Description

Casa Vela in Sayulita is an exquisite luxury villa located on the North end of Sayulita overlooking the ocean, jungle and village. This unique house is a fusion of traditional Mexico and open-air beach living. The warm yellow walls and Saltillo tile floors invite you to sink in and relax with the ocean breeze and sounds of the crashing waves.

Upon entering Casa Vela you are greeted by an expansive view of Sayulita’s bay and the beach that is only a short walk down the cobblestone street. The open palapa living room is the perfect place to relax with family and friends, lounge by the infinity pool with a cold cerveza, watch the game on the plasma screen TV, nap on the shaded outdoor sun bed, or shoot some pool on the championship pool table! You can check out the surf, watch the whales spout and the dolphins play from just about every room in the house as well.

The fully equipped kitchen with 15 ft. bar has everything you will need to create wonderful meals from the fresh local ingredients. Hand crafted copper sinks, Talavera tile and an antique oven add to the rustic charm of this beautiful kitchen. In the adjacent palapa dining area you will find a pounded copper table and built in gas barbeque where you can grill up and serve the “catch of the day” from the fishermen of the village. If you would like to arrive to a fully stocked pantry & fridge, send us a list and we will do the shopping before you arrive (for a small additional fee). At your request, a personal cook can be arranged to prepare Mexican delicacies for you.

From each bedroom you will awake from a restful night’s sleep to see the ocean stretching out in front of you. Comfortable mattresses and pillows, high quality linens and towels add to the luxury of this tropical retreat. We have also installed security safes for your security and peace of mind.

The property also includes a private, enclosed yard that is landscaped with tropical plants such as halaconia, ginger, pulmeria, birds of paradise and more. This is the perfect spot for a small wedding! There is a second pool, a palapa bar/bbq/kitchen, open air lounge, and a spacious lawn. In this pool you will be able to relax under a built in palapa umbrella and play a game of cards around the table while your friends or family blend up another pitcher of margarita at the nearby bar!
The entire house is adorned with hand-selected art, decorations and furnishings from throughout Mexico. Together, these elements create a fun and eclectic style that is the perfect complement to the amazing views from every room in the house. The thoughtfully laid out floor plan and incomparable ambiance is perfect for entertaining!

The separate upstairs casita with its own entrance greets you with colorful rustic floor tiles and Mexican folk art. Patio doors open up so that you can enjoy the incredible ocean view and breeze. Comfortable furniture, a fully equipped kitchen area and a shaded garden patio make this casita a perfect private hideaway.

The north end location of Casa Vela couldn’t be better, you are close enough to walk to town, yet far enough not to hear the late night music from the bars or (very) early morning crowing of the roosters!  We are certain that Casa Vela is everything you are looking for in a vacation house with the perfect mix of casual luxury.

Unbelievable Vacation spot for a large group
We are a family of 7 and this house was perfect for us. Plenty of space for each of us to come together or have privacy. The view of the town and ocean was great. The daily maid service and local help really made our stay relaxing. The hill to town and the beach is steep so golf cart recommended. Cassie and her group went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful.

Amazing property!
Casa Vela in Sayulita is an amazing property with a great layout, well appointed, lots of privacy and great flow. The property manager was extremely helpful and had margaritas and guacamole waiting for us at the time of arrival.

I suggest renting a car or local golf carts as it's a bit of a trek from town, but the golf carts make the trip all the more fun. There's six true bedrooms and each is incredibly private - great for a multiple couples. I would definitely stay here again and hope to soon!

Wow fabulous authentic Mexican villa!
Love the open air kitchen, dining and living rooms at Casa Vela. Fabulous staff. Easy walk to town and beach. The chefs " Hecho con amor" from the SayulitaLife web site were absolutely amazing! Great menus, they did all shopping for us. Delicious fresh meals made in our kitchen.

Very relaxing and enjoyable stay! Thanks to the owners for there every attention to detail! We will be back!

It's Exactly as Advertised
Absolutely stunning space. Actually several stunning spaces behind one locked door. There is a steep climb from the beach level to the suite...probably the equivalent of 5 floors of stairs...but it is more than worth it. The views and solitude are unforgettable. If you can't handle the climb...rent a golf cart. If you are worried about kids and the swimming pool, take the appropriate precautions.
The only downside we experienced was mosquitos. A few of us got bit up pretty good sitting outside. Recommend an insect repellant for the evening around the pool or in the other outdoor areas.
Full kitchen, purified water tap in kitchen, 2 functional, clean and relaxing pools, several seating areas. It's private yet communal, primitive but modern, and remote yet a 5 minute walk to town. The staff is friendly, efficient, and almost invisible.
My group of 12 will be back every year as long as we can make it happen.

Great Views/some concerns
Casa Vela offers beautiful views! The main floor is lovely for entertaining and the staff could not be more accommodating. Also a very good location. Couple of issues though: The hill is so very steep and potential renters should be aware you will be walking up and down this steep cobblestone hill. Night, no light except for your cell phone - can be issue for older adults. Secondly, Casa Vela really only has 5 bedrooms not 6. The 6th room is actually a living room with sliding doors that faces the pool. A small bed is attached to the sofa and the wall. Not a bedroom! Very small area with a sofa and table. We were quite disappointed once seeing the other rooms the other guests had. Should be advertised as 5 bedrooms with a living room that can sleep two people.

Beautiful house with stunning art & decor!
We spent 5 nights at Casa Vela and also had our wedding of 21 people there. My favorite part of the house besides the view (of course) was all of the cool artwork. You can tell they took great care and pride in picking everything out! It was so much fun looking at everything.

I was very pleasantly surprised that the sun room in the casita had been turned into a full bedroom. It was absolutely perfect for our two kids! There is a small connecting window so you could peek into their room without getting out of bed and see if they were still sleeping.

The pool upstairs was in a perfect location for us (the kids were in it most chances they could get) and it was easy for us adults to cook, drink play pool and hang out without having to leave the main area of the house to keep an eye on them. I could definitely see how it would not be good for small kids, but it was perfect for ours since they were a little older!

Lots of space for people to have the much needed privacy when vacationing with family! Beautiful views and couldn't think of a better spot to sit with a cocktail and watch the sun go down.

Cassie was extremely responsive and easy to work with. We will most definitely be back!

Love,
Trevor & Erin

think of what age groups you are bringing
beautiful spot amzing view stars at night whale sightings in the bay. the view is so soothing.
Please take note this spot is NOT for small childfren..Many stairs but more importantly the pool in the living room is a booby trap for a young one and the tiles around the pool are very slippery when wet making it impossible for little feet to walk.. Also we were agroup of 6 adults and only 2 pool chaises, others had to sit in dining room chairs near the pool. not so comfortable.

So luxurious!
This house is so gorgeous! The main level kitchen and living room are open to an infinity pool looking out at the ocean. There is a suite up stairs and multiple rooms, each on their own terrace, below. Each room was so different....you can tell that every single nook and cranny of this place was well-thought out and crafted.
This was the first time that I've been on vacation and couldn't decide if I wanted to stay in or explore the town!

Dream home with a fantastic view!
Book your next family or group vacation here. It was like a mini resort but, more home-y. You could relax and have fun with everything you need just inches away. Normally private homes or beache houses come with left over or cheap finishes, not this place!!!! Sheets, towels, kitchen supplies- all beautiful and more like a resort. Beautiful view and the house itself it's so well designed and built- you'll fall in love with every little part!

Best Place Ever!
Casa Vela is one of the most unique homes that I have ever been in. Not only are there absolutely mind blowing views from everywhere in the house, the decor is like nothing I have seen before. Every bedroom is a work of art. Not to mention the fact that there is a pool in the living room! There is nothing better than walking up the hill and being able to jump in the pool as soon as you walk into the living room. We were spoiled at Casa Vela and I would recommend it in a heartbeat!

Sayulita is adorable with unique shops and amazing food. The mix of people in the city makes for a really great experience.
