Sayulita's Gavilanes Vigilantes and approx. 60 local volunteers are supported by 3 levels of the government (Police, Military & Health Sector) at the entrances to town in order to control access to Sayulita during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have denied access to over 1500 tourists. Miguel Perez Lopez, Sayulita citizen & spokesperson for the filter, tells us why they haven't left the job to the authorities alone and assures us that they are trained by the health sector on proper protocol during this unprecedented time.
