Casa de Mombo in Sayulita has three one bedroom casitas (casitas #1 #2, & #5) and two bright, airy, architecturally designed, two bedroom casitas (casitas #3 & #4), for a total of 7 bedrooms. The units were completed by an American builder who guided local craftsmen to create this jewel on the hill. The top level two bedroom penthouse casita (#4) offers guests beautiful partial ocean / jungle /pueblo views from its private roof top patios. All of our units offer full kitchens equipped with newer appliances. Our newest casita, #5, offers 2 twin beds, perfect for two friends, or the bed can be pushed together to make a king size bed for a couple, in a smaller unit by the pool for travelers on a budget. The property is located in the quiet south end of town, just an easy 6 minute walk to the beach and center of town. The address is #14 Calle Naranjito - "Street of Little Oranges." Enjoy the breezy, cool location that offers panoramic views northeast towards the fishing village and beyond to San Pancho/San Francisco. Check the surf break from the roof top patios or watch the sun set over the jungle to the west.
The interior is tastefully furnished Mexican style with comfortable built-in sofa, dining table and chairs, and fully-equipped kitchens. The bathrooms are designed with hand-painted sinks, hand-painted Mexican tiles and large showers. The best amenity we have for ourselves and our guests is: the most comfortable King-size beds you'll ever sleep in while in Mexico. In other properties we have rented over the years, one thing has been a constant: numerous bad nights of sleep due to cheap, hard, small beds, that were not comfortable for two people. It is a priority for us to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible.
There is a door between the adjoining patios of the lower casitas (#1 & #2) that the maid can unlock. The units can be rented all together or separate (please see below for individual listings). During our years of vacationing with in-laws in Sayulita, we have come to enjoy the properties that offered couples the opportunity to enjoy their own quiet space, while still being close enough to enjoy the togetherness of family and friends. So, this is how we designed our casa.
In addition to the King-size bed, each casita #1 & #2, has a seven foot built-in sofa that offers a very comfortable night of sleep for a third person. The second level upstairs two bedroom, 2.5 bath casita #3, with two King-size beds and built in sofa's, as well as the top level two bedroom, 2 bath casita #4 (1 king, 1 queen bed) offers sleeping for up to 5 adults in each unit. Casita #5 offers 2 beds in a one bedroom unit for travelers on a budget. Enjoy the comfortable Mexican Equipale furniture in the living/dining room, or relax on the patios. There is almost always a refreshing, cool breeze blowing through the windows and across the patios. Treat yourself to massage on your private patio or in the living room area after a hard day at the beach, or relax in our private gardens and make a great dinner at home.

We are sad to report that on November 10, 2017, Carolee Gusick, a.k.a, "Mombo" passed away. Our place was named after her. We are sure that her spirit, laughter, love of colors and all things in Sayulita will stay with us forever. She will be missed by her family and friends. But, remembered when we get together in the casa named after her and tell stories of her life and infectious personality.
