The Hydrocat 300x is made for tuna fishing, includes the tuna tower, cuddy cabin, GPS, fishfinder and all the trimmings that a great fishing excursion requires. The walk around cockpit is huge, with dual fish boxes, dual live wells, bait station, walk through transom, gunnel storage, and rod holders all around. This cat has a very nice hard top and upper tower crows nest and steering station for spotting fish and watching sunsets. Forward is a cuddy with a single berth and very large storage areas on either side of the bunk with a large overhead hatch for ventilation. The foredeck is easily accessed with grab rails on either side of the cockpit. Pop up cleats, a nice size anchor locker, and stainless handrails.

Fishing trip of a lifetime
Exceptional experience all three times we have used Y-Knot in the past 12 months! We caught an 850 lb Black Marlin last week, A hammerhead and Jacks on our family vacation in August, and 10 Dorado in January!! The crew is exceptional and very courteous. They provide sandwiches, snacks and cold drinks as well. They know how to find the fish, and how to help you bring in the fish, from our 10yr old to my 65yr old father.
This is the charter to use if you want to catch the big ones!!

Smooth Operators, love these guys!
These guys never fail on their quest to catch fish. I have fished with other charters but these guys go that extra mile to give you a memorable day. From serving up the best ceviche to finding those special fishing spots . Friendly knowledgeable english speaking staff who ''GET ER DONE ''. I have fished with these guys for years and will continue for many more.

Super awesome boat
When fishing for tuna offshore for 12 hours. Even though we were not successful (its called fishing, not catching) the crew was great. They gave it their all and tried everything possible. We got into jumpers, but they just would not bite. NIce comfortable boat with great staff. Can't wait to go again.

Great trip, easy to coordinate, would definitely go again!
We caught seven 3-4 ft Mahi mahi (Dorado) in the first hour and half. After that, the bite slowed considerably. They cleaned the fish for us on the back of the boat once we got back. Tip: If you are planning on only being here a few days and you want to cook the fish yourself, book the fishing trip first so you have time to enjoy the fish.

If you don’t plan on cooking it yourself, either insist on catch and release or catch one or 2 and take your catch to Rosios (as Elme recommended). We had them cook it 2 ways. The Ceviche and garlic butter was amazing.
We had a bit of trouble getting them to understand what we wanted at Rosios. Would recommend having one of the boat crew go with you if your Spanish isn't very good. We had an amazing time and would do it again.

AWESOME Fishing Trip!
My son, my cousin and myself went out on a half day inshore trip on the 28' super panga. The boat was clean and was supplied with snacks, drinks and ice. We fished with Capt. Saul & his mate & nephew Elvis. Saul spoke good english and with Elvis' limited english and our limited Spanish communication was not a problem. They were there waiting for us even though we were 15 minutes early.

They were very knowledgeable about the waters and where to find the fish. After picking up the live bait and a 10 minute boat ride around the point they immediately put un on the fish with a triple hookup of Dorado (mani-mahi) 2 of which we landed. We continued to get bites and hook-ups landing more fish. As it started to slow down Elvis noticed birds maybe a mile from where we were so we headed over there and again immediately started hooking up and landing more fish. Soon the other boats in the area all converged on our location. We landed 11-12 dorado and 2 skipjack tunas. We had double that in bites and hook-ups.

We released the fish we could and kept the ones too damaged to release. As far as we know no other boat caught more than 4 fish. We took 1 Dorado into town and Capt. Saul had his friend at the restaurant cook it up for us as Saul and Elvis joined us for lunch. it was a delicious meal and we told fish stories. We created a memory that we will never forget. Thank you!!!

The best!
I was in Sayulita for a week and went over to Punta Mita for a full day (10 hour) fishing trip with my wife and 8-year old son. Elme (the owner) came along to ensure we had a good time and caught fish. He brought a captain and deckhand who were both extremely professional, knowledgable and considerate in helping my 8-year old have the time of his life. These guys love to fish and worked the entire time to put us on the bite... which they did! We had considerably more success than the other boats we talked to. The guys even stayed out a bit longer to get my son "one last fish." We splurged for the Boston Whaler and are really glad we did. The boat was comfortable, fast, safe and really allowed us to maximize fishing time. Plus it had a bathroom and a lot of room for my wife to lounge comfortably.

Elme and his team at Y-Knot are first class all the way. My only disappointment is that we didn't have time to go for a second trip! But we will be back and we look forward to more catching with Y-Knot!

Sixty pound rooster fish!!!
I communicated with Elme via email for the booking process and it was easy as pie. He was clear in his communication with me.

On the morning of fishing, his crew (Captain Victor and I forgot the mates' names) was on time and we left the harbor at 7am sharp! Elme did not come out with us.

The first 6 hours we didn't get a single bite, but in the last two hours, we caught a huge Rooster Fish and a decent sized Jack. The last two hours made the trip!!! Overall, very friendly and professional. Would fish with Y-Knot again!

There was some small confusion in the final billing, but Elme sorted it out. Was very happy and look forward to doing this again someday.

Best fishing in the area
We've fished dozens of times in PVR, Cabo, Ixtapa, Mazatlan, and Costa Rica. The best fishing trips ever have been with the guys at Y-Knot. These Guys are the best, Elme and Saul are awesome and they will get you fish. We will book with them every time every time we go to Sayulita. The cab ride to Punta Mita is worth every minute and every penny. Can't say enough about these guys, give them a try, you will not be disappointed!

Now THAT was a fishing trip!
We had a group of 5 guys. The boat we had was the Kokomo, a 32 FT Boston Whaler. We had captain Arturo and first mate Victor. Now those two were quite the team. Our group wanted to catch Tuna. They took us out about 20 miles off shore and like I said those two were a team. They were watching for the birds and spinning dolphins. And put us right on the Tunas. I can't say enough of the captain and first mate except excellent! The 5 of us were like kids in a candy store! It was nonstop fun. Besides the show of hundreds and hundreds of dolphins following us we kept 15 Tunas. And lost about 6 due to breaking the lines. A big recommendation to Y- Knot Charters and Captain Arturo and first mate Victor.

Successful fishing trip
We've fished in Mexico several times and never been disappointed. Anyone who's ever been fishing knows it's hit and miss never a guarantee but we did go during a peak time on the fishing calendar. Only booked half day charter as that worked for our schedule. Caught a decent sailfish and a two mahi mahi double header! While we just missed hooking a third! And all of this before we decided to cut the trip an hour and a half short as I wasn't feeling 100%. Captain Saul got a bit intense whenever a fish was on but that added to the entertainment. The first mate young surfing champion Alonso was nothing but smiles and cheerful all day. We had a super Panga that was great although a bit tight with a double header on the line. tough problem to have, eh? The bathroom was quite small but adequate considering it's a fishing boat not the Ritz Carlton. All in all very successful. Would definitely go again.
