The Surf Experience with Chito in Sayulita

If I could give him 500 stars I would - he was incredible. Without question the best choice to teach our kids. He was smart, kind, funny and an expert in the water and on shore. His encouragement made them so at ease they were able to get up and ride so many waves it was amazing. He is an incredible human!!

Took our kids surfing and they had a blast with Chito. Very knowledgeable and got them up and surfing right away.

me and my friend wanted to try surfing for the first time. We had a blast, got driven everywhere and had great food. He knew exactly where to take us so the waves would be small but still fun. Great teacher keeps it light and fun !

Chito is not only a fantastic surf instructor, but also a fantastic human. During my time with Chito, not only did I catch amazing waves, but I also observed how engrained and loved Chito is by the Punta de Mita community. He knew everyone and everyone loved him! He was also so kind to every single person I saw him interact with.

He thought about our safety first and foremost, being so prepared that he was even able to provide first aid when I cut my hand on a rock (all my own fault, very minor cut). He provided full transportation and gear, and even did special things like bring us beer and Gatorade for after our sessions. We didn’t have to worry about a thing!

I booked this trip specifically to surf first and foremost and I was not disappointed by Chito’s decades of deep local knowledge of the different surf spots, surfing technique, and hilarious and fun attitude in and out of the water. If you are looking for a guaranteed FANTASTIC surf experience with a thoughtful, experienced, fun, and local surf instructor, Chito is the way to go!

I hired Chito to run a surf retreat in Nayarit and he truly went the extra mile for us, taking us to the best waves for our levels, really hands on and professional instruction.

8 people in our family (ages 15 to 54) LEARNED TO SURF - up and riding the waves, all the way in - with only 2 days of lessons (with most getting up day one)! We went back for day 3 because Chito is super fun to learn from, and despite the swells being higher, his expertise and the trust we had in his skills meant FUN and SAFETY while being a bit more challenged. Chito's equipment is top notch tech in excellent condition, and his Team of instructors are absolute professionals as well. We'd keep Chito's Surf Experience a secret if we could, but he deserves all the success!

Chito taught me to surf for the first time. He has very calm and helpful energy that made me feel comfortable in the waves. At the end of our lesson, I felt much more confident and was able to catch waves myself. He was kind enough to bring us to lunch after our lesson as well!
