Casa Ballena is a small, aesthetically-designed vacation home, built for me by Sayulita's favorite architect, Estela Gayosso. The parota-wood doors open the livingroom onto the cantera-tiled terrace with the palapa providing shade and breezes, as well as entertaining space. It is only a 6-minute walk to downtown/beach.
Named for its whale fountain, Casa Ballena boasts a lovely "botanic" garden with a "cantera rustico" walkway, an outdoor shower, a fully-equipped kitchen with a pass-through window for entertaining, and a little back yard with clothesline for those beach clothes.
The casita is located across the road from Manuel's Ranchito, and just to the left of a "glorieta" (turnaround) with a huge native "garobo" tree. The neighborhood plans to beautify the glorieta in the near future, owing to the demise of its huge blue palm.
!! NOTE !! CASA BALLENA will have a new casita-ita by December, 2016, The up-scale, attached, but separately-entranced "bungalo" will sleep another couple. The modern design is exciting and convenient. It is completed with a mini-kitchen, a great bathroom, terrace with view, and space for enjoyment of the neighborhood. Please ask for details.
CASA BALLENA and the new casita-ita have a 4-night minimum stay.
$140/night, 4 night minimum; or $950/week. Holiday rates are from Dec. 11, 2016 to Jan. 8, 2017 at $1050/week.
