Sayulita turns into one big fiesta from the 19th – 24th of February. With Banda music playing on every corner, parades for days, and the fair arriving at the baseball field, what’s not to love?<\/p>\n

Mexico’s take on the carnival includes betting stands with roulette, dart-throwing to win cookies, chips, or even ramen. And the best stand of all; the rock-throwing at empty beer bottles to win beers. Not forgetting the classic popcorn and hot dog stands.<\/p>\n

On Flag day which is the 24th of February, brace yourselves for a night filled with banda, pacifico’s and wild ride on the “Amor Express”. Flag Day (or\u00a0D\u00eda de la Bandera<\/em>) celebrates Mexico’s independence from Spain, freedom of religion, and union of all Mexican people. There will be a parade marching through town on the morning of the 24th.<\/p>\n

The celebrations on this night echo throughout town, and they don’t stop till the early hours of the morning. ( For reference, last year I saw a banda group in the baseball field going strong at approximately 8:00 AM, the next day).<\/p>\n
