Bio
Hello, my name is Lucy and for the last 10 years I have focused my energy into the study and practice of natural health and wellbeing. I work for myself as a private Therapist in Sayulita, however, I have come from Australia were I ran my own clinic and worked for 5-star health retreats. I have completed a Bachelor of Health Science-Acupuncture and a Diploma of Remedial massage.
With my firm belief in the power of human touch, I have also taken courses in Chinese remedial massage, Reiki, Qi Gong, Hot stone therapy and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage. With a thirst for more knowledge and skills I have seeked out many Japanese acupuncture masters whom I have trained with, developing my treatment approach and style, with a strong focus on pelvic re-alignment and women's health and fertility. The position of the pelvis is of most importance in one’s posture. If the pelvis is out of alignment then so to is the rest of the spine and surrounding musculature, as the foundation is not strong. Therefore, if you are experiencing pain and tension in any area of your musculature there is a strong possibility that your pelvis may be out of alignment. Acupuncture is remarkably effective at maintaining this pelvic stability and is less invasive than using Chiropractic manipulation and far less painful than a session with your physiotherapist. Pelvic stability refers to the ability of the trunk and hip/pelvic muscles to keep the spine and pelvis in optimal alignment during activity.  If these structures are kept in an optimal alignment, then the muscles and joints of the lower limbs are able to function properly.  If these structures are not kept in an optimal alignment, then the resultant poor joint and muscle function may lead to injury and pain in the spine and lower limbs.
Lucy decided to specialise in Japanese Meridian Therapy as the Japanese have studied, applied, and modified the theory and tools of Acupuncture and developed unique styles, which are much more refined and gentle. Japanese needling techniques generally involve thinner and smaller needles and employ shallower insertions and less stimulation than Chinese acupuncture. The Japanese believe in the importance of allowing the Ki to arrive harmoniously and therefore regulating the Ki, as apposed to chasing the Ki and over stimulating it. The Japanese have also refined the use of Moxibustion down to an art, using it in combination with needling for enhanced results. Consequently, most patients find that Japanese acupuncture is relaxing, pain-free and more effective.

Lucy’s treatments are unique in the way she combines her skills and styles. Acupuncture with Lucy will never feel cold, frightening or uncomfortable as Lucy places great importance on human touch and will, therefore, combine your acupuncture treatment with massage.  This combined treatment is results driven but also has the ability to re-connect us with our nature, enhance our awareness and bring us closer to our true self. More information of the styles of massage I practice

Remedial/Deep Tissue massage

This massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue, targeting more specific areas of muscle tightness and restrictions. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body. Direct deep pressure is applied to acupuncture points and along the natural flow of the meridians, eliminating knots and scar tissue caused by blood and Ki stagnation along the energy pathways. Lucy Gives a unique deep tissue massage as she incorporates her knowledge and awareness of the meridian systems and acupuncture points to address internal disharmonies along with external musculoskeletal tension and misalignment.

Lomi Lomi

Lomi Lomi originated in the south pacific and was traditionally used during rites of passage as a transformational massage and healing system. What makes lomi lomi such a special style is the combination of movement, rhythm, breath, energy and massage, which ultimately leads to very powerful releases at all levels. This treatment is done primarily using the entire arm span, including forearms and elbows with long flowing strokes sweeping across the entire span of the body, moving stagnation at all levels- emotionally, physically and spiritually. Lomi lomi can be practiced as relaxation or deep tissue.

Hot stone massage

Hot stone massage is a unique treatment that when combined with the powerfulancient techniques of Hawaiian lomi lomi, it has the ability to re-connect us with nature, offering a sense of sensual sacredness and a unique moment that enhances our awareness and brings us closer to our true essence. By combining the long rhythmic strokes of a Hawaiian style massage with the glidingof hot stones along the body, this treatment has made hot stone therapy one of the most requested massage treatments around the world. Hot stone massage is unique, as the heat of the basalt stones warms the skin, which allows for absorption of moisturising and therapeutic oils, while simultaneously preparing the musculature of the body so the therapist can work into the deeper muscle layers. This treatment is unforgettable and truly beautiful.

Tui na- Chinese remedial massage

Tuina is an oriental bodywork therapy that has been used in china for thousands of years. Tuina uses the Traditional Chinese Medical Theory of Qi flow through the meridians or energy pathways in the body. Through the application of massage and acupressure along these meridians and acupuncture points, either as a dry massage or with minimal oil, Tuina seeks to move any stagnation, warm any cold, supplement any deficiency and ultimately establish a more harmonious flow of qi through the meridians. Tuina is unique in its focus on specific problems in the body, both internal and external, by working the specific meridians involved, making it more specific to your needs and, therefore, more therapeutic and beneficial for your entire being.

Acupuncture and Moxibustion

Oriental Medicine is an ancient medical system that takes a deep  understanding of the laws and patterns of nature and applies them to the  human body. It is a complete medical system that has been practiced for  thousands of years. The true foundation of Oriental Medicine is Ki, which loosely translates as vital  energy. Ki is considered to be the force that animates and informs all things. In the human body Ki flows through meridians, or energy pathways creating a continuous circuit linking internal organs and connecting the interior with the exterior. Dis-ease occurs when there is deficiency or excess of internal organs and disruption to this flow in the meridians. By stimulating key points on the body with needles, moxa or massage, internal organs are tonified, excesses are dispersed, blockages are removed and imbalances corrected, restoring harmony, balance and health.
At the heart of Oriental Medicine is the tenet that the root cause of illness, not there symptoms, must be treated. Therefore, it is holistic in its approach as it views every aspect of the person- mind, body, spirit and emotions- as part of one complete circle. Therefore, as your practitioner, I will take a full diet & lifestyle consultation and tongue and pulse diagnosis to assess the quality and strength of yin & yang, hot & cold, internal & external dis-ease states and deficient or excess conditions. Lucy will then make a diagnosis and choose a treatment approach according to your individual needs.

Amazing!!!!!!!!
I just recently spent 5 weeks in Sayulita and had Lucy visit 2 times a week. What an amazing experience it was. I suffer from Fibromyalgia really bad. Sometimes unable to do more then get out of bed. Lucy was able to help me to make it through the entire 5 weeks with no down time.
What an amazing spirit she is. Her hands are amazing and she has such a calming soul. Wish I could always have her available to me here at home.

Best. Massage. Ever.
My hour massage with Lucy was hands down the best massage I've ever had. She checked in to make sure she was giving me exactly what I needed, but didn't keep me talking which I very much appreciated. She used just enough pressure to really dig in to the spots I needed it, and made my body feel better in parts I didn't even know weren't feeling good. She was kind, thoughtful in her approach, holistic and warm. Thank you for everything, Lucy!

Exceptionally skilled practitioner
Before our trip to Sayulita, I arranged with Lucy to come to our rental to provide massages for the 4 members in our family. I've worked with a number of massage therapists over the years and Lucy is clearly at the top of the class. Her knowledge of the body and her ability to locate and address muscle tightness are both excellent. She communicates effectively to ensure the use of the proper amount of pressure and to address areas of concern. My body movement after her work was vastly improved and each of my family members expressed similar results.

She finds every knot
Lucy came to our rental house and gave massages to four in our group. Everyone had a relaxed glow over them as they left the massage table. I am really picky about the massages i like and she is amazing. She has very strong hands and finds all the knots you didn't even know you had. I wish I could find a massage therapist like her back home.

most soothing, therapeutic acupuncture I have ever received
I just had my first acupuncture session with Lucy. It was amazing. She is very knowledgable and has such a gentle, holistic touch. I felt truly pampered and rejuvenated. I would recommend her work to anyone looking to unwind and give their body and soul an amazing gift. I get body work often and this was one of the best experiences so far. I haven't been a huge fan of acupuncture in the past, mostly because I felt like it was painful and I didn't notice much of a positive change after. This session was totally different. Each needle felt perfectly placed and soothing. And I now feel energized and relaxed. I highly recommend Lucy!!

Such a great massage!
Lucy came to our hotel room to provide massages to my boyfriend and I just before Christmas. She was on time, polite and friendly. Quite simply, I had an awesome 90 minute massage. A great way to decompress and start our vacation. It was so good I set-up a 2nd appointment with her before she left. My boyfriend had the same experience. I would highly recommend you contact Lucy - she definitely knows what she is doing and your money will be well spent!
