Casa de Tortugas accommodation details:
Casa de Tortugas is a three-story, 3000 sq ft, newly remodeled beachfront Inn on a large, gated property, with stone walkways and extensive tropical gardens. There are 4 units, all with spectacular views overlooking the ocean and adjacent marina.
The downstairs unit - "Familia" - has 3 large bedrooms, 2 new baths, a lovely kitchen and large living area. Upstairs there are 3 separate king suites, each with mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. They have air conditioning, ceiling fans, large bathrooms featuring large ocean-view showers with soaking tubs and an open-air concept. These rooms share a very large patio with a palapa-covered outdoor kitchen.
You can rent a single unit or the entire building. It can sleep up to 15, and is a great location for a wedding or reception or larger group. It offers one of the best locations in Chacala and nearly all rooms have amazing ocean views.
Our top level is a huge, palapa-covered penthouse patio with amazing sunrise and sunset views for guests in all the units to enjoy. You can see whales breach while relaxing in a hammock or while eating at our equipale leather dining set. There is an outdoor gas grill and outdoor tropical shower for the use of all guests. Our delightful, English-speaking house manager can arrange for activities, transportation, laundry service and to have meals prepared for you for an additional fee.
Casa de Tortugas features an incredible, Infinity-edge pool blending into the blue Pacific Ocean with beach towels and comfortable lounging furniture provided under pool-side palapas. At night you can watch the fireflies while swimming in the pool overlooking the ocean.
It is just a short, two minute walk along the ocean to the beach and restaurants, and a 3 minute walk in the other direction takes you to the surf and whale-watching boats. The small, calm childrens play beach is steps from the front gate.
La Playa Chacala has a lovely smooth sandy beach, and is calm and great for swimming, skim boarding, or eating at one of the restaurants on the beach. Some afternoons a small surf kicks up which makes for fun boogie boarding and even some surfing. Many people are content to just stay on the property, sitting on a lounger under a palapa around the lovely pool, taking in the view and admiring the tropical gardens. Catch a whiff of gardenia, tuck a hibiscus behind your ear, sip a lovely beverage and enjoy!
WHY COME TO CHACALA?
Chacala is an authentic town of 500 on on of the most beautiful bays in the Mexican Riviera. Quaint – Beautiful – Sunny – and Warm year-round, with temperatures between the 70’s and the 80’s, with evenings in the 60’s.
It's similar to how Sayulita was years ago – uncrowded beaches, inexpensive food and drink.
Uncrowded, yet close to Puerto Vallarta. 5 miles off Highway Mex200, 90 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, 45 minutes north of Sayulita.
A secret, off-the-beaten track destination, primarily for more well-to-do Mexican Nationals, Canadian Snowbirds, and other smart visitors who want to get away from it all.
Charming, slow paced, small town feel, and the alternative to the hustle and bustle of tourist destinations. Unlike tourist towns, in Chacala you’ll actually hear more Spanish spoken than English.
The little-known la Caleta surf break is less than 1 mile away, easily accessible by boat.
