The stunning villa is located on a hill on the quieter and sought after north side of Sayulita, this architect designed and managed home is a delight for your senses as you take in the expansive views of the tropical blue sky and azure Pacific ocean. The north beach access is only 150 yards from the house and you can hear the sound of the waves as you enjoy the pelicans, magnificent frigate birds, and keeping an eye out for whales.

With an open design concept, the views from every room are stunning, from sunrise to sunset and all the magnificent colors in between.

The doors can be fully opened or closed depending on the ambience you wish to create. When open, take advantage of the endless ocean views and tropical bird song. The house was perfection.
The house was so lovely and exactly as advertised. Everything was gorgeous. Laura - the cleaner/chef - was A joy. The manager is at a property next door and extremely helpful and kind. Everything was perfect. But the thing that I probably loved and appreciated the most was the creative, tasteful decor. There is very beautiful, eclectic original
Art all over the house. There are fresh, tropical flowers put out. The furnishings are a diverse collection of styles that work very nicely together. I loved that it wasn’t a generic, uninspired house. The owner’s taste and aesthetic is really lovely. The location and view are outstanding. There is a view from every room. The bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms are very modern and clean. I will be staying again. Soon!

ABSOLUTELY Amazing!! and, that view!
LUXURY. COMFORT. BEAUTIFUL. Definitely recommend staying here -- that's basically all you need to know, seriously (but actual details below).Alejandro was amazing from the minute I started inquiring about his Villa. He provided so many details about the villa and options to accommodate my guests. We had a group of 7 (5 in late twenties/early thirties, and 2 in late 50's) celebrating my dirty 30.We arrived in an afternoon and used the airport shuttle service Alejandro recommended. This was very affordable and so easy! Our driver stopped at a grocery store (very similar to a super walmart/target) on our way to the villa in order for us to stock up on household supplies, food, snacks...and alcohol. The place he took us was also very reasonably priced. There was also a currency exchange onsite (so recommend probably doing it there vs. at the airport and/or in town). We opted to have Laura prepare dinner for us night 1 - best choice (highly recommend it)! Her authentic Mexican dishes were so delicious - we also had her make breakfast our first morning there.Being at the top of the hill, there was always a really nice breeze that came through. I loved the folding doors getting from inside out to the pool deck. The pool was perfectly heated/maintained everyday and we hung made a point to hang out there everyday - dipping in the pool, enjoying the views, playing music and having some drinks. Honestly, you can't get enough of that view & those sunsets.Having 3 master suites was ideal for evenly accommodating everyone, and splitting the rental costs. We did utilize one of the extra beds which was setup in one of the bedrooms upstairs for us. The rooms are all spaced for some privacy from the group if ever needed, and optimal views from each room. Every room and living area has an individual AC unit which were great for combating the humidity and sleeping comfortably.Laura tidy up'd the place each day - making our beds, sweeping and changing out the trash. The one thing I do wish was different, is that we could have gotten fresh towels. We would hang our towels on the hooks to dry after showering, and when she straightened up the used towels would get refolded and set out for us to reuse (I'm a tad excessive of a germ/clean freak though, so using someone else's used towel was icky for me).An additional thing to keep in mind, this area is very much the jungle (bring bug spray). The upstairs common area between the bedrooms is open to nature, which is great for lounging and taking it all in. However, there absolutely are bugs (mosquitos, spiders, ants, moths) that come with being in this area. We got attacked (jokingly) by a giant moth one night on the stairs going to bed, which later, we couldn't stop laughing about - but in the moment, was terrifying. Haha. Be conscious of any open food, sweets, etc.Alejandro was great throughout the stay! On our first morning we didn't have hot shower water so I sent him a quick text and he immediately checked on the water heater (which had been switch off from the heavy winds the day prior), we had hot water again within 10-minutes. We would see him in passing some mornings and he was always very friendly and pleasant. At first, we had decided to use Alejandro's ATV for getting around town - which would make sense for most groups because the hill to get up to the villa really is one of the steepest in Sayulita (but again, that comes with an amazing view). Also, most of the electric rental golf carts from in town probably won't make it up that hill if I had to guess. But once our 7th guest arrived on day 2, we couldn't all fit on the ATV.We did taxis each day to get to/from town. We probably could have handled the incline walking, but for my 50/60-year old parents (with the heat & humidity), it really would have been too exerting. We did have about 4 taxis stall out/overheat or only make it half way up the hill. The wait is about 10-mins from the time you call them to be picked up, and a few dollars each way. This was my whole groups first time to Sayulita, and Alejandro's villa and hospitality solidified return trips for us all. My mom is very much a resort-only kind of person for Mexico trips so she was hesitant to not stay at a large, well-known resort. Thanks to Alejandro's perfect villa, both of my parents loved everything about Casa Colorin and Sayulita, and want to plan future family vacations here. We all felt completely safe the whole time here, and having Alejandro right next door added to our comfort. I recommend this home to anyone looking for relaxing comfort and luxury and/or still having the excitement/adventures in town so accessible. Realistically, not ideal for kids given the steep hill and stairs for the entry and inside the home. Truly, top notch.

AMAZING!
Casa Colorín was everything we imagined it to be and more based on the pictures provided on the website and all the posted reviews. This piece of paradise sits along the hillside, not too far from the beach, but far away enough to provide a spectacular view of the bay. Needless to say, the sunsets there were just breathtaking.

Alejandro, the owner, was very gracious and accommodating. Being the architect of Casa Colorín, he paid a great amount of attention in designing the private bedrooms, the open and airy palapa area on the second floor down to the very pretty glass sconces holding fresh flowers from the yard. Tía Laura was a gem! She was very friendly and helpful. We would attempt to have conversations with her as we would invite her to join us for breakfast. With her limited english and the 4 yrs of spanish I had taken in high school many years ago, I would say we got by. Tía Laura is also a great cook and I highly recommend her. Her flan is muy delicioso! She had cooked dinner for 9 people on one of the nights. We loved her and looked forward to seeing her everyday. The location of the house was almost ideal and was just about a 5 min drive to town.

The house sits on a steep hill. A regular golf cart with 2 people can make it up the hill, but 3 or more cannot, so we rented the 6-passenger ATV from Alejandro. This or a car would be the only vehicles that can make it up the hill. We had a mechanical problem with the ATV but Alejandro attended to the problem right away and he had the ATV up and running the following day. Fortunately, we were out on a boat that whole time so it worked out perfectly and Alejandro did not charge us for that day. Sayulita is a quaint little beach town with no major hotel chains. We came during low season and it was perfect, a little on the warm side but perfect. I would definitely love to come back to Sayulita and to Casa Colorín!

Perfect house - Amazing meals too!
Casa Colorin is the perfect place to stay in Sayulita. We asked Laura to cook for us on the second day of our trip and quickly asked that she cook dinners for the rest of our stay. The food was delicious traditional Mexican, prepared with love. Not only is Laura a great cook, but she is a delight to have around. I highly recommend her services. The house itself was great too. Having three master suites made the choosing rooms easy (our group was made up of two families). Everyone had a breathtaking view from their room and AC to keep things comfortable. If you're a fan of architecture, you'll love the design of the house. The spaces are laid out really well and the flow from open to enclosed spaces is really interesting.

We were a bit concerned about safety and health having not been to Mexico in a long time. There was no reason for concern though. We all swam in the ocean, drank the filtered water from the house and ate anything we wanted (no one ate fruit except for limes in the beer and margaritas though). None of us got remotely sick and no one ever felt unsafe. Sayulita is just a nice little town that can get pretty crowded :) We all decided that we'll come back and rent Casa Colorin for a week next year too!

Such a great place!
We are so happy to have been able to experience Casa Colorin! We travelled with two other couples and it was the perfect place for each of us to have our own space. The view is amazing and the pool is just the right size for a quick splash to cool off in. We liked that it was far enough away from town that it was quieter at night, as that town can get going, particularly on a weekend. Such a well thought out property and Alejandro is a wonderful host. I highly recommend renting his ATV (which fit all six of us) for running back and forth to town. It was more than powerful enough to get us up and down the hill to the house. We would not hesitate to go back.Such a great place!

First class experience
Casa Colorin delivers on every promise. The home is located close to the beach, only a short walking distance. Privacy dominates the setting on the side of the hill. All bedrooms are equally unique with individual balconies, ample space and spacious bathrooms. The common areas are useful for groups or individuals and all the appliances are modern. We were a group of adults although children would fit quite well in this home. Every detail has been addressed by Alejandro. He takes great pride in the property and it shows. Laura is available to help with the cooking which is a wonderful option. We arrived late and she had prepared our cocktails and dinner! Excellent. Well worth the request. I would most definitely rent this home again, and again. You won't be disappointed.

Fantastic Views & Amenities from a Most Excellent Villa
From the start, our experience with Casa Colorin & Alejandro was exceptional. Alejandro was very prompt & helpful in his correspondence. We arrived and were stunned with just how beautiful Casa Colorin was & the fantastic views of Sayulita & the ocean below.

We were there in February & only needed to use the AC minimally to cool off the bedroom from the afternoon setting sun. Otherwise we took advantage of the open air plan & had all doors & windows open the fabulous weather outside. The infinity pool is stunning in itself & was well used in the afternoons to cool off!

The villa has everything you would possibly need & then some. We very much appreciated Laura & the daily housekeeping service she provided. Based on other reviews we paid Laura to cook a few traditional meals for us in the home. We were not disappointed, as they were some of the best meals we had while in Sayulita, if not the best we've ever had! Laura is a wonderful asset to Casa Colorin; so warm, friendly, helpful & accommodating. We wanted to take her home!

We did pay to use the Ranger, as the cobblestone street up to the villa is very steep & a traditional golf cart would not have gotten the 6 of us up the hill. Unfortunately the Ranger was in need of some repairs, but this wasn't known or addressed until we were using it. After a few days of struggling with the Ranger & what seemed its imminent demise, we let Alejandro know of the issues with it. Alejandro took care of the needed maintenance issues right away & offered it to us the final days of our stay but we just opted for local taxi service. We were credited back the days we did not use the Ranger with no problem.

The only drawback was just how firm the mattresses were. They were beyond firm & if you are not accustomed to sleeping on such a firm mattress, it was at times difficult to get a restful nights sleep.

We can't say enough positive things about Casa Colorin! It was more than anything we could have imagined from the listing & we were so pleased to have made the choice to stay there.

Breathtaking views, spectacular house, wonderful staff
Our stay at Casa Colorin was the highlight for sure of our trip. Alejandro, the owner and architect of the beautiful house , was so kind, available and a helpful, host. He thought of everything when he designed the home for guests, renters. The interior is very cool and comfortable. The kitchen is fabulous , all three bedrooms are the same, same beautiful view, nice size, bathroom, big closet, coffee station in each room. The pool is wonderful after a day at the beach. We rented the ATV for the week , which was nice to have, though walking down and up is not bad either. Laura, the housekeeper and cook was so great. We loved her! She has a great sense of humor and she cooked for us two nights, which I would highly recommend . If you have the opportunity to stay at Casa Colorin, DO!

Slice of Heaven
Casa Colorin is a slice of heaven with a breathtaking view of the Sayulita Bay. The layout is just perfect, it is extremely clean and the kitchen has all the comforts of home. You can float around in the pool for hours on end in a relaxed state of bliss. You should rent Alejandro's Polaris to get around town in style – and it has more power to climb the fairly steep incline to his property than the standard golf carts. Sayulita is a vibrant and multicultural little town with a friendly vibe and great restaurants but the best part of our trip was being able to escape the hustle and bustle of the downtown scene and relax at the property. If you're looking for pure relaxation, this is the place for you!

Beautiful Sayulita Property
We had an amazing stay at Alejandro’s house in Sayulita. The home is set up for both privacy and shared living areas. We were there with 4 teenagers and the three bedroom layout worked perfectly and we played cards every night in the open living room upstairs. Alejandro was super responsive and helpful in every way. Laura the housekeeper was also great and we hired her to cook a delicious Mexican meal one evening. Everyone in our family voted this the best house we have ever rented, highly recommend.
