Would not come back here. Don't waste your money!
Just came back from dinner and was very disappointed. The waiter recommended the shrimp platter and my boyfriend had the stuffed mahi mahi . His meal was decent , but my coconut shrimp was the worst I have tasted. I could only eat one shrimp....it was way over cooked, like they fried it twice. The coating was hard as a rock! The bacon shrimp was also overlooked. I don't know if it was a bad night for them ,but it seems like they do not pay attention to how the food comes out. So very disappointed , since we found this restaurant on Tripadvisor. All the owner could says was " I'm sorry ". Prices were not great either. We spent more here for bad food, then at the nicer restaurant like Don Pedro's!

Wonderful service and good food to boot!
My friends and I spent most of our days sitting beachfront in the sling back chairs at Capitan Cook's restaurant. Great service (Ernesto was wonderful) and good food. Tried a few other places on the beach, but none compared with Capitan Cook's. Can't wait to get back next year and spend more time there people-watching, drinking wonderful margaritas and cold, cold beers, and guacamole with chips - the best!

Not Good
We should have known better than to pick a beach side restaurant. The food was expensive for what it was, which was really not very good. The margaritas were small, weak, and not tasty (using syrup instead of fresh ingredients). I don't know what was wrong with the mango margarita, but it would not repeat that order. The quesadillas were bland and the chicken full of gristle. Salsa was mass produced (I'm guessing) and unremarkable. Entire meal was punctuated by sales calls from beach vendors (not unexpected in this locale). My recommendation: pick almost any other place. This was the one bad meal we have had in our four days in Sayulita thus far.

Our favorite beach spot
Best server of all - Roger. Never a dull moment when he's there. The food is great, chairs are free with the purchase of drinks/food. Not like the ones down the way that charge. Why?
