Casa Desierto

Betty’s place is a beautiful modern home. The interior decorating is fresh, with lots of light, pretty plants, beautiful views, and a very nice pool to cool down. You can walk down Gringo Hill along pretty winding streets from the place to Sayulita square in less than 10 minutes (we timed ourselves walking back up in 7 minutes). Highly recommend also getting the golf cart to make it even easier to do a little shopping or zip to the beach with a few bags. The bedrooms all have fans and AC, and all the large bathrooms are very comfortable too. What really made the trip extremely easy was the responsiveness of Juan throughout our stay. He always answered messages within minutes, and was ready to help with anything we needed, over the phone or in person by zipping over on his motorcycle. Cleaning lady Rosa ensured that everything was squeaky clean also. Thank you Betty, Rosa and Juan: we had the best time.

Where do I begin? We stayed here for a week in April and the home is absolutely gorgeous! It’s located on “Gringo Hill” just south of the Plaza in a quiet neighborhood. The home faces south with stunning views of the surrounding neighborhood and jungle. The finishes are modern and the home flows very well. The pool is sun drenched for most of the day and very pleasant and plenty big enough for splashing and soaking. The large windows let in so much sunlight but don’t make the home hot during the day.
The House Host (Juan) is so helpful and so quick to attend to any questions you may have. The house keeper was able to do laundry for us during our stay and was so pleasant. It is a bit of a walk up the hill from the plaza to the home but very doable and only takes about 5-10 minutes depending on your pace. There was a golf cart available to rent which really helped when we wanted to run into the plaza and back very quickly but we walked most of the time. The house is very secure and easily accessible from multiple directions depending on where your adventure takes you during your stay. The owner is attentive and very sweet and works very hard to make sure you have a comfortable stay. We will definitely stay here again on our future Sayulita visits and had such a wonderful time!

The house was beautiful and perfect for 7 girls there for a bachelorette party. They were super accommodating of our late arrival and were overall very kind. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I would stay here again if I were going back.

We had a wonderful stay here for a bachelorette! The house is amazing, Betty and Juan (the hosts) are incredibly responsive and helped us set up drivers, golf carts, etc. They were also there to help with anything onsite when needed. Highly recommend staying here!

This house is beautiful! There were five adults and two teens that enjoyed the home for the week. The outdoor covered area is perfect for those that want to enjoy the warmth but not be in direct sunlight. The jungle view and view of Monkey Mountain were stunning and the architecture framed Monkey mountain beautifully. The pool is lovely as well. We got to know the housekeeper Rosa well as we arranged with the great property manager, Juan, to have her come a few extra days. I originally found the home on Airbnb and it is listed there as five bedrooms and four and a half baths, so I assumed that was the layout. There are four bedrooms, three and a half bath with two bedrooms with ensuite. I should have asked for clarification, but it worked out well for our group regardless since a mom and two teens were able to share the third full bath. We loved the home and would definitely stay again and highly recommend. If we were a larger group, we would try to arrange so that we could secure Betty's brother's home that is adjacent to her Casa Desierto.

Casa Desierto is beautiful and exactly as photographed. It is a stunning home, perfectly laid out for groups. We were 7 adults and the house accommodated us very comfortably. We loved the pool and spent most of our time at home outdoors. The decor is lovely, views are expansive, and the walk to town was manageable for folks who are ok with a small workout on the way home. Both the owner, Betty, and property manager, Juan, were extremely responsive and helpful. We lost running water, which is common for the area, and Juan had it sorted within an hour of my contacting him. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing haven just minutes away from the hustle of town.

We loved our stay here, the house was just so beautiful. Juan was so responsive and helped us set up golf cart rentals and answered any questions we had very quickly. We would definitely come back in the future!

Betty's house was fantastic. With our group of 5, we had the perfect amount of space to join together at the table for nightly card games and meals and enough room to spread out when we needed private space. The house is in a bustling neighborhood, just the hill from the main part of town with the option to take a direct steep route or an easy flat route (once you go down one steep hill) There were options for golf carts but we opted to walk in and out of town. We loved that there was an organic market, and a coffee shop at the bottom of the hill. Juan was very responsive and helpful when we needed anything!
