Description

Casa de la Colina in Sayulita is a private residence for guests to rent who wish to enjoy the vibrant village of Sayulita.  Enjoyed by those with a taste for the finer style of beachtown enjoyment. Spacious rooms, terrific views and easy walk to beach & town make it one of the most popular rentals.

The house sits above the coconut palm groves with expansive views of the beach and village below. You can check the surf, watch the whales, and even root for the locals on the baseball field all from the comfort of the huge palapa covered rooftop terrace. No need to rent a car as both the nicest  beaches and central Sayulita are within short minutes walk from your doorstep.

Our home has two air conditioned master bedrooms with private baths; one opens to the very private heated swimming pool,  the other has a private terrace with full view of the ocean, the town and Punta Sayulita. This main floor has a full gourmet kitchen with 10 foot ceilings and is adjacent to the pool area which has an outdoor shower. The adjoining dining room and living areas are also air-conditioned and furnished in Mexican coastal flavor with lots of leather and wood, including Mexican antiques.

Casa de la Colina will accommodate up to 8 adult houseguests,  we can add a few smaller beds for small children.

The true jewel of Casa de la Colina is the palapa covered terraza on the top floor with a bar-b-que, service kitchen,  bar w/fridge and dining table for up to 12 people. This is where most time is spent swinging in a hammock when not swimming in our pool or at the beach. A birders paradise.  Watch the birds and wildlife from this panoramic tree top vantage point. There is plenty of room here for everyone.  One of the three bathrooms is located on this top floor next to a beautiful semi-outdoor bedroom with breezy cabana curtains, a king bed + twin bed with a tropical jungle view. .

Casa de la Colina is suited to accommodate many size groups. Multiple couples with children can have beds moved to their best advantage as the large bedrooms and open floor plan is very flexible, and we can bring in a baby crib & child beds.

Very Nice House with Awesome Views!
Ruby and Doug were great Hosts. They took their time to show us the house and because they have been in town for so many years, they had good information about all of Sayulita and surrounding areas. The pool is heated and was great! There is an outdoor shower by the pool with hot water. Both main floor bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious. Full service kitchen with gas stove and oven, full size refrigerator with freezer. The upstairs was simply beautiful. The open air bedroom was fantastic! There is a large seating area both in the sun and under the palapa, and another kitchen area as well. Walk to the beach and town is very close, no need for a car or golf cart. I would stay here again!

Magnificent property!
Our stay this past week was incredible. Such a great location located close to just about everything. We had rented a golf cart for the venturing days but chose to walk to most of our destinations as they were just right downtown. A mini mart right down the road, shopping down the hill, great restaurants everywhere within walking distance. Beach days were nice to have the cart with 5 of us and all our extras bringing with. Doug and ruby gave great recommendations where to try out and made sure the stay was great everyday we ran into them. Having no tv was a plus for our family as we learned and played the games, enjoyed the pool, whale watching from the palapa and just enjoying the beautiful view upstairs. Thank you again and loved our stay!

Wonderful House
We loved our stay here last March. The rooftop was definitely where we spent most of our time. We saw whales, boats and surfers from there, ate some wonderful, homemade meals and did yoga. Doug and Ruby are so great and helpful. The location was perfect; it's a quick walk down the hill to the plaza downtown or the beach. The kitchen has lots of pots and pans and the little pool is great for cooling off. We will be back some day!

Great property in paradise
My group had a wonderful two week stay at Casa de la Colina. Ruby and Doug were exceptional hosts and made everything easy from check in through check out. The house is located in a nice and quiet part of town, but is close to the beach and great restaurants. The view from the rooftop is nothing short of magical. Be prepared to spend a lot of time under the palapa! As with all of Sayulita, be sure to hide your money and valuables when you are away. Will be coming back here again for sure.

This house was perfect for my needs
Best part, it was quiet and safe tucked up in the cul de sac. The owner was wonderful when I locked myself out (leave the key in the lock box). Drove right over from the neighboring town to let me in. Such a quick walk to everything you need, but there's definitely a good hill to climb. Some people may want to rent a cart. Rough start on wifi the first night, but a restart had it working great the rest of my trip (9 nights total).

Casa de Colina was a perfect place to stay!
It is perfectly close to town while remaining far enough that you can’t hear the noise at night. It’s got perfect access while remaining peaceful. There is a big fridge and nice kitchen if you want to cook yourself. Laura helped arrange transportation for us to and from the airport so it was so easy to get there, and she gave us tips to better enjoy our time. Thanks for a great stay!

A gem in a sea of possibilities.
I came to Sayulita to give my daughter away at her highly anticipated wedding. I had never heard of, much less visited, Sayulita. So, to my surprise, I found a quaint, friendly, charming little village that I will certainly return to, some time in the future. Meanwhile, my mind will be wandering back on a regular basis, as this is what real daydreams are made of.

Our hosts, Doug and Ruby, shared their wonderful Casa de la Colina with me and my guests and this rental was a real home run, for me. This centrally located, impressive, multi story, home was the perfect "home away from home" for three of us, and a gathering spot for many others in my family, as we took full advantage of the rooftop patio to entertain relatives who were here for the wedding. The wi-fi is good, but if your looking for cable TV, you won't find it here (it's not like you need it, either). In fact, we did try to watch a movie one evening (there is a selection of DVD's and a player, but we couldn't get the player to work. That was only a minor flaw but did not take away anything of importance. The home has 3 bedrooms (2 indoor and 1 outdoor), each with a large bed, and other sleeping areas close by (twin beds doubling as sitting areas).a large dining/living room, huge kitchen, wading/spa pool, three baths, and the rooftop patio which is a complete living space all its own. The view from on top is worth the price of this rental before you consider the other amenities. Day or night, that view will leave you happy and make you want to spend a little more time just drinking in the sights.

The kitchen is well stocked, with most everything you would need for a home prepared meal. The few things it was missing, did not detract from the meals we ate there. The price of a meal there is so low, you will want to eat out always.

And there is no shortage of good restaurants in the village. Between my brother (he was one of my guests) and me, we have a total of around 70 years experience in the restaurant/bar business, so you can believe it when we say there are great places to eat in Sayulita. Those places will be reviewed separately.

This review is only to sing the praises of this cozy, quiet, Pearl on the Pacific. We highly recommend Casa de la Colina for your accommodations when you visit Sayulita....and visit, you should. Thanks, again, Doug and Nancy, for your hospitality. -JP
