Fabulous indoor/outdoor living space.
Absolutely loved staying here. Full kitchen was used daily for meal prep and drinks. Nothing was missing or overlooked. The view was perfect and the trip to the beach was quick and easy.

Paradise

We just spent 8 days in Casa Litibu for a family beach vacation. First of all Bonnie, the owner is really nice to work with and so patient and really prompt in answering questions.

Casa Litibú is wonderfully situated in a lush garden with beautiful flowers and tropical plants on a green hill overlooking the beach and sea. Where should I start to tell what we loved most. To begin with, there's so much space in and around the house, we were 7, but there was always a quiet spot if someone wanted some privacy. It was so nice to change from one terrace to another during the day and get better and better views as one moved up a level. Being on the top terrace and looking over the sea and mountains made us feel in paradise. Likewise, opening the room door to the balcony after waking up and just hear the sound of the see and the birds singing, while looking at the beautiful surroundings had the same effect.

We had Ricardo and Jessica prepare dinner for us the first two days which felt so luxurious, since they also prepared the table and washed the dishes. Both are very nice and helpful. Even so, the kitchen is so well equipped that we felt invited to cook ourselves. It was really fun to go out and buy our food, even though it was almost a day trip. But buying a super fresh piece of tuna in the beautiful marina and fish market of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle is really worth it.

Besides that we spent the first 5 days or so just in and around the house, swimming in the sea, cooling off in the pool, and relaxing. The beach is so close by and we could see our children play on the beach from the terrace. It was very hot, so having the pool, sea and airconditioning in the bedrooms was absolutely a must. The last days we wanted some action and Ricardo was very helpful to get us a discount. There is a lot to do in the area, canopy, horseriding, ATV riding, fishing, surfing, other beaches to explore, etc. We had rented a car, but even if you wouldn't have, Ricardo told us that the companies that organise all these activities can pick you up. We were so happy and relaxed in casa Litibu that we didn't want to leave. If you want to feel in paradise, secluded from overrun places, this is the house for you. We would definitely love to come back.

Casa Litibu...Luxurious vacation in a small town on a private locals only beach
We spent 2 weeks over the Christmas Holiday at Casa Litibu. It was the best way to spend Christmas and New Years.
The owner, Bonnie, was very easy to work with. She was so patient with quickly answering every question that I had.
When we finally arrived we were surprised with how stunning the house was. The pictures do not do the house and surrounding area any justice. The quaint town was teaming with friendly residents.
When we arrived the house manager, Ricardo, was there to greet us. I cannot say enough about how helpful and kind he and his wife are. He was so helpful with answering our questions about the surrounding area. He helped us set up horse back riding trips and a boat trip to Marietas Island. During our boat trip with Jose, we had several sightings of whales and dolphins that jumped out of the water so closely to our boat. It was amazing and did not disappoint! It was the closest I had been to either one of those majestic animals.
I had prearranged with Bonnie to have Ricardo's wife make us several dinners while we were there. This is a must! She is an amazing cook. She made us chilli relleno on our first night there, red mole with chicken on Christmas Eve, and chicken enchiladas on New Years Eve...OMG! I would recommend them all. It was not much more expensive than having a meal out and it was in the comfort of the beautiful house on the deck at sunset with the sound of the waves on beach just steps away. It was magical.
During our stay we also had Graciela and Luis from Nirvana spa in Sayulita come to the home to give massages. This is also another must! We had them set up under the 3rd floor palapa. It was very affordable and completely worth it to make the trip feel that much more luxurious.
There is a fisherman named Raphael who sells fish and seafood right on the beach that he caught that same day. Wow! Talk about fresh and delicious. He sells it just a few steps down the beach from the house. We hardly had to leave the town to go shopping because all of the simple ingredients needed to make meals were right there in Higuera Blanca. It's easy to make things taste great when they are that fresh.

If you are travelling with a baby or small children I would suggest looking up a baby and child equipment rental service out of Sayulita. There were 2 that I know of. For my 6 month old I rented a crib, an exersaucer, a beach sun shade tent and a high chair. The one I rented from delivered and picked up the equipment. I paid them when they picked everything up. It was very affordable and well worth it to keep my baby happy.

I would suggest renting a vehicle while there. The surrounding towns are worth the visit. Our favourite was San Pancho. A vehicle is also needed to run into the town of Higuera Blanca. You can walk but it will take you at least 30 minutes to get to there.
The town of Higuera Blanca and area of Playa Llitibu are very small. If you are looking for a quiet vacation location where you are interacting closely with locals and are willing to have an authentic Mexican dinner on someone's front porch then this is the place to be. If you need to be walking distance to the amenities of a larger town (supermarkets, shopping, restaurants) then this isn't for you.
Also, the area of Litibu has a sensitive septic system so all of the houses in the area strongly recommend not flushing toilet paper. If this is a problem for you then this is not the place to stay. Although I thought it would be a problem for me, it wasn't a big deal as Ricardo does a fantastic job caring for the house and emptying the garbage everyday except for Sunday.

This Christmas get away was definitely one to remember and one that we will be doing again and again.

Loving Litibu Part II The Encore
We loved Casa Litibu so much last year, we decided to return for the Thanksgiving holiday this year. Our two young boys (ages 3 and 5) couldn't wait to return to our "Mexico house"! As with last year, the owner, Bonnie, and the property manager, Ricardo, had everything set up and made our arrival seamless and our entire stay relaxing and peaceful. The weather and water were picture-and temperature-perfect. And once again, we enjoyed the swimming, surfing, zip lining and ATV riding. We returned to our favorite Surf Bar Restaurant in town (several times) for the delicious fish and shrimp tacos and the signature Litibu cocktail! But we also tried several new places, including El Break in Sayulita, which served an awesome ahi tuna tostada. Of course, the house is so beautiful and immaculately appointed, there was plenty of staying home, relaxing in the sun, sipping cocktails, reading, and taking alternating dips in the house infinity pool or the beautiful ocean just across the dirt road from the house. Everyone had so much fun and we were all so truly thankful to be there on Thanksgiving Day that the family has now decided to make it a family tradition and we look forward to returning next year!

Amazing Sunsets
Casa Litibú is a gorgeous property. Bonnie was extremely patient with us organizing our stay and Ricardo the grounds keeper was very helpful. The house has everything you need to be comfortable. The sunsets are spectacular and the beach is only steps away from the beautiful garden in the front of the house. I recommend this casa to anyone looking to relax or have an adventure in nearby towns. Having a car was most helpful. If you don't want to leave the Casa stock up on all the food items you will need to keep you from having to leave the comfort of Casa Litibú.

Nice, quiet, out-of-the-way Beach.
We booked the Casita the day before we left for vacation. We were trying to stay in Sayulita but couldn't get the beach front locations to respond timely. Casa Litibu filled the request promptly thru PayPal.
We are happy to say that Litibu was a welcome retreat away from the bustle of town.
The beach has swimmable waves, not like San Pancho or even Playa Burros.
Beach chairs, umbrellas, cold cooler of beverages and a good book was what we wanted for the 3 day stay.

Casa Litibu is a dream come true!
Casa Litibu is a dream, and Bonnie was an angel to work with. The manager Ricardo is available on site every day and keeps the house and gardens in impeccable running order, which is impressive, as the house is in a private remote location. I was was only musing over the idea of traveling to Mexico to work on my book, but when i saw Casa Litibu online, I fell in love, and knew it would be the perfect place for my creative getaway.

I stayed in Casa Litibu for one month, and I never tired of it for a moment. There are so many different nooks and areas to enjoy as the time of day shifts, and it's easy to develop an intimate relationship with the ocean and it's natural biorhythm. I explored the area, and it truly is the best beach around. It's practically private most of the time- which is rare and hard to achieve anywhere in the world. The house is nestled in an undeveloped area in between the Four Seasons and another high end resort, both about a miles trek in either direction, but often I would have total privacy right out front Casa Litibu.

If you are looking for a blissful sanctuary in a pristine jungle where you can get intimate with the ocean, this is the house for you. There are a few neighbors in Litibu, and they were absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful. It's easy an easy trek to the beautiful towns of Sayulita and San Pancho, so you can enjoy your privacy and still be close to town to get all that it offers. The photos do not due the house justice, and I was pleasantly surprised upon my arrival.

The house is stocked with all the ocean items that you would need - boogie boards, snorkels, fins, etc. and the house had every thing that I needed for day to day life. The wifi was suprisingly strong and functional for the remote location and never faltered all month! I felt like I got a lot for the money I paid, Ricardo kept everything running perfectly in the house, and i didn't have to lift a finger the entire time I was there. True Luxury!

Epic open view sunsets and a comforting stay so close to nature's finest!
I wrote the first review and the second one is from my friend who was staying with us!

I LOVE Casa Litibu! It's such a special place to find peace, balance, and see some of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen! The house was clean, modern, spacious, and has a gorgeous garden! The house was also stocked with a lot of kitchen ware, from plastic wine cups to a toaster! Bonnie is on it! I love how helpful, resourceful, and valuable Ricardo the property manager is too! They both made us feel at home and took care of us very generously and gracefully. I love how close the property is to the beach. I totally felt at peace in the deserted beach. Casa Litibu is a special home for those seeking quality blissful time with nature.

Brendan, an electrical engineer and farmer from the United States, and avid waterman, wrote the following:

"I was more than impressed with Bonnies property! The gardens were immaculate, kitchen well stocked with utensils and appliances, bedrooms climate controlled, and the house in general was in great shape! Ricardo, the groundskeeper, was very polite and helpful, adding to our experience with his local knowledge of the beaches and fisheries. Though the surf wasn't the best out in front of Litibu, I found both the surf fishing and freediving to be excellent, with 30-40' water visibility, and large schools of Jack Crevalle and Roosterfish frequenting the water on a daily basis.I would definitely stay at Casa Litibu next time I visit the area!."

Longing to go back to Litibu
The owner, Bonnie, and the property manager, Ricardo, made sure our trip was a perfect one before we even arrived. Bonnie pre-arranged for a crib to be on site so we did not have to lug a travel crib with us. Bonnie also arranged for a daily babysitter, Lilly, to assist us every day with cooking, cleaning, and taking care of our two boys so we could spend more time relaxing. Upon arrival, Ricardo arranged a wonderful welcome meal of authentic and delicious chile rellenos, soup, rice, beans, and tortillas. Our first reaction upon arrival was that the website pictures--while impressive--did not do this beautiful home and its gorgeous surroundings justice! From the minute we stepped inside we felt transformed by the picturesque views, the warm tropical air, and the sound of the gently crashing waves from the white, sandy beach directly across the road. Upon unpacking, we noticed the attention to detail the homeowners took in making every room unique, attractive, and comfortable. The surroundings provided the perfect, romantic setting for our 10-year wedding anniversary. But we also brought our two boys to enjoy a family vacation together. Fortunately, entertainment was only minutes and a short drive away into the quaint town of Sayulita for snorkeling, zip lining, and ATV riding. The town was also full of delicious and reasonably-priced restaurants when we wanted to eat out, although the house was fully equipped for cooking when we wanted to stay in and have Ricardo's wife prepare another delicious meal for us or do it ourselves. And every day, the boys enjoyed swimming and playing in the pool at home or in the beach across the street, where they also learned how to body surf and boogie board. On the few unfortunate occasions when work called, cell phone service and wireless internet access were seamless and reliable. We stayed for 10 glorious days and couldn't have asked for a better setting to enjoy a wonderful family vacation! Thank you Casa Litibu. We'll be back, and we'll be telling all our friends and family about you as well.
