Its 30-minute drive north of Sayulita on the beautiful Riviera Nayarit coastline. Very calm beach at the northern end of Jaltemba Bay. La Penita is a true Mexican village slightly off the beaten track.

The villa is close enough for convenience and all supplies, yet far enough away to be private and non-touristy. It is also a short walk down the beach to cafes and restaurants of La Penita.

Be sure not to miss the local markets! “Tianguis” every Thursdays in La Penita year-round, seasonally - Mondays in Guayabitos, Fridays in Sayulita, Saturdays in Lo de Marcos, Sundays in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle. Fresh produce, pastries, candied nuts and coffee as well as local artists displaying their creations - weaving, jewelry, Huichol art and more!

This the perfect location, while you explore all that Riviera Nayarit has to offer: small pueblos and colonial buildings in nearby towns, jet-skiing, mountain biking in the jungle, snorkel our famous Coral Island, ancient petroglyphs ,hot springs, volcanos, and miles and miles of beach.

You can easily explore the other towns in the area - Sayulita, San Poncho, Rincon de Guayabitos, Los Ayala, and Lo de Marcos. You will be about an hour from Playa las Tortugas and the turtle camp there. San Blas is another hour beyond.

If you are looking for a place to kick back and relax, away from the frenzied resorts, bask in the sun at either the beach or take in the authentic culture, this is definitely your vacation spot.

Don't miss out on an incredible dining experience at our oceanfront restaurant, Anju Fine Dining

Much needed getaway in paradise
Casa Mirador is such a spectacular beachfront property and was exactly what we needed for our late November 2022 getaway from San Francisco. Our non-stop flight to PVR meant we left SF at breakfast and were sipping a drink on the beach watching the sunset by 4 PM. The house was clean and well-appointed with filtered water available in the kitchen and each of the bathrooms. Group meals were easy to navigate with the open living arrangement that spilled out to a table near the veranda. Sleeping was the best part with the soft crush of waves lulling you to sleep. The house is located near several attractions including Coral Island, a fun beach town, La Penita and Guayabitos, and lots of water sport options. We spent one day snorkeling near Coral Island and spotted many dolphins and whales on our brief boat trip to and from the island. The owners were attentive and answered our questions. The dining options nearby were wonderful - from Anju's Restaurant next door. Perhaps nicest of all was that we felt extremely welcome by the local community and always felt safe. Would highly recommend this gem of a house to any family that could use some time away. Can't wait to come back!
