Can you explain to readers what the “Wellness Fest” event is?

The Wellness Fest is a two day health and wellness event here in Sayulita, which will be held at Nirvanna Spa on Friday, May 3rd, 2019, through Saturday, May 4th, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This event is for anyone looking for multidisciplinary treatments of different health related aspects addressed to personal care. Myself (Dr. Barbara Nester) & Nirvanna Spa both aim to provide the best services with the best prices for our entire community of Sayulita, as well as, of course, for our friends who visit each year, or even first-timers. We will also be providing courses, free yoga aid, and various specials on treatments for aesthetic medicine, nutrition, and spa services. For this festival, we are promoting to the community our new menu of facials for all skin types and skin concerns, with our new professional line called “Repechage”. Also, of course the rest of our normal services for wellness will be included, such as our signature massages, body scrubs, body masks, manicures, pedicures, cupping massages, and heat therapy with the "Soqui bed".

What is your personal experience in the health and wellness field, and what is Nirvanna Spa’s expertise?

My personal expertise is in specialized medical anti-aging medicine and non-invasive treatments. I graduated from UAG (Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara) with training in aesthetic medicine and antiaging, as well as continuous learning about the best treatments without the use of surgery. The Nirvanna Spa therapists and cosmetologists have specialized services in skin care and massage. Nirvanna Spa is made up of a group of doctors, nutritionists, masseurs, beauticians, and physical therapists led by myself, Dr. Barbara Nester in the medical area, and Graciela Navarro, founder of Nirvanna. Nirvanna Spa has served the community of Sayulita and visitors for longer than 17 years (since 2002). The team which makes up the staff of Nirvanna Spa  received their education separately (Training Institute for Labor of the State of Jalisco, Technological University of Bahia de Banderas, and Academy of Cosmetology SPA Vallarta). Jointly, we have received training and have updated our services periodically by various specialists; most recently we received trainings on massage related to specific topics, such as energy management and energy channels, and traditional Chinese massage by the "Cultural Center Kwoo Shen Tao". Furthermore, we’ve been trained in the area of skin care and protocols for different types of facial care and body care. Our nutritionist, Tamayo Mariana (LIC) is a master in clinical studies of Yoga. In total, we are a business with years of experience, and we offer services aimed toward the personal care and health of each of our clients. We strive to form a network of specialists in both physical and mental health, through food, exercise, aesthetic therapies or treatments, and relaxation therapies.

What services do you offer outside of the Wellness Fest event that guests could also book you for?

I offer treatments focused on facial symmetry and anti-aging systems without the use of surgery, such as Botox, Fillers, Facials, Dermapens, Vampire facials, as well as treatments for baldness, lip augmentations, chin, cheek, and harmonization facials. Nirvanna spa offers a regular menu with a full range of quality spa services.
