Born from a friendship that spanned continents, Waters Way brings yoga, art, ritual, and mindful living to Sayulita in a way that is both transformative and deeply connected to the community. In this interview, they share their story, their vision, and what inspires them here in Sayulita.

1. Let’s Start with You…

Can you tell us a little about yourself and what brought you to Sayulita?
We’re Agnieszka and Nika — two longtime friends, creative souls, and co-founders of Waters Way. Our journey began in Poland, where we first met. Life took us in different directions, but 15 years later, the universe brought us back together in Florida, where we both now live. That reconnection felt cosmic — and soon after, Waters Way was born.

Sayulita called to us both in beautiful, yet different ways. For Nika, a visual artist, painter, and yoga teacher, it was the town’s creative pulse: vibrant colors, bohemian energy, and inspiration in every corner of the jungle and ocean. For Agnieszka, a mindfulness coach and entrepreneur in the wellness field, it was the slower rhythm of life, the healing power of nature, and sunsets that feel like therapy. We both instantly fell in love with Sayulita — its wild beauty, open-hearted community, and magnetic spirit.

What’s something most people don’t know about your story or journey?
What many people don’t know is that Waters Way was born from a friendship that spanned continents and time. We met as teens in Poland, but life pulled us apart — until a surprising twist of fate brought us back together in Florida. We truly believe we were brought back together for a reason — to create something heartfelt, healing, and soulful. That deep sense of destiny fuels everything we do.

2. About the Business

What makes your business unique in Sayulita?
Waters Way isn’t just a retreat brand — it’s a movement of mindful living, feminine flow, and inner connection. What makes us unique is how we blend yoga, art therapy, nature, ritual, and holistic wellness into every offering. We don’t follow a rigid structure — we follow flow. We listen to nature, to the people who join us, and to the energy of each moment.

How would you describe the vibe or spirit of your place/product/service?
It’s warm, soulful, feminine, and rooted in bohemian freedom. Think: sunsets over the ocean, jungle breezes, sacred self-care, and barefoot dancing under the stars. Our vibe is both intentional and playful — a space where transformation happens through ease, presence, and joy.

Is there a product, dish, or experience that’s especially close to your heart and why?
Yes — our signature “Waters Way Retreats” are incredibly close to our hearts. These experiences combine yoga, sound healing, art therapy, skincare rituals, and meaningful connection. They’re more than events — they’re soul journeys. Watching women light up, release, and reconnect during these moments reminds us why we do what we do.

3. Community Connection

What does being part of the Sayulita community mean to you?
It means everything. Sayulita feels like a magnet for creative, conscious, open-hearted people. Being part of this community feels like being part of something bigger than ourselves — a collective rhythm that honors freedom, nature, and connection. We’re not just visitors — we’re woven into the pulse of the town through every workshop, collaboration, and conversation.

Do you collaborate with any local artisans, organizations, or causes?
Absolutely. We deeply value local connections. We collaborate with local artists, chefs, guides, and healers to create authentic and immersive experiences. We source locally, hire local talent, and aim to uplift the creative energy already thriving in Sayulita.

How do you see your business supporting or giving back to Sayulita?
We believe that giving back means respecting the land and its people. We host events that promote wellness and mindfulness, open to both locals and travelers. We also make a point to highlight local vendors, artists, and services — encouraging our guests to support the community while they’re here. As we grow, we aim to fund and organize community wellness events accessible to all.

4. Personal + Fun

What’s your favourite way to spend a morning in Sayulita?
Barefoot walks through the jungle, followed by a beach meditation and a smoothie in hand. Nothing beats the morning ocean breeze, jungle sounds, and the scent of fresh fruit and saltwater. It’s a dreamy way to start the day — slow, intentional, and grounded.

What’s one song, scent, or memory that captures Sayulita for you?
The scent of copal incense mixed with ocean air instantly brings us back. The song “Las Fridas del Mundo” captures the energy of Sayulita for us — wild, creative, and full of color. It reminds us of the women who gather here with strength and softness.

Please share your community shoutout.
Yes, big shoutout to Crist_SupSurf13.
