavio cook 3 meals a day for us. I HIGHLY recommend hiring Octavio to cook. All food was amazing. Susana kept the house so clean and tidy. She was like an elf. We did not see her too much but you could always tell that she had been there because it was so nicely kept.

We are really looking forward to getting back.

Beyond Impressed
WOW. This place is a dream. Lori has created an incredibly special place to connect with the beautiful nature of Nayarit, from the jungle to the ocean. We loved waking up in the morning to surf, the lightning at night, and the lush greenery on the property. Punta del Burros is an excellent point break right, and you can literally walk 2 min down the beach from the house to surf!! The other huge bonus here is the incredible team that takes such good care of you during your stay. Pablo is your house manager and can arrange for anything you'd like -- massage, chef, surf lessons, surf rentals, car rentals, fresh coconuts from trees on the property, and more. Susana cooked for us all week and her food was delicious!! It was a total dream, and so incredibly easy for us. We can't wait to come back. Muchas gracias para todo!!!

Wonderful place to stay in Mexico!
My boyfriend and I stayed in Casa Buena Suerte for 2 amazing weeks. This property is truly a beautiful oasis. It is set in a well maintained jungle setting and steps down to a pristine beach.
Casa Buena Suerte has everything you need including a beautiful bedroom with king bed, comfortable sitting area, nice bathroom, patio table and seats with a view of the beach.
The Kitchenette is equipped with almost anything you need to make meals including small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, toaster oven, and plug in double burners with all the dishes and pans you need. The housekeeper comes in every day to clean, take out garbage, replace water, and make our beds. When there were others staying in the main house, we were able to have a big group dinner cooked by the housekeeper and it was delicious for a very reasonable price! All of the staff and the owner who helped us during our stay were also really generous and kind people.

The beach in front of the house is semi-private in that there is a security guard patrolling it so there are none of the usual vendors you see elsewhere at other mexican beaches. You also can generally leave your stuff out and no one touches it. You can surf right in front of the house or just walk a few minutes and you are at the main surfing spot at Punta Burros. When we were there it was a little treacherous to play in the water as the waves can be big, and there is a rocky reef that you have to navigate. I was able to boogie board when the tide was low, and you can always walk down the way to the hotel and swim in their sandier beach.

This place is a gem and we hope to be able to return soon!

Absolutely incredible! Exceeded all expectations!
Wow! Casa Selvatica and the accompanying 'Casas' were incredible. There is no place quite like this. You are situated right on the beach next to a couple surf breaks (Burros, and smaller break right out front). If you like to surf, then this is the place for you.

Pablo, Jovana, Abel and Lori were such a pleasure to work with. So knowledgable about the area. Pablo did such a fantastic job of arranging cars, picking us up/dropping us off at the airport, and arranging Octavio to cook for us. Oh. My. Gato. Octavio (the chef) and his family cooked us the best meals we had while in Mexico. While Sayulita and surrounding areas were great, you cannot beat his meals. He buys all groceries, cooks the food, and manages all clean up. Perfect for our group of 11.

Sal y Pepe (the cats) were also crowd favorites! Such personalities and they loved being pet and played with. Waking up to them curled up in bowls was such a sight! They also do an incredible job of keeping insects, mice and other critters out of the house.

Punta del Burros is a beautiful spot. Secluded & Authentic. I would not want to stay anywhere else in the area. This is perfect.

The pictures do not do this place justice. It blew away all expectations. Best vacation we have had in years!

Wow, just wow!
Wow, what a paradise! First they set you up. Roberto picked us up at the airport, and patiently waited at the Mega Mart while we stocked up on groceries and got some cash. The house itself is a comfortable work of art, that is so well situated in the palms that you have all the privacy you could ask for, and can always keep cool from the shade. The other thing that contributes to the privacy is how the house sits perfectly up above the beach. The details in the house and guest house are so unique. That indoor / outdoor kitchen, and the outdoor sink, are two things that really stood out. Lori and her staff have all the details covered. It was our first trip to a foreign country with our 10 month old, and it couldn't have been more safe or perfectly suited for a family. Pablo was willing to help us out in any way. He and Roberto set us up with two play pen cribs,, and a baby chair, and we could totally trust Jovana to even baby sit for us a little bit (my wife and wanted to surf together a couple times). Pablo also set us up with a great little rental car, and it being my birthday, we hired Octavio to prepare an amazing meal, while looking over the ocean. I am a surfer, and I was impressed with their board selection. It covers all ranges - short boards, hybrids and long boards. They also have standup paddle boards. The breaks up and down the beach are awesome. The Burros right is world class, but I had an amazing left pretty much to myself, just across the channel that you paddle out. Pay attention to Lori's suggestions as well. "Tacos on the Street" is super tasty and fun, and "Margaritas" in Punta De Minta is a great little place right on the beach. This is a place we will continue to come back to no question. I miss our evening family walks on the secluded beach, the morning and evening surfs, and the warm and friendly staff. I almost forgot. We loved Mila, the German Sheppard and the two adorable cats. It is a special place!
