The pumpkin spice loaf is here! It’s officially Autumn in Sayulita which doesn’t exactly mean whipping out your wooly hats, but, it does mean relatively cooler weather. I jumped at the opportunity to celebrate with an Autumn-inspired loaf. Step 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees Line an 8 ½ x 4 ½ inch loaf pan with parchment paper and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside. Step 2 Add butter to a saucepan and place over medium heat. The butter will begin to crackle and then foam. Make sure you whisk constantly during this process. After a couple of minutes,…

Dia de Los Muertos is a celebration of both life and death, it is an incredibly beautiful tradition that is held all over Mexico on the 1st and 2nd of November. You might have heard of butter boards, they’ve been somewhat trending on social media lately, so I was intrigued to make one! Here’s my take on the butter board.         This sharing plate is great for get-togethers, Sayulita dinner parties, and date nights! It’s super easy to throw together and you can switch up the toppings depending on your preferences. All ingredients are found in Sayulita at your local ‘tienda’. start by sourcing some good butter, if you’re into butter you know how important it is to use good quality produce especially if it’s going to be the main character of…

I know what you’re thinking… yogurt and eggs? But let me assure you this is one of the best combinations I’ve ever had and it is now officially my favorite breakfast/brunch/midday snack. Picture this, a creamy dollop of labneh/yogurt, two perfectly poached eggs, drizzled (heavily) with chili garlic butter, topped with herby za’atar, optional goats cheese, salt, and pepper accompanied by some warm toasted bread. Voila! This dish…
