Great experiance, made our trip!
We cannot say enough good things about Patty and the team at Capitan Pablo's! Patty was extremely accommodating especially when my boyfriend woke up with a stomach bug the morning we were supposed to go on our fishing trip; she simply said we could go the following day and we are so happy we were able to go. Our captain was William who was extremely helpful and fun! We caught a lot of red snappers, some spanish mackerel's and plenty of trumpet and needle fish. It was our last day so we left a majority of the fish for the crew, but we enjoyed our last dinner of red snapper and fresh ceviche at home! We highly recommend a fishing trip with Capitan Pablos!

Wonderful time with Captain Pablo's Fishing Tours
My wife, son, sister in law and myself went on a fishing charter with Lalo and Willy. Had a wonderful time overall. After catching a few fish the others fell seasick and we headed back to shore. Lalo and Willy however were kind enough to bring me back out and we finished off the morning catching a couple of Bonitas and a bunch of Red Snappers. The assistants worked hard to help me keep catching fish. Brought the extended family to Captain Pablo's Restaurant to feast on our catch - had a wonderful meal and a great time. I would definitely fish once again with them.

Most noteworthy though are both Patty and Capt Pablo. Hands down the kindest most sincere folks we've meet in Sayulita. Aside from being very accommodating with booking a fishing trip, They were even willing to take a bit of time out of their day to show my family and I a potential investment property. I love the story of how they ended up in Sayulita, and I can truly see how in love they are with the town. Their hospitality is a big reason why we plan to return to Sayulita over and over again. We are definitely sold!

Great fishing trip
Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) had a great morning fishing with Captain Pablo's fishing tours. Fernando was our captain for the day and he knew the right spots to find fish. We caught 27 fish, 3 different kinds and had a great time. The red snapper was delicious!

So fun, great service, great fishing and snorkeling
I emailed these folks fairly last minute and had a boat reserved for myself and my four friends in less than a day for the next morning.
We met at the boat and immediately were greeted, they asked us what we wanted to do the most and we came up with a plan and were told what to expect. We also had a fairly tight timeline where we needed to get back and they said "no problem".
We were put maybe 20 minutes and my friend caught the first fish of the day, a beautiful - nice sized red snapper! We wanted to get going to snorkeling for the non-fishing folks - and we went to a good area near Punta de Mita where we had calm waters and did some excellent snorkeling.
We zipped back and threw a couple more lines in the water and explores the shoreline and enjoyed some zippy boating before arriving back right on time.
Throughout it all our guide, William, was awesome. He's grown up in these waters and had great info and a great instinct on where to be and when. Out first mate Lalo was fun, knowledgeable and friendly and we all conversed quite easily.
Highly recommended for the "mixed" group of fishers, non fishers and just sightseers.
Bring sunscreen and refreshments and have a great time!

Always a great trip.
Last week was my third trip with Captain Pablo's outfit. We stay in Puerto Vallarta and it is WELL worth the trip up to Sayulita to fish. About a 50 minute, 650 peso cab ride from Marina Vallarta or a 35 peso bus trip. I cab it up there to be sure I'm on time and then bus it back. I prefer to fly fish and Pablo's guides know what to do. This is certainly not flats fishing--probably there will be chumming and gaffing and a delicious fresh fish lunch involved. Last week fly fishing was not in the cards, but two Roosterfish (one 25 lb.) and numerous Toros up to 20 lb. made for a very fun day. A great adventure!

Rooster Fish
The mahi mahi were not biting so we went close inshore around Escondido Beach in search of Rooster fish. What an amazing morning fishing. Two Rooster fish (25 and 20 lbs) plus three Toros from 15 to 20 lbs!!!

An excellent morning of fishing with a great operator in Captain Pablo.

Thanks Patty and the crew.

Awesome fishing with Fernando and brother
Very knowledgeable and helpful. Accommodated my fishing partner who had mobility problems. Very considerate and made the trip enjoyable for him too. Fernando filleted the fish for us and Patty gave us a Ride on her four wheeler to the bus. We caught 3 Mahi Mahi. One 23 kgs! Enjoyed the day so much booked again one week later and caught 2 more. Would definitely recommend and will be booking with them next year.

Fantastic Fly Fishing
I have been fly fishing in Puerto Vallarta for the past 12 years. This was my first year fishing with Captain Pablo's group. I spent 4 days fishing with Willie and Poncho, Willie is an English speaking experienced fly fishing guide who is an excellent boat man, and very familiar with all the fishing spots around Sayulita.
If you are like me, you hate trolling. After catching sardines, as chum, Willie will take you to where the fish are. I was specifically after roosters, but they were not around. Willie took me to spots where we caught bonito, tuna, and other fish on almost every cast. On the final day, after catching over 20 fish, we decided to look for dorado or sailfish.
We lucked out and hooked 6 doardo and landed 2, all on the fly rod.
In summing up, I highly recommend that you call Patty Southworth in Sayulita, if you want to fly fish while visiting. PV.
