Casa Luna vacation rental in Sayulita Mexico

House Features
Great ocean view
Private and tranquil
Short walk to town and beach
Perfect for family or 2 couples
Gringo Hill location

Casa Luna is a vacation home in Sayulita, Mexico.

Casa Luna is a great three bedroom, three bathroom vacation rental house located on a quiet cobblestone street on Gringo Hill in the village of Sayulita Nayarit, Mexico. The home offers a swimming pool, nice terraces, jungle views, and an impressive view of the ocean. The landscaping incorporates native fruit trees including lemon, lime, and guava. Enjoy the ambience of ocean breezes combined with the tranquil community in which this house resides.  Like most of the nice houses in Saulita, it is located on a hill overlooking the ocean. It is a short five minute stroll from the house to town and the beach.

There is a large kitchen that is fully furnished with everything you need to cook great meals for your group.  Fresh fish and great produce can be purchased from the small stores located around the village.  The refrigerator is big enough to accommodate all of your purchases.  The dining room table seats four and there is a very ample seating area connected to the kitchen to allow everyone in  your party to converse while preparing fantastic meals. There is a built in seating/dining area on the main level terace, and a built in daybed for taking a nap or relaxing with a book.

All of the bathrooms in Casa Luna are artfully designed to incorporate the “beachy” architectural feel incorporated into the design of many of the houses here in Sayulita.  The bathrooms are private but you can still enjoy the views and fresh ocean breezes while showering.

There is a king sized bed in the master bedroom,  a full sized bed in the second bedroom, and a full and twin bed in the third bedroom.   The master bedroom is on the highest level and has an amazing ocean view. The other two bedrooms are connected with a "Jack and Jill" style  bathroom.  Both of these bedrooms are at ground level and open to the pool and gardens.  The front bedroom is smaller has an "ocean sliver" view.  The back bedroom is more of an "overflow sleeping area" that, while large and clean, does not offer the views of the other bedrooms.  (It is great for kids!).  All beds have nice linens.   No more than 6 people, please.

Ramon Avilla is the caretaker for Casa Luna.  Ramon has lived in both Mexico and the USA and is fluent in English and Spanish. Upon arriving in Sayulita, he will meet you at his family's business in town and take you to the house.  He will be available by phone throughout your stay to assist you with your needs.

All are welcome, however toddlers and young children are discouraged for safety reasons as the pool area is not fenced, and the house and decks are not childproof.

Casa Luna is a newer home, with construction having been completed in May 2008.  A major renovation was completed in October 2012, which resulted in a near doubling of the functional outdoor living space, including a brand new natural stone tiled terrace with a hammock and pergola on the upper level,  and additional seating and dining areas on both levels. The home was also "spruced up" from top to bottom, with new paint inside and out, and the planting of numerous palm trees and flowering plants. As a rental, it is one of the best values in Sayulita!  All-in-all, Casa Luna is a fun, attractive, and affordable Sayulita vacation rental designed for you to really enjoy your Mexican  vacation.

Here is what some previous renters have had to say (reviews were postd on Sayulita Community Forum)

Hi! My wife and two kids stayed here the week before Christmas 2011 (just a few weeks ago) and it was excellent! The architecture is really good, the pool is a nice bonus (although we hardly used it as we were down at the beach most every day) and the outdoor sitting areas are great - also nice bathrooms, very functional kitchen, and restful location a very short walk from the village. You can't go wrong with Casa Luna on Gringo Hill!                                                                                Bob from BC

Try Casa Luna on Gringo Hill.  3 bdr, + 1 extra bed, 2 ba, 1 Jack & Jill ba, pool, ocean view, gated, great property manager lives in town and makes himself available by phone, and the best part..... the price!  Look for it on SayulitaLife.com

Casa Luna is a charming place to stay. Incredible value, quiet, clean, spacious, nice garden and little dunk pool to cool off in, lots of outdoor space and some sweet ocean views especially from the top floor bedroom. The best part is the really short walk to town plaza and the beach (5-7 minutes). We (five total) stayed a week and had a great time.          Pam B.

Thanks Susan... we had a fantastic trip and really loved staying at Casa Luna!

Great Plance
We went as a group of 5 friends and the place was perfect. It was private, mostly quiet (except roosters), and only a 5 minute walk to town. The place was clean and the care taker was available for help whenever we needed it.

Fantastic place!
A small group of teachers rented the place for Easter break. We loved having the house on the hill away from the busy - ness of this quaint little beach town. Sayulita has quite a night life but we could be a part of it or be apart from it! The house was comfortable, spacious and clean. We enjoyed the pool and the views.

We Wouldn't Hesitate to Stay There Again... and Again... and Again...
We'd stayed nearby in the past so we'd seen Casa Luna before the gorgeous and really smart renovations, and we can't tell you how much owner Susan has turned a great house into a really, really great house with the recent reno work. So here's what we found during our recent stay at Casa Luna: The views from the top (3rd floor) deck are killer - as are its great light and nice periodic breezes. And the expanded family-level / kitchen deck is ideal for hanging around with a book and a cold drink. The kids loved the pool - and everybody appreciated three bathrooms and different hang-outs / hide-outs that catered to family-members' varying levels of wanting social time vs quiet time. The house is just around the corner from the top of the stairs that lead down to the town's zocalo, with its great selection of restaurants and one of the best swimming and surfing beaches on the west coast. Oh, and the Casa Luna price is right. Thanks to property manager Eric!!! We'll be back!

Wonderful view, secluded and quiet yet close to town, beautiful renovation
Three of us came in late October and stayed at Casa Luna and had a really wonderful time. The house has many different places to hang out, drink coffee or margaritas, and take in the amazing ocean views. It's very easy to walk to the plaza, the beach, restaurants and yet once you're back at the house you don't hear the noise of town. One of us practiced yoga in the mornings and found three different decks to practice on. This was followed up by an organic smoothie from the kitchen and then days walking or on the beach, meeting new people in town. Lots of laughter, good times. I would highly recommend Casa Luna when you come to Sayulita.

April 2012

I stayed at Casa Luna on my first visit to Sayulita and it was a fantastic place to stay! My brother and I went to Sayulita just to try surfing for the first time. The town has a great local feel, while also feeling safe.

Casa Luna was perfect for my brother and I. We would surf all day, eat dinner in town and then walk up gringo hill back to Casa Luna. The house was nice and quiet, compared to the local hostels and hotels in the center of town and there was a great breeze - not too mention the amazing view from the master bedroom! We had a perfect view of the midnight fireworks on the beach that went off Friday night, from the house.

I would recommend Casa Luna to anyone visiting Sayulita! The house manager, Eric, was very helpful with recommending restaurants and local places to visit. He handed us the keys on our arrival and helped us get our bearings quickly. Casa Luna should be on your list of houses to stay, if you're planning on visiting Sayulita.
