Luckily, we have Banderas Bay Medical Services in the heart of Sayulita, providing top quality care for patients, as well as new in-home nursing or medical attention if needed. Rest assured that no matter what degree of seriousness your illness or injury may entail, Banderas Bay Medical Services has the best skilled practitioners ready to take care of you and ensure your safety, health, and comfort. Karen from BBMS tells me more about the background of the company and about the new in-home services now provided to the community of Sayulita.

First, can you please give our readers a brief background about Banderas Bay Medical Services in Sayulita?

Banderas Bay Medical Services in Sayulita has been serving tourists and locals alike for many years here in Sayulita. Originally, it was only Dr. Jose Luis Chavez Quevedo and his wife, Dra. Monica Herrera Hernandez, working in a small office on Calle Miramar on the north side of town, but when the opportunity to buy the farmacia on Manuel Navarrete (more centrally located) came around, they took it and moved their office next door, and added another bi-lingual doctor to the staff. It has always been their mission to provide top-quality medical treatment to their patients in a caring, and knowledgeable manner, so that if you are injured or become sick in Sayulita, whether you are on your vacation or a local resident, you don't have to worry about getting great care at affordable prices. Believe it or not, we even do house calls for patients unable to come into the office, and we work with all insurance companies, whether Mexican or international!

Dr. Chavez opened an Extended Care Clinic a few years ago so that patients needing more than an office or home visit can be cared for here in Sayulita. It has a full-time nursing staff and specialists of every type that are on-call to diagnose and treat more serious medical problems. All of the specialists have admitting privileges to the major hospitals in the Banderas Bay area, and can move the most serious patients by ambulance to the appropriate facility, if necessary.

What is Dr. Chavez's background experience and expertise in the medical and health field?

Dr. Jose Luis has been a licensed General Practitioner since 2006, and came to Sayulita to open his practice that same year. At that time he also took a position in the ER at the hospital in San Pancho where he continues to work three nights a week to expand his experience and expertise in general medicine.

What are the specifics of the new in-home services being offered by Banderas Bay Medical Services, and how can Sayultia patients utilize them?

Like most Mexican health care providers, the staff at BBMS takes a very holistic approach to medicine, and believes that a patient's well-being is as much involved with relieving stress as it is with taking pills. For this reason, we are very excited to announce our new In-Home Skilled Nursing and Wellness Care Services for patients who need post-hospital skilled nursing care, or are in need of assistance with personal care and wellness due to long-term illness or disability. Our fully licensed nursing staff can manage medications, including IV and IM therapy, check vital signs, monitor oxygen, gather specimens for lab tests, change surgical dressings and treat wounds, service catheters, and provide any personal care and comfort needs the patient may have. We can also arrange for physical therapy, therapeutic massage, acupuncture, and, understanding that feeling well many times involves looking well, can arrange for spa and salon services to be performed in the comfort and familiarity of the patient's home or hotel in Sayulita. The service area for these new offerings is not just in Sayulita alone, but covers all of Bahia de Banderas area, from Lo de Marcos in the north, to Nuevo Vallarta in the south. To take advantage of these new services, the patient can have their treating doctor or care giver call the BBMS office at +52 322 156 5753.
