Plan a Wedding
I am a photographer because of moments. Capturing and sharing them is my joy.
My documentary approach is unobtrusive, honest and subtle. I blend in. I make my subjects feel comfortable. I watch, I wait and work hard to never miss a moment. I have an eye for the giddy tenderness that makes a wedding unique. The traditional scenes—getting ready, that kiss, the first dance—become exhilarating showcases for the bride and groom’s personalities.
I'm a storyteller and every wedding day has its own story. The components of the day are always similar but the couples aren't. The location isn't. My experience working for newspapers trained me to blend in and have patience, waiting and watching for the moments that combine to make the story. I can seemingly be everywhere at once. It's easy for me to relate with all walks of life. I take time to meet couples before the wedding and their family and their friends. Not a minute of the big day is wasted on me being introduced to the who's who in their lives. I'm there to capture the essence of their love, the joy shared with family and friends, the laughter and tears, the dancing and mayhem - all of the pieces that make a wedding day one of the most memorable days of their lives. I do my research. I know the bits they expect me to capture and photograph the seek out unexpected ones too. I'm not a traditional wedding photographer and the couples who opt to get married in Sayulita aren't traditional either ... I love what I do and I strive to show that with my pictures.
