Great service. Beautiful view!
Just as beautiful as the pictures depict! The staff was great! The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk into town. If you don't mind taking the stairs down to the main road, you wouldn't need a golf cart. If you're going mid spring to early fall, be prepared for the humidity. We were there last week of May and humidity level was 75-90% every day. The house does not have air conditioning, so this made it uncomfortable at bedtime!

Amazing view
Casa Carlos is such a beautiful house with an amazing view from the big terrace. The house is nicely decorated and it’s location is perfect. on top of a hill just a 2 minute walk away from town which allows the house to be a little further away from the constant music in town. We had no WiFi for the first couple of days but the problem was solved quickly. Perfect location and house decorated with a taste! Would love to go back there.

Great House. Best Location. Spectacular Views.
Casa Carlos is a delightful house, authentically Mexican in design. It's in the best possible location in Sayulita, just up the hill south of the plaza. There are spectacular, unobstructed views of the ocean. It's 90 steps straight down the the beach. The bedrooms are separated from each other giving good privacy. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. The house came with six days a week maid service. The local manager was very responsible and one small problem was fixed immediately. Everything worked well in the house, except the wifi. The house has a huge outdoor deck and a tiny pool.
The owner of the house was very responsive in communication.
Please note that there is currently (5/19) construction going on next door and there is some noise from this.
We LOVED this house and can't recommend it highly enough!

Best place in Sayulita!
This house has the best views and is an easy walk to the beach or to the village. The maids are very friendly and helpful and the house is immaculately kept. Water is by each sink so there isn't any confusion which has been an issue with other places I've stayed. Nancy is on the ball if you need anything.

Perfect stay! Gorgeous home, spectacular view, luxurious beds, full amenities, great location!!
Casa Carlos is breathtaking both inside and out. The decor and furnishings are well-appointed and colorful, with a distinctly Mexican flair. Huge accordion doors and windows allow for abundant sea breezes and elegant indoor/outdoor living. And the beds are the most comfortable I've experienced in 35 years of traveling (and living) in Mexico! Ann and her staff are welcoming, friendly, helpful and professional. The home is in a great location at the top of a hill (not too arduous -- good exercise!) on a quiet cul-de-sac, with an easy walk to town and private steps down to the beach. Perhaps the best feature of Casa Carlos is the magnificent view off its expansive terrace, which faces the ocean and provides unobstructed vistas of Sayulita Beach and beyond. 5 stars! *****

Casa Carlos...more than clean, comfortable and convenient.
3 couples migrate from the harsh Midwest winter for 6 days to Sayulita and stayed at Casa Carlos. Our stay was fantastic! Close to town yet far enough away to truly relax on the very large patio to watch the sunset. One commonality between all the couples about our stay was after a day of sun and exploring was how incredibly well we slept. Many people use their accommodations just to sleep and maybe make a cup of coffee but we hung out quite a bit at this lovely home. The owner was responsive from the time we reserved, the local Management was responsive and the housekeeping staff were thorough, consistent and friendly. Our only regret is we didn’t stay longer. Perfect for couples or families. Now stop reading this review and go see it for yourself. Go reserve it.

Views from the shower, the comfy bed, the family/kitchen and of course, the huge patio with ocean breeze are super.
We have been staying at Casa Carlitos for years and intend on coming back as long as we can. Tucked away on the hillside, privacy even in the shower at night, and perfect location close to everything, we highly recommend this accommodation for two people.

Breathtaking view, close to town but far enough away for privacy
This is our second time staying at a property in Casa Cielo compound and we couldn't have been happier. Casa Carlos is beautiful with amazing beach and town views. The master shower is huge and offers a view of the surfers and pelicans while you get clean. The caretakers were friendly and attentive, doing our beds and dishes every day! The home is well appointed with anything you would need for home cooking or entertaining or just relaxing in the sun. The added bonus of the use of beach chairs and umbrellas was icing on the cake. We will be back!!

Can't stop laughing...crabs!
Hi all. This is our 6th vacation to sayulita and our 6th house to stay in. By far Casa Carlos has been the funniest, easiest and most relaxing place to stay. The view is incredible. The walk to town and the beach are blocks away. The place is stuffed with everything you need for a fantastic getaway. We came here with a family of three and a family of two. Ample room for us all.
The beds and baths were comfy and clean. The people that kept the place up were lovely!

There is a weird dirty shed with all the sandy rusty beach equipment you need to set up a camp on the beach for all the people in your party. There are good boogies boards (needed leashes) chairs, umbrellas etc. Don't be sad about how sandy everything is, be one with the sand. You can hose off in one of the many outdoor showers that are dotted throughout the property.
If you are too lazy to go to the beach, stay home and hang out in the dipping pool, not a full size pool like the pictures in the ad suggests, its tiny, but deep and 7 of us easily fit in there to cool down when it was too hot.
Amenities! There are actual complete decks of cards! All the glass wear you need and dishes for breakfast lunch and dinner. The kitchen is super well appointed, but bring lighters, bottle openers and knife sharpeners.

Theres lots of wildlife here.
We met Jerry the iguana on the first day, he hung out in the living room with us for the first 3 days we were here. He left, but we wont forget the little time we had with him.
Lots of birds to watch too.

Btw, this time of year is the rainy season which means its stunning in the morning and during the day (hot and humid) but most evenings there are END OF THE WORLD TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS AND EVERYONE MAY DROWN rainstorms. They are pretty great because they cool things down, and are super cool to watch and dance in but also bring about plaque like phenomenons like land crabs (tongs and brooms are, your friends) that will infiltrate your home and will want to hang out in your bedroom or watch you pee. Also swarms of flying ants that will find any kind of way to get in your house to flap around heads and make people squeel. They also commit suicde in your dipping pool and for some reason love your flip flops so you can no longer wear them and will need to burn them in the bbq. And when the flying ants die the other larger ants will grab them and pull them up the wall by the dozens so fast that it looks sped up but its not and its super super gross to watch. There are skunks, I had no idea. Also, crabs.
You may be visited by local dogs, thats cool. One morning we had a tiny snake that wanted to hangout, nope. This time of year there are 100,000,000,000 mosquitoes. We used a lot of high powered OFF and those smokey coils but also realized on our second to last day we should probably close the window that has no screens that was letting in many of the blood suckers and well that helped a lot. Duh. There was also a gigantic cockroach that wanted be friends but we squished him instead. We decided to name this trip the jumanji trip.

Tip of the trip: preparation H cream really helps with mosquito itch.

Ann Sparling White is one of 4 siblings who inherited the Sayulita houses, Carlos and Carlitos from their parents, Charlie and Vicenta Sparling. The senior Sparlings bought the property and built the original house in the early 1970s. The family has enjoyed seeing a small fishing village become a diverse and beautiful tourist destination, and now are thrilled to offer our homes for others to enjoy. The house was renovated in the early 2000s and the casita, Carlitos, was built at that time. Ann is a retired mental health counselor who now lives near Nashville, Tennessee so she can be close to her children and grandchildren.
