 At Capitan Cook's Seafood Restaurant in Sayulita Riviera Nayarit, Mexico we are eager to please you and make your dinner or lunch an unforgetable experience.

In 2011 Tripadvisor rated us most of the year as the best Restaurant of Sayulita, much of that credit goes to our chef Prospero who after working for over 15 years in some of the finest Restaurants in L.A. decided to go back to his roots and deligth us with his culinary arts.

Being located at the edge of the pacific ocean straigth in front of the surf point, it makes it easy to watch the performance of the local or visiting surfers riding on huge waves while enjoying our delicious food and buckets of ice cold beer.

Our menu reflects the best of traditional and contemporary Seafood, without forgetting the local specialitys like fresh Fish Ceviche, Quesadillas or Seafood Cocktails, all incorporating the unique flavors of Mexico.

We are the only place in Sayulita offering fresh Red Snapper "SARANDEADO" (grilled on wood fire grill) sizes from 1 kg till 8 kg, for large fish please reserve 1 day in advance.

Great place to sit and watch the main break

This was a great place to eat lunch and have cocktails while watching the main surf break. Really fun! Service was great.

Perfect Place for a Special Event

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner at Captain Cook in October and it was just perfect! The setting is beyond belief! It is on the beach, and has a gorgeous indoor space as well. The views cannot be beat. The food was brilliant! The staff was beyond accommodating and Oswaldo was the BEST! He organized the perfect evening, of excellent food, live music, amazing cocktails, speeches and more - we couldn't have been happier!

Delicious Food and Great Service! My favorite on the beach restuarant!!

Oswald the new manager is great! He welcomes every guest and makes you feel at home. The great beach chairs and umbrella's are included with food or drink. Most of the beach front places have a $10.00 us charge. The ahi tuna and seafood platter are my favorites! Clean bathrooms and shower outside to rinse off. Love the assortment of music, Latin to reggae! Fernando my favorite bartender is the best. The chef will come to your table and make sure you food is just right.

Wonderful setting straigth on the beach

Try the burgers, perfectly grilled meat. Best hawaii burger in México ... Go spread the word!

el ceviche mas fresco

Me comentaron de que el ceviche estilo peruano era buenissimo en el Restaurant Capitan Cook y no mintieron, es uno de los mas frescos que jamas he probado. El servicio de parte de los empleados, era amable y rapido, desde luego es el sitio perfecto para pasar un dia en la playa. Nada que añadir volverè pronto otra vez

Giant Seafood Platter for 4

We went there 1 week ago on sunday and had the Giant Seafood Platter. Only thing i can say is I can recommend that dish, they claim it was for 4 but I think it could easily feed 5 or even 6 person. The Lobster was fresh and tasty, the Mahi Mahi fillet grilled to perfection, the shrimps big and juicy, the octopuss was amongst the most tender i ever tasted, it all comes on a bed of spagethi and is just outstanding. Well done, now i am lookign forward to try their Tuna Steak Salad, till next time Capitan!

Best Red Snapper ever!

If you go to Restaurant Capitan Cook you MUST TRY the Red Snapper grilled over wood fire. I'ts just delicious, they call it Sarandeado. For our group of 4 we ordered a fish of 2.5 kg, they sell it by weigth which was about enough for us 4 it comes with a side of rice and salad. The Red Snapper was juicy, fresh and cooked to perfection. WELL DONE!
