The Perfect Chef for Our Wellness Retreat!

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Chef Quetzal! He catered all of the meals for our wellness retreat, and working with him was an absolute dream from beginning to end.

He helped me create a beautiful menu that felt perfect for the experience I wanted to give my guests. Every meal was incredibly delicious while still feeling fresh, healthy, and nourishing. He was also wonderful about accommodating our various dietary restrictions, which made hosting a group so much easier. The portions were generous, the presentation was beautiful, and the food was consistently amazing. My guests absolutely loved it!

Communication throughout the entire planning process was clear, easy, and reliable. Everything ran so smoothly, and the service during our meals was fantastic. It allowed me to actually enjoy the retreat and spend time with my guests rather than worrying about the food or logistics.

Beyond being an incredibly talented chef, Quetzal is just a genuinely kind and lovely person. He brought such a warm energy to our retreat and was an absolute pleasure to work with.

A perfect experience with Quetzal!

Quetzal cooked 2 amazing dinners for us with friends - and also made additional leftovers and cocktails for us to have later in the week. The food was fantastic and Quetzal himself made the experience so much fun. Thought of everything and left everything clean and tidy. Thank you again, Quetzal!

Extraordinary, flawlessly executed holiday meal!

From first contact to cleaning up the last item Quetzal was a delight to work with. We especially appreciated his responsiveness, accommodation of dietary needs, timeliness, and overall pleasant personality. Wonderful traditional holiday Mexican dinner!

Chef Quetzal did a superb job of providing a traditional Mexican holiday meal for our party of 13 family members. Our grandchildren (5 teens plus one 22 year old recent college grad) plus their 4 parents and 3 grandparents were all delighted with one delicious item after another. From appetizers by the pool through many vegetarian and meat/seafood mains to a yummy dessert of churros and flan at the end, the meal was a great success. Quetzal enthusiastically gave a brief introduction to each item before serving it. He and his assistant, Viridiana, were efficient, friendly and very helpful. We couldn't have asked for a more special festive occasion and look forward to hiring Alta Mar Catering in 2027. Then Quetzal will undoubtedly provide another unique culinary and cultural experience for our immediate family from the US when we return to Sayulita for a repeated Feliz Navidad tasty time.

Amazing experience and delicious meal!!

We had the best experience with Alta Mar catering! They were incredibly responsive and prompt. We had a private chef and bartender come to our Airbnb for a bachelor party. The service was incredible the whole night. The drinks were very good and all the food was delicious and flavorful. We would absolutely book with them again for any event. Highly recommend!!

Amazing experience, and fantastic service.

We requested a tasting with Alta Mar to book a caterer for our wedding. Needless to say, we will be signing with Alta Mar. Our family agreed that this is some of the best food/drinks we have ever tasted. Everything was extremely flavorful! The owner and staff were extremely accommodating and very responsive. What stood out most was how personalized the experience felt. Before the meal, Chef Quetzal asked about our favorite flavors and if any dietary restrictions. We mentioned that we enjoy fresh seafood, bold spices, but try to limit dairy. The menu that followed was nothing short of amazing—every dish felt like it was crafted just for me and our guests and conveniently prepared in our rented villa.

Beyond the food, the experience itself was so special. Chef Quetzal took time to explain the origins of ingredients, sharing how they honor local traditions while also experimenting with modern techniques. The in-home dining experience was restaurant quality with a professional chef who shared their passion for cooking.

My group of well traveled friends were so impressed — we rebooked Alta Mar for Brunch the following day!
