At Sayulita Life, we believe that supporting the community that supports us is one of the most important things we can do. Each month, Sayulita Life donates $5,000 pesos<\/strong> to a local initiative through our Sayulita Life Gives Back<\/strong> program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This month\u2019s donation supported the Jaibitos Little League Sayulita Bus Fundraiser<\/strong>, a community event held last weekend to help raise funds for a future team bus that will transport young players to their games throughout the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second annual Jaibitos Golf Fundraiser<\/strong> was a great success, bringing together golfers, sponsors, and supporters from across the area. This year\u2019s event welcomed 44 golfers\u2014an increase from last year\u2014and several new sponsors<\/strong>, showing once again how strongly the community rallies behind Sayulita\u2019s youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizers shared that while final numbers are still being calculated, the fundraiser raised more than last year\u2019s event<\/strong>, thanks to the generosity of participants and supporters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The support extended beyond Sayulita as well, with golfers traveling from Rinc\u00f3n de Guayabitos and La Pe\u00f1ita<\/strong> to participate. In fact, it was a Rinc\u00f3n team that took home the tournament win<\/strong>, highlighting the regional spirit behind supporting the Jaibitos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Jaibitos Little League<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 2016<\/strong>, the Jaibitos of Sayulita is a community baseball program focused on developing young athletes ages 5 to 14<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the leadership of coach Pedro Navarro<\/strong>, the program provides local kids with the opportunity to build discipline, teamwork, and confidence<\/strong> through sports. Pedro\u2019s dedication to the team and the kids he mentors has inspired many in the community to step forward and help support the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why a Bus Matters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the biggest challenges facing the team is transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jaibitos compete in the Liga Tepic Nayarit<\/strong>, traveling throughout northern Nayarit to places like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Santa Mar\u00eda del Oro
\u2022 Amatl\u00e1n de Ca\u00f1as
\u2022 Tepic
\u2022 Tuxpan<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of these trips require over three hours of travel one way<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, families split the cost of hiring taxi vans for away games, which can be financially difficult for many parents. A dedicated team bus would allow more kids to participate while ensuring safe and reliable transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continued Needs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to generous donations from members of the community, the team currently has much of the equipment they need. However, some needs remain:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Uniforms for the upcoming 2025\u20132026 season<\/strong>
\u2022 Baseball shoes<\/strong>, which are always in demand as kids quickly outgrow them<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Community Effort<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The golf tournament was organized by a group of Canadian and American expats<\/strong> who have become friends with Coach Pedro and the team. Inspired by his dedication, they decided to help organize an event that could make a meaningful impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local businesses donated prizes for the silent auction<\/strong>, sponsored tee boxes, and helped spread the word throughout the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result was a fun and successful day of golf, fundraising, and community connection\u2014all in support of Sayulita\u2019s young athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizers hope the Jaibitos Golf Fundraiser will become an annual tradition<\/strong>, helping raise funds each year toward the long-term goal of purchasing a team bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
