Loved it!
We stayed for 10 days/nights in April 2021 - my husband, son and dad. Found it enchanting. I have been coming to Sayulita since 2007 and have slowly migrated away from the loud - so this was perfect. WIFI worked fine, service was prompt when needed and we thoroughly enjoyed our jungle hideaway. Lovely bedrooms and linens the birdsong was delightfully cacophonous. We rented a golf cart for faster back and forth but we used to walk to Om Yoga way back when from south beach so it's about the same distance- but as my dad wasnt having it- the electric golf cart worked great, we could plug it in at night.

Do not stay here.
The house is beautiful, don’t get me wrong. However. There were spiders the size of my face or bigger, I understand we were in the jungle but we found four tailless whip spiders in our rooms, along with three Scorpians. The WiFi does not work at all, it’s ran off solar so barely electricity. I can deal with all of that. I kindly asked for a refund so we could move houses because we couldn’t sleep with the bugs or without WiFi. The owner did refund me, we ended up staying one more night. I has wrote to the manager telling him this and letting him know I would send the money for one night back. He was so rude it was unbelievable. Accused me of stealing. It gets worse. He then threatened me. Showed up at the house after texting me threats. I informed him as soon as I got WiFi I would send the money back. He came angry and yelling. Threatening me is something I don’t stand for. He told me to “ watch my back” “ be scared, this is mexico”. I have never felt so scared in my life. I left sayulita because of his threats. I contacted the owner and she laughed when I told her this. Even though I have text and witnesses to prove. I contacted airbnb and sayulita life to have to listing taken down immediately. I have been to 40 countries and never been so disrespected or scared. It ruined my trip. I couldn’t be more clear about this. Do not stay here.

Unique & memorable
So unique...This is definitely not your average little beach town accommodation! You are in the jungle with all that a jungle offers - sights, sounds, flora and, of course, fauna. Going to/from town requires a relatively short walk (unless you have a golf cart), much of which is on a dirt road - the steep part of which leads to/from the house and like with any dirt road can be a little unsteady or slippery. It is hot and humid in the Sayulita jungle in the summer but the bedrooms have floor fans that help! Hosts Luciana and Rene are wonderfully communicative and responsive. If you’re looking for an adventure, this fits the bill!

Beyond Impressed
A really nice peaceful casa in Sayulita. Super clean and beautifully designed. The host was super attentive and we loved it so much we just bought groceries and cooked at the house rather than eat in town. We would highly recommend it.

Amazing retreat in the jungle with hospitable, responsive staff!
Great off-grid retreat in the jungle yet minutes away from downtown Sayulita and the beach. For those with EMF sensitivities, this is the most protected space you’ll get in the area! Healing, submerged in nature and low EMF footprint were all things super important to our stay that Casa Tambores met. Add in the bonus of an amazing staff and you’ll feel well cared for and nourished in this jungle bungalow. Thank you for a great stay!

That's what I call a vacation
Quiet and secure jungle retreat. It's a bit of a walk into town, but interesting. Kitchen and dining facilities in the house are limited but adequate. The housekeeping and property management service is beyond expectation, really a pleasure. Consider renting a car, one that you'll be comfortable driving on narrow, rough unpaved roads in town and the country if you don't want to spend too much time in the town of Sayulita, which has become a bit like Puerto Vallarta. Or just stay at the house and listen to the birds. Watch for chachalaca birds. The patio at night is heaven. And almost no mosquitoes!
