Get the family together and spend some time trying out a new and fun recipe!. Everyone loves a good batch French fries; this recipe, however, for “Avocado Fries” is a healthier take on the classic and beloved snack, that everyone in the family will surely love! The best part is that it’s always Avocado season in Sayulita! I had not even heard of avocado fries until a couple of weeks ago; my husband and I happened upon them on the menu at one of the beach restaurants here in Sayulita! Being a foodie and because I love avocados, I just had to try them.

Those avocado fries had to be one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten here in Sayulita! They were so good that I came home and went right to my kitchen to see if I could duplicate them. The ingredients and the method for this recipe are very easy — anyone can make them from home!

INGREDIENTS:

-2 large avocados; they should be firm but ripe enough to slice into wedges.

-½ cup all purpose flour. Repeat with all avocado slices.

Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. I like to do 4 or so wedges at a time so that they are not crowded in the pan.

Sprinkle the avocado slices with the remaining ½ teaspoon of salt and serve immediately (you can serve with a dipping sauce if desired.)

I made a chipotle-mayo dipping sauce from my homemade mayonnaise — I simply added finely blended chipotle in adobo sauce. Add a bit of the chipotle at a time until you have the amount of flavor that you prefer. These chipotles are VERY hot, so I recommend adding slowly to your taste. You can find these chipotles in most of our Sayulita tiendas. You can also serve these fries with ranch dressing.

I hope that you love these Avocado Fries as much as I do.
