The other day I was on the Food Network site and saw a recipe for Guy Fieri\u2019s \u201cStuffed Burgers\u201d. The filling of crispy bacon and saut\u00e9ed chorizo and onions sounded so good that I just had to make them last night! The combination of saut\u00e9ed onions and chorizo sounded perfect for us in Sayulita! They were so delicious, that I had to share the recipe with you today.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All the ingredients are readily and easily available here in Sayulita to make these stuffed burgers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I am sure that you will love them as much as I do! Just be sure to be light-handed when forming the burgers. If you overwork the meat, it will cause the patty to be dense and heavy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>INGREDIENTS: <\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">*Makes about 4 burger patties<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; 4 slices uncooked bacon, chopped<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; \u00bd cup onions, chopped fairly small<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; 3 tablespoons fresh, uncooked chorizo<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; 2 pounds ground meat of your choice<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; salt and pepper to taste<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; 1\/2 pound swiss, cheddar, or manchego cheese slices, cut into thin rounds<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; 4 hamburger buns <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(or you can use lettuce for the wrap)<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>METHOD:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Cook the bacon and onions together in a saut\u00e9 pan until the fat is rendered from the bacon, but is not yet crisp.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Add the chorizo to the bacon &amp; onion mixture; cook until the chorizo is cooked through and bacon has crisped.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Drain this mixture on a paper towel lined plate to remove excess fat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Season the ground meat with salt and pepper; mix very lightly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Divide the ground meat into 8 equal parts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Shape loosely into 8 patties, approximately 4\u201d in diameter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Lay 1 piece of cheese onto each patty.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Top the patty with \u00bc of the bacon mixture and another slice of cheese.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Add another patty on top of each, and then gently but thoroughly seal the edges.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Heat a saut\u00e9 pan over medium heat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Place all 4 patties in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes; flip over and cook for another 3-4 minutes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Finish in a 250 degrees F oven for 10 minutes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">*Enjoy in a bun or in a lettuce wrap with your favorite condiments.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SO YUMMY!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stay tuned for my next recipe- Cobb salad; one of my most favorite and classic salads.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I am not available for catering until November, but if you have any questions or comments please send me an email through my <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sayulitalife.com\/live-love-eat\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">website.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I love hearing from you!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Written By: Karina Shecter<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; I love burgers- whether ground-beef, pork, chicken, turkey, or a combination of any of these, they are always delicious and satisfying.
