Lately, I have been experimenting with making desserts with a sweetener rather than sugar. Bingo!!! I found the perfect one and now have a yummy sweet treat. It is now my most favorite dessert!<br \/>Magic bars\u2026they are sooo delicious that I keep a container with small bars that I can reach for when that sweet craving hits. I have no need for a crust so make it without. It is so very easy to make. So here it is. I sure hope that you love it as much as I do!<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At least 1 cup of raw nuts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><em>My favorite combination is roasted hazelnuts and cashews. Hazelnuts are my favorite so I use \u00be hazelnuts to \u00bc cashews.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 cup chocolate chips<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 batch of homemade condensed milk (See recipe below)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img width=\"1000\" height=\"750\" data-public-id=\"wordpress_assets\/IMG_8864\/IMG_8864.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/res.cloudinary.com\/sayulitalife\/images\/w_1000,h_750,c_scale\/w_1920\/f_auto,q_auto\/v1633475456\/wordpress_assets\/IMG_8864\/IMG_8864.jpg?_i=AA\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-post-4907 wp-image-4911\" data-format=\"jpg\" data-transformations=\"w_1920\/f_auto,q_auto\" data-version=\"1633475456\" data-seo=\"1\" srcset=\"https:\/\/res.cloudinary.com\/sayulitalife\/images\/w_1920\/f_auto,q_auto\/v1633475456\/wordpress_assets\/IMG_8864\/IMG_8864.jpg?_i=AA 1000w, https:\/\/res.cloudinary.com\/sayulitalife\/images\/w_300,h_225,c_scale\/w_1920\/f_auto,q_auto\/v1633475456\/wordpress_assets\/IMG_8864\/IMG_8864.jpg?_i=AA 300w, https:\/\/res.cloudinary.com\/sayulitalife\/images\/w_768,h_576,c_scale\/w_1920\/f_auto,q_auto\/v1633475456\/wordpress_assets\/IMG_8864\/IMG_8864.jpg?_i=AA 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>INGREDIENTS FOR HOMEMADE CONDENSED MILK:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1&amp;1\/2 cups heavy whipping cream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1\/4 cup sweetener of your choice. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><em>I like to use a monk fruit allulose brand that I order online. Besti has a very good one that has no after-taste at all.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 Tablespoons butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1\/4 to \u00bd teaspoon Zanthan gum or Glucomannan from Konjac Root<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><em> I order this Konjac root online. I do really prefer it to Zanthan gum<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>PREPARATION: <\/strong>(make the condensed milk 1st so that it can cool a bit)<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>1.Bring heavy cream to a boil and then reduce heat and simmer gently for 30 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>2. Remove from heat and whisk in sweetener and then sprinkle \u00bc teaspoon Konjac root and whisk to combine<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>3. Let cool for 10 minutes and it is ready!<br \/><em>In the meantime preheat the oven to 300 degrees<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>4. Line an 8&#215;8 metal pan with parchment paper leaving 2 sides with overhanging edges<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><em>This makes the bar is easy to remove from the pan<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>5. Sprinkle a later of the coconut over the pan surface<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>7. Add a layer of chocolate chips and then a thick layer of the nuts<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>8. Pour the homemade condensed milk over the entire top <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>9. Let cool for about 20 minutes and then carefully score into the size bar you choose<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><em>I like to make 16 pieces<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>11. Refrigerate until cold and then recut pieces<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Keep the pan stored in a closed container in the fridge and indulge whenever the mood sets in!
