A wonderful, relaxing place!
It was such a lovely stay! The house is wonderful, the view unbeatable, and as it's a short walk out of the town center you get calm in an otherwise busy beach town. The kitchen is equipped with everything one would need, and Nancy and Joe are always there to help you, or just to make you feel at home, and accommodate your needs. Thank you for everything Nancy & Joe, it was a wonderful stay, and we still remember the sunset drinks and interesting talk on your balcony!

Highly recommended
The photos just don’t do Casa Iguana justice. It’s a perfect place if you’d prefer not to be smack dab in the middle of Sayulita, with the crowds and the trucks and the music. If you came to this government-designated pueblo magico to get away from frenzy instead of to bathe in it, Joe and Nancy’s hillside house is where you’d want to stay.
Two streets access it. One is steep, and that gets you to a north side beach in about three minutes, past a Christmas-light covered portable cafe called Le Camion.
The other is gentler and gets you into the Centro on foot in about ten to fifteen minutes, by small stores and cafes where you can get what you’d need–and, as a vendor we heard said of his souvenir wares, “Something you don’t need!”
There’s an outside sofa at Casa Iguana that gives you a terrific view of the Bay and the coconut palms around it. The sunset-watching is incomparable. In the early months of the year, it’s very easy to see the spouts of humpback whales. The birds put on quite a show, too; raucous chachalacas and Jurassic-looking magpie-jays, and the occasional flock of parrots yelling their heads off as they fly. The arc of the ocean is mesmerizing.
As for the place itself–it’s grand. The owners are upstairs, but the casa is so well-built the sound doesn’t travel. And there’s plenty of places to sleep in Casa Iguana if you’re having trouble because of jet lag, or staying somewhere unfamiliar. Saggy beds are the curse of vacation rentals, but the master bedroom bed is wide and firm, and then there’s a couple of siesta couches, if that’s an actual thing, in the kitchen…and THEN there’s also two firm single beds in an adjacent room, with a desk facing that magnificent view so you can try out some verse or a drawing.
Kitchen and bathroom are both very clean and spacious. The hosts went out of their way to look after us–they’re very kind people.
Highly recommended. I’ll probably be sorry I wrote this if it becomes hard to get a booking once the word gets out.

We loved Casa Iguana!!
Casa Iguana was the perfect place for my daughter and me to spend a relaxing week in Sayulita! We loved the authentic Mexican decor, sounds of nature (including the ocean, roosters and dogs!) and of course the views. Had coffee and breakfast every morning outside on the porch. The beautiful beach is a 3 minute walk down a 'very' steep hill, or you can choose to stroll down to the beach using the slightly longer, easier road. It's also an easy 10 minute walk into town. Hosts Nancy and Joe could not have been more gracious and accommodating; they were available for any issues little issues or questions we had during the week and were even able to arrange a ride back to the airport for us. The beds were super comfy, the rooms spotless, and every amenity we needed was there. We loved our stay here!

Paradise overlooking the Ocean
Your private veranda provides a relaxing peaceful ocean view after a day wandering through the town or sitting on the beach that cannot be matched. At night the lights on the south Sayulita hills are the only reminder that you are near other humans.
The various birds, magpie jays, kisadees, hooded orioles and woodpeckers, even the noisy chachalacas were a daily entertainment.
Numerous local restaurants and markets provide everything needed from fresh produce, bread and entertainment and are within walking distance.
Nancy & Joe were gracious helpful owners who ensured your privacy but were always available if needed. We would not hesitate to return.

A great place
This is a charming unit that is comfortable both inside and out. The kitchen is well equipped with a quality toaster, blender, microwave, and even sharp knives. The bed is comfortable and the living room/kitchen has cozy, stylish sofas. The same is true of the outside living area -- comfortable furniture, a hammock and a lounger from which to enjoy the beautiful landscaping and the view over the palm trees to the ocean. The owners, who live upstairs, were friendly and helpful while being respectful of our privacy. Highly recommended!

Wonderful two weeks in Paradise.
As another reviewer put it "if you are looking for a dirty place with terrible service, don't choose Casa Iguana". I can't second that enough. This is one of the best "smaller" options on the North end. The house is very clean and incredibly well cared for. Nancy, Joe, Coco and the gardener (can't remember his name) were so attentive to every detail on the property which made our stay especially comfortable. There is a property behind the house that has some chickens but Nancy took care of that too by supplying ear plugs for us. The house is fresh smelling, the outdoor space is comfortable and there is even a clothes line to hang wet suits and towels in the sunshine to dry them quickly. The kitchen had everything we needed for yummy breakfasts and fantastic happy hours. We ate lunch and dinner out because the house is so close to so many restaurant options. There is a steep but very short hill on the front side of the house however there is a less steep option around the back which makes this property very walkable. We really enjoyed looking for whales as we drank margaritas on the patio in the late afternoon. Most days there was a nice breeze to provide the perfect temperature after being at the beach in the hot sun. We had another couple join us for a few days and the second bedroom (with built in twin beds) was perfect for us. My husband especially enjoyed the palapa roof over that sleeping space. It made the crashing waves that much easier to hear. I work remotely and the Wifi work very well (even for zoom meetings). We wouldn't hesitate to spend another vacation at Casa Iguana.

Most amazing place ever!
If horrible service, bad views and unsocial people is what you want in a vacation rental, than Casa Iguana is NOT the place for you! This place was absolutely INCREDIBLE! I remember that my first impression of the apartment was how the SayulitaLife pictures did not do it justice! The recently renovated interior offers clean open areas that are comfortable and inviting but the exterior hammock and patio area is where you will spend most of your mornings. Surrounded by tropical rain forests, a 180 degree view of the blue ocean and stunning sunsets, Casa Iguana creates an incredible ambiance. The solid concrete and Spanish style construction of the house make for a very private experience for you an your loved one...on our stay we had two stormy rain days making it difficult to get around but a TV and DVD player was a nice touch for a cozy night in. We were also surprised how close everything was, a road directly outside the front door has you in warm beach sand within 5 minutes. Beer, Wine, Pizza and Salsa Dancing are a short 10 minute walk away...perfect stumbling distance! The service we received from Nancy and Joe was above and beyond the call. We were shown where to go in town, who to talk to, how to get around....including picking us up from the bus stop! We were always stocked with fresh linens, towels and water...to be honest it is encouraging to know that such profoundly kind, fun and generous people exist like Nancy and Joe...it was my boyfriend and I's first time in Sayulita and Casa Iguana was one of the highlights of our trip...we will return to Sayulita and we will only stay at Casa Iguana! Check it out, you will not be disappointed!

The reviews are true!
We read the reviews so we had high expectations and Casa Iguana did not disappoint. The casa is clean, comfortable and perfectly equipped. It is just ten minutes to town but is a world away from the hustle bustle of Sayulita. The best part though is the care and attention offered by Nancy and Joe, from the start to the finish of the trip. We would stay nowhere else in Sayulita.

Beautifu Spanish home on the north end
Casa Iguana was just perfect during my first stay in Sayulita. It was close enough, yet far enough away from almost everything. I was easily able to start my days with a completely stocked kitchen with all amenities needed. Then off to my choice of yoga studios walking distance from the house or sometimes I opt to climb the extremely steep hill up from Casa Iguana and take in all the wonderful ocean views. Then off to the beach for the day with our picnic that stayed fresh in the cooler supplied by the house along w/ umbrella, beach chairs, and just a short walk down the hill. I enjoyed the porch where we had our late afternoon cocktails and watched the sun go down and restful nights of sleep w/ a great breeze in the bedroom and TV w/ dvd stocked w/ the lastest movies for viewing. Our hosts just added to the quality of the house w/ their generous personalities. I am sad they are not going to be there when I return and I will def be returning to Casa Iguana. 5 stars!
