Relaxing getaway
Casa Litibu was a great choice for our family getaway. Lots of room, lovely views, pool, close to the beach and a short drive to town. The kitchen was very well equipped which was appreciated by our group of foodies. A perfect place to relax. Thanks to Bonnie, Ricardo and Jessica.

This is really getting away from it all in paradise. Casa Litibu is a comfortable, fully equipped home with multiple master suites with ocean views from most rooms. It is remote, but once there it is so relaxing you never want to leave. The sunsets were beautiful. The garden was in full tropical glory. We enjoyed sunbathing on the decks and relaxing at the private pool. It was the ideal spot for our group to celebrate a milestone birthday. Ricardo was there to greet us on our arrival and make us feel at home. We were also able to have him prepare a couple of delicious dinners for us. The beach is just a short stroll away and we were able to walk down the beach for dinners at Litibu Grill. We highly recommend this restaurant (reservations required). It is so close to the house and the food, atmosphere and hospitality are amazing.

We definitely enjoyed everything about Casa Litibu, a home away from home. Casa Litibu is a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

fantastic view - watched the whales
wow - what a wonderful week!
Ricardo had a terrific meal upon our arrival. The beach in front of Casa Litibu is beautiful and without people. When we wanted to go to restaurants, Sayulita and Punta Mita are only 10 to 15 minutes. The accommodations are clean and attractive. We've booked for neat year!

Perfect, peaceful family time
We spent ten of the most relaxing days of my life in Casa Litibu. We were six adults, four grown sons in their 20's and mom and dad in their 50's hung out and had a wonderful time. If you want to be in the middle of a party town and have lots of options open to you then this is not for you. We wanted the house to be the centre of the holiday and it was. All day we lounged around the pool/hot tub drinking beer, reading, talking, tanning. we saw a few whale eruptions each from our terrace and never wanted to leave the place. The house is as its presented, a car though is very useful. We loved it to bits and can't wait to return.

Beautiful Beach Holiday
I spent a beautiful 5 days here with my son and nephew. It was glorious not to have to get in a car to get to the beach. We strolled down and spent hours playing in the surf and the sand. When it was time to eat we walked home and relax. If you just want to cool off you can take a dip in the pool. The house is perfect for a large family, or even for 2 families traveling together.
The owners are able to give great tips on restaurants and excursions. We look forward to visiting again!

We loved everything about Casa Litibu, especially the location!
The owner was very easy to work with, and the Casa was perfect for our family. We had children aged 5 through 11 and it worked very well. I would not recommend any younger however. The beach out front was very private. The kids loved the boogie boards that were provided and playing in the sand. We especially appreciated the way Ricardo took care of us. His wife's cooking was also very very good. It is also a perfect place for four couples. The view from the Casa is phenomenal, we can't wait to go back.

Absolutely loved staying here. Full kitchen was used daily for meal prep and drinks. Nothing was missing or overlooked. The view was perfect and the trip to the beach was quick and easy.

We just spent 8 days in Casa Litibu for a family beach vacation. First of all Bonnie, the owner is really nice to work with and so patient and really prompt in answering questions.

Casa Litibú is wonderfully situated in a lush garden with beautiful flowers and tropical plants on a green hill overlooking the beach and sea. Where should I start to tell what we loved most. To begin with, there's so much space in and around the house, we were 7, but there was always a quiet spot if someone wanted some privacy. It was so nice to change from one terrace to another during the day and get better and better views as one moved up a level. Being on the top terrace and looking over the sea and mountains made us feel in paradise. Likewise, opening the room door to the balcony after waking up and just hear the sound of the see and the birds singing, while looking at the beautiful surroundings had the same effect.

We had Ricardo and Jessica prepare dinner for us the first two days which felt so luxurious, since they also prepared the table and washed the dishes. Both are very nice and helpful. Even so, the kitchen is so well equipped that we felt invited to cook ourselves. It was really fun to go out and buy our food, even though it was almost a day trip. But buying a super fresh piece of tuna in the beautiful marina and fish market of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle is really worth it.

Besides that we spent the first 5 days or so just in and around the house, swimming in the sea, cooling off in the pool, and relaxing. The beach is so close by and we could see our children play on the beach from the terrace. It was very hot, so having the pool, sea and airconditioning in the bedrooms was absolutely a must. The last days we wanted some action and Ricardo was very helpful to get us a discount. There is a lot to do in the area, canopy, horseriding, ATV riding, fishing, surfing, other beaches to explore, etc. We had rented a car, but even if you wouldn't have, Ricardo told us that the companies that organise all these activities can pick you up. We were so happy and relaxed in casa Litibu that we didn't want to leave. If you want to feel in paradise, secluded from overrun places, this is the house for you. We would definitely love to come back.

Casa Litibu...Luxurious vacation in a small town on a private locals only beach
We spent 2 weeks over the Christmas Holiday at Casa Litibu. It was the best way to spend Christmas and New Years.
The owner, Bonnie, was very easy to work with. She was so patient with quickly answering every question that I had.
When we finally arrived we were surprised with how stunning the house was. The pictures do not do the house and surrounding area any justice. The quaint town was teaming with friendly residents.
When we arrived the house manager, Ricardo, was there to greet us. I cannot say enough about how helpful and kind he and his wife are. He was so helpful with answering our questions about the surrounding area. He helped us set up horse back riding trips and a boat trip to Marietas Island. During our boat trip with Jose, we had several sightings of whales and dolphins that jumped out of the water so closely to our boat. It was amazing and did not disappoint! It was the closest I had been to either one of those majestic animals.
I had prearranged with Bonnie to have Ricardo's wife make us several dinners while we were there. This is a must! She is an amazing cook. She made us chilli relleno on our first night there, red mole with chicken on Christmas Eve, and chicken enchiladas on New Years Eve...OMG! I would recommend them all. It was not much more expensive than having a meal out and it was in the comfort of the beautiful house on the deck at sunset with the sound of the waves on beach just steps away. It was magical.
During our stay we also had Graciela and Luis from Nirvana spa in Sayulita come to the home to give massages. This is also another must! We had them set up under the 3rd floor palapa. It was very affordable and completely worth it to make the trip feel that much more luxurious.
There is a fisherman named Raphael who sells fish and seafood right on the beach that he caught that same day. Wow! Talk about fresh and delicious. He sells it just a few steps down the beach from the house. We hardly had to leave the town to go shopping because all of the simple ingredients needed to make meals were right there in Higuera Blanca. It's easy to make things taste great when they are that fresh.

If you are travelling with a baby or small children I would suggest looking up a baby and child equipment rental service out of Sayulita. There were 2 that I know of. For my 6 month old I rented a crib, an exersaucer, a beach sun shade tent and a high chair. The one I rented from delivered and picked up the equipment. I paid them when they picked everything up. It was very affordable and well worth it to keep my baby happy.

I would suggest renting a vehicle while there. The surrounding towns are worth the visit. Our favourite was San Pancho. A vehicle is also needed to run into the town of Higuera Blanca. You can walk but it will take you at least 30 minutes to get to there.
The town of Higuera Blanca and area of Playa Llitibu are very small. If you are looking for a quiet vacation location where you are interacting closely with locals and are willing to have an authentic Mexican dinner on someone's front porch then this is the place to be. If you need to be walking distance to the amenities of a larger town (supermarkets, shopping, restaurants) then this isn't for you.
Also, the area of Litibu has a sensitive septic system so all of the houses in the area strongly recommend not flushing toilet paper. If this is a problem for you then this is not the place to stay. Although I thought it would be a problem for me, it wasn't a big deal as Ricardo does a fantastic job caring for the house and emptying the garbage everyday except for Sunday.

This Christmas get away was definitely one to remember and one that we will be doing again and again.

Loving Litibu Part II The Encore
We loved Casa Litibu so much last year, we decided to return for the Thanksgiving holiday this year. Our two young boys (ages 3 and 5) couldn't wait to return to our "Mexico house"! As with last year, the owner, Bonnie, and the property manager, Ricardo, had everything set up and made our arrival seamless and our entire stay relaxing and peaceful. The weather and water were picture-and temperature-perfect. And once again, we enjoyed the swimming, surfing, zip lining and ATV riding. We returned to our favorite Surf Bar Restaurant in town (several times) for the delicious fish and shrimp tacos and the signature Litibu cocktail! But we also tried several new places, including El Break in Sayulita, which served an awesome ahi tuna tostada. Of course, the house is so beautiful and immaculately appointed, there was plenty of staying home, relaxing in the sun, sipping cocktails, reading, and taking alternating dips in the house infinity pool or the beautiful ocean just across the dirt road from the house. Everyone had so much fun and we were all so truly thankful to be there on Thanksgiving Day that the family has now decided to make it a family tradition and we look forward to returning next year!
