Welcome to Casa Sierra a lovely home located on the north side of Sayulita. This house was one of the original Sayulita vacation houses built years ago by a Guadalajaran family. It has been completely remodeled to create the perfect vacation villa combining old Mexican charm with modern luxury.

Centrally located less than two blocks from the beach and an easy walk to the center of town, casa Sierra offers the perfect location to easily access all Sayulita has to offer.

Each of the three bedrooms is characteristically unique with tastefully decorated furnishings personally selected from designer shops in Tlaquepaque and Tonola. The upstairs bedroom, which is accessed via exterior stairs, has A/C and a king bed while the downstairs bedrooms, also with A/C units, offer queen beds each with an additional twin size day bed. In addition to the AC, large ceiling fans are placed above each of the beds if a cool breeze is necessary. Two additional days beds are located on the upper covered terrace to offer additional sleeping space.

Casa Sierra offers four spacious and comfortable outdoor lounging areas providing your group with plenty of space to enjoy the sun or the shade. Fresh breezes from the ocean keep the grounds at the perfect temperature. Each of the lower bedrooms has French doors opening up to the shaded terraces. The upper bedroom opens to a large covered terrace area looking down at the pool and the kithcen opens to a tropical outdoor dining and barbeque area.

Saltwater pool.  No chemicals!  A shallow child pool gently cascades over a small waterfall to the larger swimming pool.

Baby Equipment:  Three Pack N Plays and two hi-chairs are available for use. (Items are shared with our other house and are available by limited reservation.)

Casa Sierra is staffed with a manager, gardener, and housekeeper (Aracely) who is also a fantastic cook. She will be delighted to occaisonally prepare any traditional meal for your group.*

Simply put, Casa Sierra is a perfectly located Sayulita vacation villa combining true Mexican style with modern luxury. Our home offers anything you could possibly wish for during your trip to paradise.

Unbelievable - amazing location, beautiful charm, laid back vibe
I rarely write property reviews, but folks, this one is the real deal:

1) the owners never took more than 2 minutes to answer any calls that I had... and when you're in a foreign country on vacation, you never want to be left hanging around if important things need dealing with. These guys are pros and take their property very seriously.

2) the property itself is really well staffed -- Aracely the cleaning lady came every day to tidy up, sanitize the washrooms and change linens / towels as needed. There was also a gardener that was there every other day, and the boss of the maintenance staff came by too. None of them spoke perfect english, but they were all respectful, positively helpful, and proud of the work they did with care. Kitchen was well stocked with plenty of large and small plastic cups (to enjoy poolside) as well as glass cups, and a microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, and stove.

3) the location is great... just on the other side of the "river" and away from the noisy parts of town... but still only a 5-10 minute walk at the most from the main village square.

4) the layout is amazing; built on a hillside, the property takes full advantage of the slope in creating an old colonial villa style house spread out over many levels, giving the property a sprawling yet intimate feel. The street level is also the pool level. a few steps down from there, and it's the kitchen level and the open air table just outside the kitchen. A few steps further down inside the house leads to the 2 main bedrooms which each can sleep 3 very comfortably, 4 if younger children. A few steps down from there and you are in a covered outdoor side yard, with table / chairs and a coffee table with lounge chairs -- this cool spot is also equipped with 2 large hammocks - a great retreat from the sun while remaining outdoors. Taking a curved staircase up from the pool level to the second level there is a massive terrace that overlooks the pool on one side where open, and under a roofed area overlooks the rooftops of sayulita and the distant hills and amazing sunsets. The roofed area of the huge 2nd level terrace also features a massive corner couch that 2 people could sleep on with an enormous square coffee table ...the setting sun shines below the roofline so you don't really feel under a roof there. The second level also has the 3rd bedroom and ensuite shower / toilet. So there are 4 distinct yet interconnected areas OUTSIDE which was great as we were travelling with kids ranging in age from 7 months to 9 years... we could very comfortably all spread out to different parts of the property when people wanted to relax in different ways, and then we could all get together too in any of these zones. The property is very well designed from this perspective to accommodate 2 families with kids or 3 couples. Air conditioning and wifi worked, though wifi modem needed resetting a few times...

5) the landscaping / garden / plants are unreal. They very cleverly used trees, shrubs, landscaping, and scattered perhaps 100 large terracotta pots with all kinds of massive and interesting tropical plants to create visual screens from neighbours and for bedroom windows, really giving the property an intimate feel while being overlooked (house nearly totally blocked by grove of palm trees) by a neighbouring property up the hill.

6) Sayulita is one of the best little villages on Earth. the people are super friendly, there is no attitude, a very chill vibe, great weather and food, 24-hour access to doctors, and a beautiful pre-commercialization vibe. There are no starbucks or mcdonalds or large hotels or cruise ships or hordes of annoying tourists.

All of us were sad to leave and could have stayed another month!

A wonderful time was had by all!
Boy, are we happy we chose Casa Sierra as our destination in Sayulita. It's a great place, great location and it suited us (4 adults and a 2 year old and almost 5 year old) perfectly!

For us, with the kids, the swimming pools were THE heart of the matter. Coming in late May as we did it was pretty dang hot, almost too hot--but all of us just kept jumping in the pool to cool off, even the baby, who was happy as a little dolphin with her floaties in the kids' pool. In fact by the end of the first day my grandson taught himself to swim and spent the rest of the vacation delighting himself by jumping into the pool and swimming underwater.

The last days, just for fun, we rented a golf cart, and that added a sweet sense of mobility.

We loved Sayulita, were very satisfied with Casa Sierra, with the staff, and with the support that Kerry and her staff provided.

Thank you for a memorable visit.

A beautiful open casa
This casa is beautiful, spacious, private clean and a perfect place to relax. We stayed at Casa Sierra with several friends and small children. The covered outside patios (with hammocks) were perfect when we needed a rest from playing in the fantastic pool. The beds were quite comfortable (which is rare). As well, the owners and staff were always quick to accommodate our needs and requests. The house is well situated- close to both the beach and the centre of town but on a nice quiet street. I highly recommend Casa Sierra and will be sure to return.

Just what we needed,
We have just recently returned from a wonderful stay at Casa Sierra. The place was clean and had a great open concept that I thoroughly enjoyed. Aracelli was great and took care of the place like it was her own. The pool was always clean and a great way to cool down during the hot day. The only negative thing are those darn roosters at 4:30 am. Although it was annoying to wake up to it was soon forgotten and we were able to enjoy the rest of the day. I would book this place again, no problem!

Fabulous vacation!!
We absolutely loved Sayulita and Casa Sierra! The home is very charming and well kept. Our housekeeper, Araceli, was very sweet and my daughter even made friends with her little girl during our stay. She cooked chile rellenos for us during our stay and it was amazing. The home is the perfect location, only two blocks from the beach and about three from town. We walked everywhere along with our 7 year old daughter who never complained once of too much walking. It's located on the Northern side which is residential and quiet (except for the roosters) We actually miss them now that we're back to the cold! The spring water was included with house rental which is a huge perk!

The town is wonderful with so many great restaurants. We didn't have one bad meal. The food was amazing! Medusa which is only a few feet away had amazing strawberry caipirinhas.

It was one of my favorite vacations. We will be back! Thanks you Kerry for all of your help in planning our vacation! You were always very prompt with returning all of my emails.

Great location and awesome pool
Overall Casa Sierra was a wonderful home base for us. The pool was a heavenly hang out after mornings spent at the ocean, and there were many outdoor spaces to find a quiet spot despite the large size of our group. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable.

The location is perfect in that it is close to shops and beaches, but on the quieter north end of town. The only downside is it is next door to many roosters who like to get started around 4 am, which took a few days to get used to.

Great pool, outdoor spaces, and distance from town.
Overall we had a good stay-we loved the saltwater pool and so nice to be close, but not in, town. No car or golf cart needed! There were 6 adults and a toddler and we had plenty of room indoors and out. Enjoyed the open shower in the one downstairs bedroom bath. The housekeeper, Aracely, was very nice and helpful the days she came and grounds were well kept by the friendly gardener. Fairly well stocked kitchen and the outdoor grill was nice to have, and the hammocks were well used by all!

The few negatives were: spotty internet, VERY slippery tile floors(when they get wet) downstairs and in the covered outdoor area. The pack-n-play we were assured would be there wasn't, which as we arrived later in the evening was very inconvenient. No help from the rental agency but on day 3 the owner graciously brought hers for us to use.

Charming, unique, and oh so enchanting a space!
Event: my son's wedding at Don Pedro's Palapa
Time: Hurricane Patricia hurtling toward Puerto Vallarta
The experience: Not only did hurricane Patricia have the good taste and grace to skirt Sayulita entirely and dissipate quickly, but the one day of the three days originally booked was an amazing experience in many ways due to 1. when we finally did arrive the home was so welcoming, the pool was sparkling clean and a sweet relief for our toddler; the pack and play was set up, the stroller set at the ready. 2. the home itself was lovely, the hammock perfect swaying for a pre and post wedding nap, so very spacious a home with a place for everyone in the family to curl up with a book or an iced tea and take a break from the intensity of the wedding/new country, new culture---all of which were incredible experiences of their own. Cheerful and engaging staff---and at the end full refund for the days the hurricane prevented us from staying. Amazing experience we will never forget.

Great place!
We just got back from Sayulita last week and had an amazing trip! Casa Sierra was wonderful. Kerry and Ian were so nice and accommodating. The house was comfortable and clean, and the staff was lovely. It was pretty hot when we were there so the pool was amazing! I would absolutely recommend this house and would stay there again.

Gorgeous, comfy, and perfect for our needs!
This place is truly a gem.
It's a gorgeous house with amazing landscaped grounds, fabulous salt-water pool, beautifully and simply designed rooms with art, plants hammocks and furnishings, with tons of great places to hang out. Close to the beach, about a 10 minute walk.
The cleaner/maid/cook prepared a feast of Chile Rellenos and shrimp in a butter sauce for us for lunch which I'd highly recommend. She was absolutely darling, very kind, generous and helpful, but speaks no english. A translator app on our phones helped a lot.. also worth downloading before your trip.
we got lost upon arrival but the owners rescued us and directed us to the place... there are not many street signs and there is no numbered address on the house. make sure you print out a map and ask for clarified direction before you leave so that arrival is not a frustrating experience for you, too.
Construction next-door is on from 8am-8pm every day (we were here at the end of April, 2015) which was a constant source of noise, so make sure you bring earplugs for sleeping.
Would definitely rent again the next time we return to Saulita!
Such an awesome trip; great town, beach, food, shopping & people...!
Thanks again for a fabulous vacation home we were thrilled to call ours for a few days!
