In an official statement to the public on April 1st, 2020,\u00a0the governor of Nayarit and mayor\u00a0of Bahia de Banderas\u00a0announced that all social gatherings and activities have been suspended until April 30th, 2020, including school closures, activities on the beach, hotels, bars, and restaurants. Additionally, restaurants may only offer take out or delivery options during this time. Non-essential travel and tourism are discouraged for now.<\/p>\n<p>The community of Sayulita has done an\u00a0excellent job in banding together during this challenging time, and many have noted how\u00a0impressed they are by Sayulita&#8217;s efforts\u00a0to work together in supporting one another\u00a0and in taking all necessary prevention protocols to best protect our town.\u00a0As you can see in the picture above, Sayulita&#8217;s normally bustling streets are quiet, empty, and peaceful.
