The federal government of Mexico plans to announce the plan to open up the economy on Wednesday and the steps it will take in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic. “It’s not a return to normal, it’s a return to the new normal because there have already been changes, reality changed … and we have to begin a stage with other procedures, other methods, other attitudes, other behaviors,” López Obrador said.
Social distancing protocol has been in place since March 23. Restrictions are expected to be lifted on May 30th however, municipalities with little to no Covid-19 cases can expect restrictions to lift as early as May 17th.
