Description

Casa Buque in Sayulita, which means Ship House, owes its name to the fact that it's built on a rock right above the ocean. This magical place sorrounded by beauty is only feet away from a sandy beach and therefore boasts an incredible view of the ocean. You can fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves. Casa Buque is still our family vacation home and we use it between rentals, so you can be sure to enjoy the same level of cleanliness, comfort and service that we, the owners, enjoy.

Casa Buque is a charming beachfront home located in south Sayulita, featuring spectacular views both of the ocean and the jungle. The house is a nice walking distance (10 minutes) from Sayulita town just past "Playa los Muertos"  However, a rental car or golf cart is recommended if you are not a walker, we have parking . The house is right on the beach, surrounded by jungle and secluded from the busy town of Sayulita.

Guests to Casa Buque will enjoy access to the almost private beach which is shared by only three houses located nearby. Beach chairs are available to guests as are a couple of kayaks. This is a PERFECT beach for swimming, wading, and snorkeling.

The house is a  2 Bedroom, 2 Bath, both bedrooms have balconies. The main terrace has plenty of room for dining and sunbathing. A beautiful infinity pool is exclusive for this unit. A/C in each of the bedrooms. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, toaster oven, stove top, coffee pot and coffee too.

The beach is just feet from the house. The secluded cove is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and relaxing.

The house-keepers can also cook meals for the guests as long as she receives advance notice. Extra charges for the food will apply and a tip is greatly appreciated.

Please use the contact form to get in touch with any questions and to request a reservation. We look forward to welcoming you to our home.

How soon can we come back?????
Honestly, this was even better than we hoped. The house is lovely and clean, perfect indoor outdoor living. Felt very private, safe and protected, yet still very close to everything. You can even see Playa Los Muertos and Sayulita beach from the deck (or paddle there). You could easily walk into town, but I highly recommend renting a golf cart (it just makes it all the more fun.) The 2 ocean kayaks are a great addition, even my 8 year old would paddle out easily and tool around the cove by herself. and OH the snorkeling! So good - we saw tons and tons of puffers, angel fish, rays, skates and more! We were very concerned about eating in town with the sickness issue, so we ended up having the lovely housekeeper Meche cook for us...five times! It was wonderful, plus the savings and leftovers, a no brainer! Better than Hawaii, for sure. Can't wait to come back to this exact house. I cant imagine a better place to stay in Sayulita.

Wonderful house with a stunning ocean view
Casa Buque was an amazing place to stay while in Sayulita. The home was comfortable and spacious but what made it extra special was its dramatic location overlooking a rocky shore line with amazing views of the Pacific. We went to sleep every night listening to the waves crashing on the rocks below the house. There was a very small semiprivate beach near the house as well as a larger public beach less than five minutes walk away. Walking to the town square took about 15 minutes.

Adding to the comfort, the caretaker who lives in a neighboring house on the property will cook dinner for you at a very reasonable cost. We had other family in the area while there and arranged for dinner on the terrace for us all on our last evening and it was wonderful. The caretaker prepared margaritas, guacamole and ceviche with chips followed by a choice of entrees with tortillas (we chose shrimp). It was delicious and a relaxing end to our visit.

Perfect location
We come to sayulita a few times a year and this is by far our favorite place yet based on access to a beautiful, clean, mostly private beach and far enough from town to escape the noise and crowds. It was an easy 10 min walk to the square which we didn’t mind. We enjoyed one meal prepared for us by the staff and it was delicious! We will definitely be back.

Lucky to Find this Wonderul Casa
Our driver (Sayulita VIP Transport, good choice) had a difficult time finding the casa but once we got there it took our breath away! We had requested a meal upon arrival and it was great.

The casa was a great location for our group as it’s a nice walk to town, though there are a couple different routes. We walked through the cemetery (a neat adventure and experience of local culture) past Playa los Muertos which takes you to the south end of the main beach and into town. We rented a golf cart for a couple days from Rolys (great experience) and used the convenient power outlet just down the steps from the Casa for charging. Once at the main beach you can take advantage of many services and activities. We got massages, surf school, drinks and food service, hair braiding, and purchases from beach vendors.

We loved the town of Sayulita very much. The availability of fresh produce, eggs, fish and tortillarias made cooking at home fun. The restaurants and street vendors were a treat. The street vendors mostly start serving in the late afternoon. Don’t miss the fresh churro cart on the east end of the bridge, from late afternoon until they run out. The night life is lovely and fun with live entertainment in the streets.
There are plenty of shops and markets for shopping and they vary in price. I was quoted 4 different prices for the same item at 4 different places and negotiated to a good deal.
Watch for chickens, cats, dogs, birds, and even an iguana tree in town.

The Casa was very clean and had plenty of towels and bedding. The kitchen was stocked with dishes, toaster oven, stove top, and coffee pot and coffee too. There’s no microwave or dishwasher but these are no that common there and we were fine without.
We felt safe and secure here. We were only bothered by the insects that bit us (take bug repellent!). And we did have a lot of tummy aches (many remedies but probiotics seemed best. Available in town as well as electrolyte drinks).

The weather, the view, the private beach were all amazing. We whale watched for hours, used the kayaks, watched as fisherman swam below. The sounds of the waves crashing below was amazing, some days waves were rougher than others but there were warnings for that.
The pool was refreshing, somewhat chilly at times as it’s not heated as we thought it would be.

Due to the proximity to the ocean don’t be surprised that dampness of belongings is to be expected but no problem, just nice to know.

Lastly, the family that cares for the property are wonderful despite the language barrier. We fell in love with Meche who always had a smile and was always there when we needed her. She even joined us for brunch and liked my cooking.

We can’t wait to go back!!! Thank you Casa Buque’s family and friends!

Beautiful home, peaceful, super location
My family and I travel a lot. Casa Buque was one of the most comfortable and charming homes we have ever stayed in. Meche and Eric were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. With virtually a private beach and a perfect wading pool we had lots of swimming and choice to stay cool. The ocean view from the back of the house was stunning. It’s a home where you see the ocean from every room and the outside space is easily accessible.
We rarely stay at a place twice but we would certainly consider staying at Casa Buque again. Thank you Leticia!

Thank you Casa Busque for a fantastic wedding weekend!
We got home last night and so enjoyed our stay at Casa Busque. The house is secluded in the jungle away from the tourists and the busy town of Sayulita, yet with golf carts, we could zip in and out of town in minutes. We had our own private beach for snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming at any time of the day.
The house was so nice, clean, well stocked, and what a view to wake up to every morning,
I would highly recommend this house to all for a quiet getaway with easy access to town.
Casa Busque made our trip so special! Thank you.

Dream come true
We were a party of 5 women for my 60th birthday celebration. There are 2 very comfy king beds and a platform couch in both rooms so there was plenty of space. The photos of Casa Buque depict it perfectly. It is exactly as you see it. A bit of heaven. It's about a 15 minute walk to town and it was wonderful to have town close by but be away. Never for a minute did I feel unsafe. The caregivers of the property, Eric, Rosey and Meche are treasures. DO NOT miss having them cook for you. I am very particular about where I stay and this gor 5 palm trees from meand I would have given it 10!

Magical Casa with awesome views!
We stayed for 8 nights and had an amazing time. Our family of 2 adults and 2 children felt completely safe here and slept like babies every night! It was great waking up to the sound of the ocean every morning and eating breakfast out on the terrace. The beach was really lovely and super clean and we even swam around to playa dos muertos one day. We also saw a whale frolicking out the front which was amazing! We would highly recommend Casa Buque !

We have been visiting Sayulita for 40 years, we used to camp in our property , back when Sayulita was a tiny, quiet town. Our dream has always been to build and share our vacation house. We have created two beautiful Casitas to share with our guests: "Casa Buque" and "Tejonera" We currently live in Guadalajara, but go to Sayulita as often as possible.
