'Let your spirit set sail upon the winds of your dreams...' Latcho and Andrea moved to Mexico two decades ago and fell in love with the beach at first sight. Before they met, Latcho and his friend Lobo, (of Willie and Lobo), performed in Europe and Mexico. Lobo moved to Mexico and sent numerous postcards to Latcho about the wonderful life he was living in Mexico. After Latcho and Andrea visited, they also landed in Mexico. Latcho and Andrea's name came from the title of one of their CDs, Gitans Blonds, inspired by a French brand of cigarettes. Since then they are known as the Blond Gypsies. With Latcho on guitar and Andrea accompanying him on guitar and castanets, they play and sing a gypsy-flamenco style of music. They currently perform in the Banderas Bay area (Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita, etc) November thru May; and June to October in the US and Europe. Latcho and Andrea have produced several CDs: *Latcho and the Gipsy Queens * Ohauaha * Gitans Blonds * Bahia Nights * Gipsy Gypsy * The Best of Latcho and Andrea *Flamingo Guitar * Los Ambienteros*. About LATCHO: Latcho learned how to play Spanish guitar from the masters of Flamenco while living at El Sacromonte, the gypsy quarter of Granada, Spain. Latcho traveled the south of France to find Manitas de Plata ("Little Hands of Silver" in Spanish), who was an eccentric-charismatic gypsy guitarist, and uncle of the Gipsy Kings. Latcho's band, Lailo, was joined by Antonico Reyes, a member of the famous Gipsy Kings family, and together they toured Europe. Latcho and Andrea spent time living and traveling in caravans among the gypsies, absorbing their musical secrets sitting around the campfires at night.
